Marie stopped moving and curled her head back around to look at the girl, golden eyes narrowed again. Her moods were up and down like some sort of crazy bird, doing loops and dives and leaving her so confused as to what she felt that she could hardly stand it. And all along, there was that gaping, empty void in the back of her mind, screaming her loss at every thought she had.
"I'm going to visit the one person whose stupidity I can handle right now," she hissed, then turned and just ran. She didn't want to deal with people! She'd gone outside to be alone and try to figure things out! Why was the cat bothering her? What did she care?!
And what would Bernard care? She stopped no more than a handful of steps inside the palace walls and just sat, staring at the ground. She didn't like him. She didn't like most people, but that was a more personal dislike. And now she was thinking about bothering him? Why?
Things were too confusing. She didn't want to deal with this. A sob wrenching its way out of her throat, she turned into an axe on the spot and just fell to the ground, a weapon lying on the cool marble of the palace floor.

"You--" Xiven began but was rudely interrupted by Marie dashing off. Xiven let out a low hiss as she watched the figure fade. It didn't matter if she was grieving, no way in HELL was she getting away with such an insult! Ears pressed back against her skull, Xiven dashed after the snake cat as best as she could. Running in her bindings was a pain in the ass. Why couldn't she have something more practical damn it?
When Xiven came to the spot where Marie had changed back into an axe she was panting slightly. The feline snorted and hissed for a moment as she looked down at the axe. "You! YOU! How dare you call me stupid!" Her tail fluffed up to rather massive proportions as she glared at the axe. She didn't even know if she could hear the yelling. "You may be grieving but that doesn't mean you can disrespect another Queen!"
Xiven smacked at the handle before backing away, still puffed up. This was just... GAH! Why was she even bothering? Why did she try to be nice to someone in the first place?

Marie was an axe and she had no plans on answering the irate feline. She'd taken her true form precisely to avoid such confrontation or conversation or anything else that involved communicating with stupid people in this stupid place!
No, the place wasn't stupid. That was her anger making her stupid. This was a wonderful place. It was just full to the brim with stupid. She imagined that most other places were just as bad, if not worse. At least this place had Gaston and Pravus, who were good, and Bernard, who was stupid but on a different level from everybody else. He was the kind of stupid she wanted to pour tea on. Everyone else was the kind of stupid she wanted to hack into with her shiny metal a-
...axe. Her shiny metal axe.
Were she able to wield herself, the girl would have had a bloody face full of weapon. As it was, she just ignored her as best she was possibly able. That seemed to annoy the girl enough to whack at an inanimate object. Stupid.

Xiven gave a frustrated scream. Oh yes. Marie could hear her. That stupid bitch. She hissed again as she lowered he head. Once again she smacked the axe, making it spin around.
"If I had hands. You have no idea what I would do. I just... just... I was trying to be nice to you! And what do you go and do? You insult me and run off and turn into a freaking axe! If I had hands I would throw you across the freaking room!" She took a deep breath. She was just being a brat. She was just being... stupid. Oh damnit.
"Damn you! Why am I acting stupid because you?" The feline flopped down roughly to glared at the axe. She would pick it up if she wasn't afraid of having a mouthful of cat-snake and a broken jaw. That would be a Bad Idea. "Can I at least... move you somewhere so nothing bad happens to you? Of course, you can't answer when you're an axe so I don't know why I'm bothering." She gave a frustrated sigh.
"Mass genocide would just solve everything," she muttered.

Mass genocide could solve a lot of things. On that point, Marie agreed with the feline wholeheartedly. Perhaps this girl would be included in the purge? After all, if either of them were going to do any killing, it was far more likely to be the axe than the young girl. That was just how things worked. She'd killed people before, many times, at the hands of her beloved summoner.
...who was now dead at the hands of his thrice-damned father.
And this girl, this child, was trying to help her after she'd stated her opinion quite bluntly on the intelligence level of most people around her. Why was that help being offered? She was hurt. And confused. And not sure if she should visit Bernard while she was either of those things.
She changed from an axe into her animal form once again, preferring the comfort of fur to the crisp, delightful feel of her skirts swirling around her. Like his had used to do. He had always reveled in that sensation... she remembered tasting the pleasure in his mind like some sort of fine beverage, the likes of which she would never be able to consume. After all, she didn't drink. She didn't eat. She didn't sleep. There was no escape from her loss. She could lose herself in nothing except for violence.
"There is nothing that could happen to me that's worse than what already has," she growled low in her throat.

