His friend’s sudden anger had him taken aback. Whip was not one to explode, at least not with out just cause, and his reaction to his drunken words had him confused. Swaying on the stool some, his brain trying – and failing – to comprehend what was going on he blinked at his friend in brain clouded confusion. He had never seen his friend react like this, no mater what type of situation they were in.
When his friend got up to leave he stared after him groggily. He did not want to go back, he wanted to stay here and get intoxicated some more. That sounded like a very good plan . . . still.
Staring after his friend moodily he figured he would wait until his friend was out the door before seeing to his drinks being refilled. It had not crossed his mind that his friend would come back for his drunken carcass.

Unfortunately for Aderlass, Rai wasn't just going to leave and, whether or not the thought crossed the drunken mouse's mind, when the stallion rose from the table, he crossed behind the Morganberry's chair. When he was behind the man's seat, the Marshdweller quite deliberately and very much on purpose, grab the scruff on the back of Aderlass' neck and hauled -him- to his feet as well.
Luckily for Shinrai, he easily outmassed the mouse and despite his time in the Court, he hadn't lost any of the muscle built up when he was a child in Elias' evil care. The man was strong and he used it now to physically half-drag his friend away from the table and, slowly and with much ruckus, right out of the bar to the street beyond. The barkeeper didn't know if he should be relieved or ticked, but one stern glance from the stallion stopped any comments or attempts to step in. That one was a smart bartender and Rai would definitely keep that in mind for later.

He could only sputter in indignation as his friend grabbed him by the scruff of his neck and dragged him out of the bar. He had only a moment to grab his cane, his Tove following behind. If it had been earlier in the day he would have been blinded by the change in light quantity but as it was he only had to squint at the change.
“Will you unhand me? I said let go! Get the bloody well off of me!” He sputtered as he tried to get his feet back under him. He could not believe that his friend was dragging him out of the bar like some drunkard. Who did he think he was?
Reaching what seemed to be their destination outside, the mouse pulled himself from his friends grip, and swaying faced his friend. “Do you mind?” he asked in an offended tone.

As soon as they were out of doors, Rai let go of Aderlass, even as the mouse was jerking himself free. The stallion silently braced his stance, then folded his arms sternly under his chest.
"No, I don't mind," the man answered sharply. "And I will continue to not mind until you are back in your right senses." He lofted a brow at the Morganberry, the look challenging. "And just wot are you going to do about it, Aderlass?" You can barely stand up on your own. You can't stop me."
It was the type of brutal bullying that Rai was fairly certain the mouse hated the most. Somewhere beneath all of that alcohol, his friend still lived. Rai just had to figure out how to bring that man back out and get rid of this drunken sot for good.

“Of course I can stand up by myself!” He retorted even as he promptly feel over. Giving his friend a glare, one could assume that the mouse thought it had all been the horse that had pushed him down.
Pulling himself up slowly he stood before his friend on unstable legs. He had forgotten his cane on the ground besides him in his fall. “I can take you down for that!” He called out to his friend, even as he swayed from side to side and gave a hiccup to ruin any dramatic affect he might have managed. He was really getting angry that his friend had come into the bar and had ruined his drinking binge. There was no reason for him to be out here, alone and haunted with the memories. He had failed his friend and now he was dead! He just needed, all he wanted, were for those memories . . . those hauntings . . . to be gone.

The stallion snorted in forced amusement, though there really wasn't anything to laugh at here. But Aderlass was likely still too drunk to here just how hard Rai had to work to put the sarcasm into his voice. "Stand up, take down; you're not man enough to make good on any of your threats. All you've managed to do was take yourself down." The stallion sneered at his friend, tail lashing in agitation that he couldn't quite hide. Again, however, the mouse probably couldn't notice it.
"Why not just roll down in the gutter, Aderlass? That's where you are right now. I'm sure your -dead- friend would be wonderfully pleased to see you here. Wot a fitting memorial to his death! Were you this drunk when he died? Did you just stand by and let it happen?"
Aderlass' destructive spiral had to be broken, and the stallion could think of no other way to get it done. He just prayed that his friend would forgive him for his cruelty once this was all over.

The mouse yelled at the horse both oblivious and ignoring anyone who might be around them. “You don’t know anything! So wot if I stood by? I was not sure wot was going on. Charging in might have caused more harm,” With those words he choked and it took a moment for him to recovery. “Oh suits, oh suits. It is my entire fault.”
Those words . . . they were not true. How could the horse speak thus when he knew nothing of the situation? He never had someone so close die like that, to see someone who was so close kill someone in such a way, or even to have a family member be so selfish that he destroyed others lives in such a way so that they could go on.
“Shut up! Shut up! %$*!@ shut up!” He said, his hands fisted at his side.

It hurt to hear his friend's voice break, to hear that admission. Wot in the world had happened? Where had Aderlass been and who had died? Still, the downwards spiral had to be broken and this was the only way Rai knew how to do that.
"How are you planning on making me do that?" he sneered instead, the worry showing in grey-green eyes even though it was unlikely Aderlass would even notice; the other man was still in too much of a state to be aware of anything beyond his own pain. "You didn't stop that, how are you going to stop me?"
Wot did he have to do to bring Aderlass back from the brink? Wot buttons had to be pushed, wot did he have to say or do to bring back the man he knew? The stallion's ears flicked back in concernation. He wasn't sure wot to do.

How was he going to do that? Had the horse just offered him a challenge? Had the male not heard anything of what he had just told him? He had just killed someone with his own hands, and the horse wanted to know how he was going to make the horse shut up?
Pulling himself to his full bipedal height, though it was nothing compared to that of the horse’s bipedal one, he swayed from side to side having to move his leg once or twice to rebalance himself. His mind was unfocused from the amount liquor he had supplied it within the last few weeks and the lines between reality and his mournful obsession.
His mind affected by the alcohol intake he glared at the horse a moment before he charged his friend. It was probably a move was one that was probably more then predictable for the horse. His only intent was that he had to shut the male up and he knew one way that worked for sure. Death.
