Stopping her pillow-scraping, Fluffy looked up at Xiven with dark eyes that were still the slightest bit runny from the cold. They weren't full of gunk anymore but she still couldn't stop them from tearing up on a regular basis and making small trails down her face. She stood, looking miserable for a moment, before finally deciding to just crawl over to where Xiven lay and snuggle against her side, burying her face in the girl's fur. She wanted all of this to be over so badly...
Marie continued to glare, the logic not penetrating her indignant mood. She didn't care if she needed it. She didn't want it. "Sure, I can do it. I can also not do it. Which is what I'm going to do. I've had enough of that nasty gunk sliding down my throat, thank you very much, and I'm done with it. You can just take that stuff right back where it came from."

Xiven snuggled up against Fluffy. She wanted this mess to be over just as much as Fluffy did. The only bright side was that they were almost better. It would take a small amount of time to recover fully.
"Don't play this game with me," Peaches half growled as she moved closer to Marie. She was tired of dealing with her attitude, and at the moment she wasn't going to try to make her feel better. If she wanted to play the snot of the century she could do it on her own time. "If you don't... you know what."
She suddenly reached forward and tilted the snake-cat's head back. Peaches forced opened her mouth and pour the medicine down. At this point the Jack didn't honestly care if she was bitten or not. She held the girl's mouth shut against the struggling until she swallowed or tried her hardest to spit it out. Until she succeeded with one Peaches wasn't going to let go.

Between the two of them, Fluffy and Xiven were a warm and fuzzy bunch. Even though having her owner in the room had comforted the Ace before, actually being snuggled up against the girl made her feel so much better there was just no comparison. It would be okay... even if that other girl threw another nasty tantrum and got loud and angry, she had her owner. Everything was okay.
Marie hissed as the woman got closer, baring her fangs. She didn't really want to attack Peaches - she liked her on most days, her random and her penchant for doing strange things - but if she thought she was going to make her drink one more drop of that disgusting-
She let out a shriek as she was grabbed, writhing in the firm grip and lashing out with her tail, keeping her claws sheathed only because this was someone she didn't really want to see dead. The medicine went down and Peaches's legs probably received a nasty lashing from the thick, whippy appendage as the girl twisted in her grip, making a howling noise in her throat even as her mouth was held closed.

Peaches legs did in fact receive a beating. She growled quietly to herself as she let go of the snake-cat's mouth. The woman inspected the damage to her legs briefly and sighed. This is what she got for caring wasn't it? What the hell? When had she decided that being a mother was a good idea?
Rolling her eyes she shook her head at Marie. "That's the last bit of medicine that you need. You won't have to taste it ever again," with that said she waved a coat sleeve and left the room with a slight limp. Ow. That tail really hurt.
Xiven was quiet content with remaining silent. She figured that talking would aggravate the angry snake-cat. Heh. She would be avoiding her for as long as possible after this mess. Helping people was dangerous business. It had gotten her violently ill and bitten. She'd stay away for as long as possible.

Letting out a yowl of indignation when she could finally break free of the woman's hold, Marie hunched her long body and crawled under Xiven's bed, ignoring all of them and sulking hugely. A day or two more and she would be gone from this horrible room she'd spent weeks in with these stupid cats.
She hoped the woman felt those bruises for days to come. Ugh. UGH. Medicine. She now had the greatest of hatreds for the stuff and would never, ever take it again if she had any say in the matter. She would also avoid sick people, even if she had no idea just who she caught this misery from.

A few weeks later, Peaches would find the dead body of a groundhog from the gardens on her bed with a small thank-you note from Marie for taking care of her. The girl had even tied a piece of string around its neck in a small bow.

Peaches walked in from a long day of nothing but paperwork. She accidentally slammed the door behind her. She cringed a bit as she walked over to the bed.
Then she moved the the covers to crawl into bed. Oh. Oh that was fantastic. There was something quite dead in her bed. On closer inspection it had something tied around its neck. She leaned forward and snatched up the note. She raised an eyebrow and snorted. A thank you note from Marie then. How cute.
The cat couldn't help but chuckle to herself as she picked up the groundhog and inspected it. What exactly was she supposed to do with a dead thing? No brain, she wasn't going to make stew out of it.
"Eh, glad you appreciate me Marie," she muttered to herself before untying the ribbon to tie it around her wrist. Now to get rid of this little groundhog. As cute as it was she wasn't going to to keep a dead thing around unless she was going to stuff it.