Brick wall. It was like talking to a brick wall, this was utterly impossible. Why the hell was she hanging around? Why did she feel the need to help Marie when she was being a complete and utter bitch.
"That's true. But you replied to me anyway," Xiven said with a steady voice. "I know perfectly well it doesn't matter what I say, but I really do want to help you. Hell if I know why when you're being the way you are to me, but I'm not lying when I say I want to help anyway I can."
Wow this sounded really stupid. There had to be a better way to put this even without using logic or using logic. Guh. None of it mattered. "This is just stupid. I'm sorry. I'm just sorry for all the shit you have to go through and that no one will understand you. I'm sorry I ever bothered to ask if you were all right. I'll just leave you to be miserable since that's what you really want." The feline stood up and started to walk down the hallway past the cat-snake. What was the point of staying anymore?

Marie's vision hazed over to the point where she wasn't sure if it was tears or anger clouding her eyes. She drew her lips slowly back from her teeth as the girl spoke, calm but angrily listening to the words, her own mood and loss coloring everything. She didn't feel true rage until the girl's last sentence, after which she tried to walk away past her.
Oh, hell no.
"I want him back!" she hissed, then lunged forward and tried to sink her teeth into Xiven's shoulder as she moved to walk by. So what if she was a peer? Stupid girl! Trying to help and making her angrier, because she didn't know what to say, not like he would, and the fact that no one would ever understand her like that again unless she took another summoner - unthinkable! possibly impossible! - just sent her further down the path of rage. She didn't have to be rational. She wasn't a rational being by nature. She was a weapon, meant to be wielded by her chosen person. There was supposed to be nothing after he was gone! Disconnection! But she was real. And she felt loss that she just wasn't equipped to deal with.

The yell and then the pain. Xiven let out a horrible scream when the cat snake bit her. She hadn't expected that, oh god, oh god, her pain ability, it only worked for thirty seconds and that wasn't enough time.
Why was she such a wuss when it came to pain tolerance?
"WELL I CAN'T BRING HIM BACK!" Xiven hissed as she winced with pain. Damn stupid Marie, damn her to Hell! "No one can! I'm fucking sorry we're all useless to you! LET GO OF ME! LET GO OR I'LL--"
Yeah right. Like she could kill an axe. Like she could kill anyone when she was this young. Oh this was stupid. She had done all the wrong things. She should have never tried to help Marie! This is what she got for trying to be nice! Xiven bit her lip. Why was this so complicated?

Marie shook her head, teeth still buried in Xiven's shoulder and probably jerking the wound painfully, tears falling from her eyes and into her fur. She released the girl abruptly and spat out the mouthful of blood and fur that clung to her teeth and tongue, only able to get some of it out. The taste was less than pleasant, and the salt of her tears mixing with it all was even worse.
"Why are you all so useless?! Why is this world so stupid?! If you try to hurt me, you dumb little girl, I'll rip your head off of your shoulders so fast that you'll still be breathing without a throat!" The threat was not idle, though the extent of the damage may have been. She didn't kill without direction. Someone had to actually instruct her to do that. At least, that was how it worked in her head. Taking a life had to be her summoner's decision, and now she had no summoner. Would she never be able to kill again? Would she even be able to kill? It was all so confusing.

Xiven hissed when the wound was shaken, and she flopped to the ground when she was realized. Ow. Stupid bitch. Stupid stupid bitch. What was that for? She bit her because she wanted her summoner back? That was great and all, that was fantastic, but it wasn't going to happen!
She slowly stood up to look at the snake cat, ears pressed back against her skull, her tail puffed up. "I can't answer questions no one can answer. Just... just... I know you can easily pop my head off like a bloody daisy. I don't plan on doing anything stupid. I just... I was trying to... you wouldn't even listen if I told you."
She didn't turn her back this time, she was slowly backing up, keeping her eyes on Marie. What the hell was wrong with her? This was just... this didn't seem like how people were supposed to grieve. The feline stopped when she was out of striking distance, but she still remained on guard. Crap, the blood was getting to her.
"This isn't a matter of who's stupid. It's a matter of the pain you're going through and plan on inflicting on everyone you encounter. So if you want to take out your anger on someone, don't take it out on anyone you might consider worthy of your attention." She hissed.
