Calia was resting on her arms, running her fingers over smooth human skin, taking note of each of her many freckles. Only those on her face were blue, but the others... Were everywhere. That was kind of strange. Of course, this would happen now, when there were bigger and more important things on her mind than her new form. She almost appeared to be in a trance as she mulled the thoughts and events of the night over in her mind, snapping out of it as a cup of tea was placed before her.
She sighed as she leaned back in the chair, letting the warmth of the tea soothe her injured hand before taking a deep sip of it. The steam from the hot liquid felt good on her face, and it was slightly sweet, unlike many of the teas that had uses other than just being a warm beverage. "I'm not really sure, either. I don't know what we should do, Theofilus... A parent should never have to bury their child.[/b]"
She was crying again, but it was much more controlled now, simple and silent tears trailing across her cheeks. She took another deep sip of the tea, not even aware of her crying at this point. "It's delicious, love... Maybe I should bring some to Ez tomorrow?[/b]"
She felt so disconnected from herself. What an awful feeling.

Theofilus took one sip of tea before setting down his cup to watch Calia. She was crying again. That just wouldn't do at all. He slipped out of his chair and walked over to her, leaning forward to wrap his arms around her. He put his chin on her head as he hugged her in silence for a few moments.
"Everything will eventually be okay, it's just going to take time. You can take him as much tea as you want, I'll try to visit him tomorrow." The sparrow wasn't quite sure if his son would want to see him. Actually, Ez would probably slam the door in his face. His mother was always better in times of crisis when it came down to it. She knew the right things to do and say when Theofilus was just awkward.
"I think it would be better if you went to bed. We can deal with everything in the morning. Unless you just want to finish your tea, but I don't think that's as important as your rest."

Calia hesitated at the hug, then let herself be wrapped up in it fully. She felt so small in her human form, small and fragile, and having him hold her like this... It made everything better. She wished that she could help Ez like Theofilus was always able to help her. She clung to his arms, pressing her face in against his arms and letting herself indulge in one last good sob. Her eyes squeezed shut tightly, as if willing the last few tears to come out.
When she was done, she felt exhausted, and she replied with a feeble nod. "Sleep, yes... Please.[/b]" she responded, the tea abandoned in favor of the comfort that he was giving to her. "...thank you, Theofilus. We'd... We'd be lost without you.[/b]" she murmured, kissing the back of one of his hands softly and letting him lead her to the bed.
Sleep took her as soon as she hit the mattress.
