Fluffy listened to the pair of them talk, Xiven seeming much more worried than the stranger, even though she wasn't "very" worried. There was still that little sound, though, and it made her wonder if she'd done something bad after all and Xiven was worried about Peaches finding out, or about something else entirely. It probably had to do with her, though, since she turned to look at her again.
And then the word 'stay' happened and it made her tremble slightly, her entire body stiffening so that she wouldn't move. She'd gotten in trouble before when she didn't know that word, or the one time when she knew but didn't listen to it. Now she knew that word better than any of the other words. "Stay" was a lot more bad than "Mess". Even if she made a mess, if she stayed then it wouldn't be as bad, she'd found. But not staying got her in the worst trouble of all.

"I'm sure your mom can understand a simple mistake. I mean, it's not like you meant to trip. Really, no harm done."
Maybe tripping and falling seemed less of an offense when back at Corvistowne, causing small fires or mixing up chemicals were seen as minor offenses worthy of scolding, as long as they didn't blow up the lab or cause major damage to some expensive technical instrument.
Xiven's concern for her "Fluffy," while the master-pet relationship disturbed her to no end, was almost endearing. She certainly cared for her..."pet," though whether that was because her mother would be angry or if it was because of genuine caring, she wasn't quite sure. Anyway, there was no reason not to help the poor child.
Xia lifted Fluffy's head with a paw, doing her best to avoid touching any open wounds. It was a fair scrape, enough to get an accumulation of blood, but nothing that would require more than a bandage and a quick swap with some H2O2. Though from the looks of it, this hadn't been the first spill that the young child had experienced.
"Nothing to worry about, though I can clean out the wound and dress it, if you like. Prevent any sort of infection. Though you might want to watch to make sure she doesn't fall so much."

Oh thank the Suits. "Thank you. That would be fantastic." Xiven said with a sigh of relief. "It's really quite hard to have her not fall. She doesn't have tail, so she loses her balance a lot. It's usually when I'm not looking too. I guess I'm making excuses but I don't know how to fix something like that."
The feline frown briefly, her ears pinned back. She wasn't all powerful. Mom usually forgave her when she couldn't watch Fluffy all the time. This fall, however, was completely her fault. If she hadn't skipped she wouldn't have tripped.
With a brief twitch of her tail she returned her attention back to Xia and Fluffy. "It's okay Fluffy. Miss Ataxia is going to fix you up. You can relax now." She said as she leaned forward and licked the cat's nose. Saying "Stay" always made her edge. Maybe they had trained her too hard...? But Mommy said if she didn't listen bad things could happen at the palace.

Fluffy didn't like the strange woman touching her and she wanted to cringe away, but there was still that 'Stay' lingering in the air and she didn't want to twitch or move back for fear of making someone angry. That someone would most likely be Xiven, since she'd told her to stay, and Fluffy never wanted to do anything at all that would make her beloved owner angry. Whenever Xiven was specifically cross with her, all she could do was try not to cry until she'd been left alone in their room to think about what she'd done. Usually she knew what it was, or could figure it out. When she didn't, or couldn't, that always made it worse.
The lick to her nose, and the word 'Relax', made it all better. She mewled happily, not really understanding most of what the women were talking about because she was paying attention to not moving. Besides, she didn't understand most speech anyway, so it would have been lost on her. She licked Xiven back beneath her chin, an affectionately adoring and subservient gesture, and waited to see what her owner would want of her.

Xia looked over Fluffy to get a look at her lack of tail. So it was. Poor thing...From the looks of it, she had probably been born without it. No wonder she was always falling flat on her face all the time. As she started to remove items from her satchel, she tried her best to cheer up the little feline.
"I guess there really isn't much that can be done with that, huh? Ah, don't worry about it. As long as you're there to help pick her back up, there shouldn't be any problems."
It was so difficult trying to keep her opinions locked up within her skull. She wanted to tell her how...wrong it was to keep another person on a leash, treating her like some family pet, keeping her from reaching her full potential...but they were only children. And it would be just as impossible to try and change the way these children were educated as it would to try and change an adult. The best she could do was tend to the injured child. She pulled out a petri dish with a H2O2 soaked gauze circle inside as well as a long-stemmed swab.
"Now, I'm going to use some hydrogen peroxide to clean the wound. It'll sting a bit, but it'll keep that scratch from getting infected. You might want to try keeping her calm"
She first waited for Xiven to get into position, then nipped off the cover to the petri dish, grabbed the swab in her teeth, soaked it with the H2O2, and did her best to gently wipe the swab against the wound.

Xiven nodded as she placed a paw carefully on her Fluffy's paw. "It's going to be okay Fluffy, just stay calm." Xiven said as she nudged the feline's cheek.
This had never really happened before. Usually when Fluffy got hurt Mommy Peaches just put her in her lap and fixed her up no matter the protesting. That's just the way things worked and all. The young girl only could watch as Ataxia cleaned the wound. Oh, poor Fluffy, she was going to be upset over all of this. Mommy Peaches couldn't ignore the fact that she had gotten hurt again.
"Miss Ataxia... could you... uh. Would you mind staying with us until my Mommy Peaches shows up?" Xiven tilted her head and gave the woman the cutest face she could muster. She really just wanted someone around so Mommy wouldn't be furious at her for being an idiot. That and having company other than her pet might be nice.

Fluffy's nose wrinkled as she smelled the stuff that the strange woman pulled out of her satchel. Whatever it was, she really didn't like it... and she really didn't want it getting near her face. She leaned backward on instinct as Ataxia moved closer with the swab, not knowing what they were doing but knowing that she didn't like whatever was being moved closer to her.
The paw over her own told her that she wasn't supposed to move and she obediently stilled, trembling slightly as it moved closer and towards her face. And then it touched the cut on her chin and she let out a small yowl, jerking away forcefully.
Ouch! This woman was bad! If she was trying to hurt her, that meant she was a bad person, even if her owner was trying to make her stay calm and didn't seem to care whether or not the woman hurt her. That almost hurt worse and she stared at Xiven with wide, hurt eyes.

Ataxia cringed as the girl let out a yelp. Yeah, that was expected, but it still didn't make her feel any better. It's not like she could explain that the diluted acid was used to eat away at the dead and damaged skin and clean the wound in order to promote healthier healing. She could only understand commands like 'Stay'. After a bit of fumbling with a dry piece of gauze and medical tape, she patched up the scratched part under the girl's chin.
"Sorry about that. The stinging's just the nature of the solution, I'm afraid. But you were an excellent patient."
She smiled at the little Ace girl, as much as she could smile in such a situation. As she put away the petri dish and found a place to get rid of the used swab, she listened to Xiven's request with a bit of confusion. Stay until her Mommy Peaches showed up? Maybe she needed someone to support her story, that it was an accident that her...pet fell down. She was worried about her mom being angry...but she really wanted to get away from this...
"Sure, why not? I'll stay."
It almost hurt her more to agree to linger there longer than it did putting the peroxide on the child's cut. Almost.

Xiven made a worried sound and she gave fluffy a lick on the nose. "No, it helped Fluffy. Don't give me that look..." Xiven said with a sad note in her voice. She hated that look. The feline nudged her pet's head, as she choose to sit besides her. "Sorry. Sorry Fluffy."
Damn this was just a lovely shade of pathetic wasn't it? She was apologize to her pet in front of a Club. This just wasn't going to do if she was going to be a Queen in courts someday. No! She had to redeem herself.
"So. Miss Ataxia. What exactly are you doing in the city on a day like this? Don't you... have important things to do or something? You seem to be a doctor or something. Unless... all Corvies carry around that sort of thing." She blinked at the very thought.
