The mouse was making her way down the street, humming and whistling to herself. She loved a day out and about, the sunshine, the people wandering about. She had just come from one of the many plant shops and now had a small packet of seeds she had just purchased was tucked into the small bag she had swung across her front. She was not quite sure what she wanted to do next so she was just kind of wandering around aimlessly. She could go see Eilwyn or maybe Asha. Glancing at one of the café outside seating she saw someone she had recently helped, having given the ferret one of her ointments to help with a problem, she stopped for a moment to talk to them. Hearing that everything was going okay and informing the ferret that she would send some more her way she continued on her way. |

 Peder, the handsome Selkie devil he was; was on the prowl. He was on his way back from work looking for something to do when he noticed her. She was a cute little black and teal mouse carrying a bag of some sort on the front of her. She was terribly cute and looked nice so perhaps she might even give him the time of day. He had time to kill as Pathos ended up with a different shift than he had. Shame. They had plans to go out tonight but it would seem that was not going to happen now. At any rate, Peder decided it would only be right for him to introduce himself to such a pretty young lady. For all he knew she might have a dilemma and terribly need his assistance! Who was he to ignore the fates? He walked up beside her and smiled. " 'ello Miss, I saw you from across the way and I felt I should introduce myself. My name is Peder... and you are?" He smiled mischievously at her and even gave a little wink. Well. Today was certainly going to be interesting, that he could tell. |

She was taken by surprise a little when the male came up besides, giving a small jump, but she was able to quickly hide her initial reaction before returning his smile. He was a handsome creature; she would have to give him that. From his fur she could see that he was and Selkie and the marks on his fur were pretty.
“It is a pleasure to meet you Peder, the name is Elyse.” She replied easily enough, her greeting sincere. She stopped in her tracks so that she could give him the proper attention. She was not completely unused to random strangers coming up to her, not after she had started to make way into the healing profession now that she had finished her training.
“How are you doing this fine day?” She asked. It was a question that came to her naturally now, since people seemed to come to her with ailments then random hellos or simple curiosity.

"Elyse, why that is a beautiful name. Tell me, what is such a charming creature doing walking alone at this time of the day? You should have people flocking you, vying for your affections. It's a trajedy-nay-A TRAVESTY to see such a thing. Well, there is only one thing I can do.. I must escort you for the day. I will hear no other words about it, I am at your beck and call today." He gave her one of his million dollar smiles.
"Me? I am doing absolutely wonderful now that we have met, dear Elyse. But the question is... how are you doing?"
He could not believe his luck; he had gone from terribly bored to finding the company of this lovely young mouse. He really should have went to buy food for Pathos but he figured he would make do with what he had. He knew he always packed way too much food for lunch and it usually could last him through dinner as well. Besides, he couldn't take his eyes off this girl called Elyse.

“Thank you very much.” She replied with a bright smile at his comment of her name. “I am doing wonderful. As for wot I am doing wandering around? I just got done at a plant shop looking for some seeds of plants I need for my collection. At the moment though I am currently free and was just wondering wot to do.”
She gave the information easily. Papa kept warning her that one day trusting people so much without a thought of who they were or what they could do to her was going to get her in trouble. She usually just smiled at him and told him she understood and would be more careful in the future. Truth was she just had not really met anyone who seemed like they would harm her.
At his comment that she should have people flocking for her attention had her giving a little giggle in response. “I thank you for the complament but I am afraid I am not really physically attractive to others, not like Ven at least” she said listing one of her siblings. “However, it would be a pleasure if you would escort me. Is there anything you can think for us to do or see?” She asked, her thoughts remaining completely innocent.

“Seeds, ay? I myself don’t have much of a green thumb; last time I tried to make a plant grow I darn near made all the grass around it turn black.” He laughed.
“Oh, love; believe me when I say that this Ven person probably doesn’t have half the looks you do. You should give yourself more credit. Obviously I thought you were attractive so that that means wut you said just isn’t true” He cooed.
“It would be an absolute pleasure to have you on my arm today. You like plants and the like so we could go to a garden. Do you know one nearby? You could fill me in on wut they are and wut the ones for medicine are” He grinned.
He made a good choice in speaking to her, she was personable and he thought she knew how to have fun. Today wouldn’t be a bust after all…

She blushed slightly under her fur from his comments. She had had people flirt with her before but it had not really been that often in occurrence.
“Wow, that is pretty impressive,” she replied to his comment about his turning the surrounding grass black instead of growing the simple plant.
Tilting her head she thought over different locations near here. “I do not know about any gardens that are close by . . . well actually, if you want we can go stroll in the Park. On the North end there they have a herbal garden which has a lot of good healing plants” She replied. The Park was not far from where they were currently.
Giving him her arm she asked out of curiosity, “So, Peder, wot is it that you do?”. She really did not know anything about this male who now had her arm wrapped around his.

Elyse blushed at his words and Peder just found that adorable; he laughed at her comment since that was pretty bad for him to do. He however had no ability when it came to plants and luckily he had come to terms with it. Perhaps if he asked nicely, she would be inclined to help him in that area. He wouldn't mind showing her a thing or two either if she'd let him.
"The park? Good idea, love; just splendid. I would love to see the herbal garden with you" He smiled.
"Well dear, I am a stone mason so whenever someone needs building done, i'm the guy they call. It keeps me busy more often than not but I still manage to have my fun" He smirked at her arrogantly and hooked her arm in his.
"And yourself, love? Tell me about you. I would hate this whole conversation to be about me..."

“A stone mason huh? Well that seems like it would be a very interesting job. The herbal garden should be excellent this time of year too; a lot of them are flowering now.” she replied as he took her arm.
She started to lead them towards the Park as she answered his next question. “Wot do I do? Well I would have to say that I spend my days as a healer. I have a small clinic and I work mostly with plants. I have had a love for plants ever since I was little; Aunty-Mnem had a lot of plants that she took care of. She was my first trainer.”
She was distracted for a moment by the thought that she should probably stop by her moms’ house and see how they were doing.
As they entered the Park she motioned for him to lead them down one of the paths.

As they headed toward the park, Peder smiled at her answer. “That’s wonderful that you are so accomplished, love; and your Aunty-Mnem sounds like she cares about you too. You’re lucky to have a nice family. I, myself have my brother Pathos but he’s a standup bloke too. Wish I got to see ‘im more though."
Once they got to the park, Elyse led Peder down a path. It was beautiful but not so much that it would detract from Elyse though. She was a rarity and Peder was glad he had stopped to talk to her. If he hadn’t he would have been headed for a particularly boring day. He hadn’t any plans and Pathos wouldn’t be much of a fun time as he had been working all day.
Peder was the flirtatious type but he could be serious too, he really wanted to settle down but out of all the girls he’d dated/bed he hadn’t met what most called “the right one”; one day though he hoped someone would prove him wrong.
