"Oi, Poor thing," Peaches said quietly as she pulled out a handkerchief from from her sleeve, wiping the poor little Ace's nose. Being sick like this was never happy, but at least she was trying to eat. Marie would be more difficult. "Just eat Fluffy, try to finish it," she said quietly once again as she scratched behind her ear.
She moved on to the next sickly feline in the room. She set the bowl in front of Xiven, the girl shifted her head to look at her mother as she breathed through her mouth. She raised an eyebrow at the bowl of soup. If she could smell it she probably wouldn't be able to eat it. Good thing she couldn't smell. After a few more moments of meaningful smiles and coaxing the girl finally took a few laps of her soup. She probably wouldn't be able to get through all of it.
Now... for Marie. Peaches looked over at the cat-snake. How the hell did you get medicine in someone who was hallucinating? She looked down at the small bowl she had brought for the girl. She could force feed her, but she ran the risk of getting the spoon bitten in half. This was a terrible pain the ass. Silently as she could, she slipped over to Marie's beside. She was just out of reach of her tail, her bruised ankle reminded her of that. "Marie?" she said clearly. This was going to be a long hard fight.

Fluffy nuzzled weakly into the handkerchief and then lowered her head back down to the soup, staring at it forlornly before taking another few licks. It didn't taste like anything... and not being able to taste was one of her least favorite things. Even worse was having her hearing all wonky because of her stuffy head, everything sounding as it came down a long tunnel before it reached her. Nothing sounded pretty in that tunnel.
Marie heard her name and cracked open her eyes again, having collapsed back into an exhausted semi-sleep after the attack before. The thing was back...? She bared her teeth in a somewhat pathetic attempt at intimidation, breath still wheezing out through her congestion though not as badly as the little Ace.
"Stay away from me, you bastard," she hissed - or at least tried to hiss. It didn't work so well. She didn't seem to know who was really there with her since she very much liked Peaches under normal circumstances. The woman was fun. But now she was just a Threat. "Come one step closer and you're losing a limb."

Xiven twitched in the corner and looked up from her soup. She could barely hear properly but she heard Marie's attempt at a hiss. Her tail twitched a bit before she decided that there was no way she could possibly solve the problem. Mom could handle it just fine.
"Marie," Peaches choked back a hiss, "It's me Peaches, I need you to eat some medicine for me." The woman kept her distance as she tried to figure out a course of action. She didn't want to hurt Marie, but it looked like she was going to have to restrain her to get anything down her throat. If Peaches had a tail at the moment, it would have twitched.
How was she going to do this alone without being bitten. Then she had a very bright idea. Her sleeve could be a usual distraction. She just needed to get creative from there and end up straddling the girl to get the medicine down. This wasn't going to be easy. This was also a very bad bright idea, but she didn't have many options open unless she felt like getting a bunch of people on staff sick. Thank you highly contagious diseases.

Marie hissed again when she heard the words. "Lies. You lie, just like I would expect. You won't get anything down my throat. I'll see you eat your own ass first." Not that she would be able to follow up on that threat in her condition, which worried her immensely. What was she going to do?
The sleeve caught her attention and she went for it, lunging and biting into the fabric, trying to gnaw at it and hold back a pained groan at the same time. Moving like that, lunging and jerks, taxed her aching muscles more than she could believe. She didn't want to move, wanted to just lay down and make it all go away with sleep, but even that was denied to her most of the time. What a horrible illness...
She would be open to Peaches's plan, if only for the simple fact that the illness had already worked on weakening her and she couldn't afford to be flexible without crying out in pain.

"Cute," Peaches muttered before straddling the girl. Being preoccupied with the sleeve gave her enough time to pin her comfortably to the bed. Peaches could only hope that she was sore enough that she couldn't wiggle out from under her. Now for the medicine.
She tore her sleeve from Marie's mouth forced her mouth open to get the medicine in and then held it shut until she swallowed. Not being able to breath through her nose was a small benefit of dealing with this entire mess.
Once Peaches had made sure that Marie had swallowed without much of a choice in the matter. The cat leaped off the girl before she could do anything to trash around. She was not going to be happy because of this, and Peaches didn't know how much energy she had left. Hallucinations can make a person do crazy things, and Marie was going to get worse before she got better.
Xiven watched the entire thing behind hazy eyes. Was Marie even going to remember any of this? The trouble that Mom went through to take care of her was going to go completely unnoticed by everyone, wasn't it? Somehow that seemed unfair... not like Xiven could make any sounds of protest besides a cough and half whimper.

The trick Peaches used worked without a hitch, Marie not feeling anywhere near well enough to properly feed the woman her own ass, or even a finger. She choked and sputtered before the medicine went down, since it was either swallow or suffocate, and couldn't rally a defense soon enough to catch any part of the woman in her grasping claws or teeth.
She let out a half-angry, half-moaning noise in the general direction of the door and closed her eyes, huddling in on herself in an attempt to ignore anything and everything outside of her own little curl. People and things kept attacking her, invading her space, making odd noises and forcing things down her throat, and yet the one person she actually wanted to be around was nowhere in sight. Gone. Forever.

It would take her two and a half weeks to recover from the nasty bout of Jabberhead, with the first week being the only one that tortured her with vicious hallucinations. After that, she could tell that Peaches was giving her the medicine and the woman didn't have any more fits of violence directed at her, even if the whole thing was still an ordeal. The congestion persisted, as did the choppy sleep and sweating, twitching night terrors.
Fluffy seemed the worst of the three in terms of the severity of the infection, though it wasn't especially obvious because she just laid in her bed and made noises occasionally, completely out of it from the combination of illness and medicine. Even she started to get better near the end of the second week, though.

Xiven recovered like the others, still somewhere in the middle when it came to the infection. When she was less of a blob she voiced her concerns about Fluffy. Peaches did the best she could to keep everyone in a good condition despite it all. She was thankful when the signs were starting to clear up.
Peaches walked in the room carrying the usual amount of medicine. Still as disgusting as ever, she laid the dish in front of Fluffy and gave her a scratch behind the ear. "This is the last time you need to drink this for me dear, be a good girl and finish it all." With another pat to the head she wandered over to Xiven and gave her her dish with little protest.
Then she went over to Marie. Peaches withheld a sigh. Marie was going to be miserable even after this ordeal was over with. "Willing to take your medicine today?"

Fluffy looked forlornly at the nasty-tasting liquid inside the dish. Her dark eyes flicked back up to glance at Xiven, imploring her to free her from the obligation, but... she had to drink some again too. There would be absolutely no getting around it, then. With a sad sigh, she looked at it for another minute before taking a deep breath and lapping it up as quickly as she possibly could. For a good minute afterwards, all she could do was just make a displeased face and try scraping her tongue against her pillow to get the taste off.
Watching Peaches approach, Marie's ears went back sullenly and she gave the woman a hiss. "No. It's disgusting. I shouldn't have to take it. I'll be just fine without it. I'm almost better now. You don't need to bring me any more at all. Ever. It's awful." Her ears went back further and her pupils narrowed to slits.

Xiven's ears flicked forward as she listened to Marie complain. Yes, the medicine was horrible, and she personally wanted to eat her pillow now that she was done with it, but she knew full well she had to take it. As fine as she felt, if the doctor said they needed it they did. It was better than getting those shots anyway. The feline turned her head to stare at Fluffy. She made a worried noise as she watched the Ace actually try to eat her pillow. Good job.
"You're going to take it because you need it. All you need do is take this medicine, even if you don't like it, you'll live. Trust me. You don't want to get an respiratory infection because you didn't quite kick the Jabberhead." She said as she tapped her sleeved hands on the bowl. Peaches had no problem giving Marie orders when she was still bedridden. She had been through the nasty medicine herself. "This is the last time you have to take the medicine. One more time. You can do it."
