Lani raised an eyebrow and shot Rai's back a thoroughly unimpressed Look as he walked away. She didn't say anything until he was back inside the palace and well out of sight, as well as earshot. Then she didn't really have to care so much.
"What a dick," she snorted, looking over at Xiven. "I mean geez, what does he expect from us? He called us in to meet him and suddenly wants to put us to work. I don't care if he wants it to be free labor or not - the fact of the matter is he wants us to make some stupid organization. If we'd wanted to do one ourselves, it would already exist. And then he has the nerve to get all snitty with you and basically hinted that he's going to foist something off on you in the future that you probably won't like. Bastard."
She rolled her eyes and stood, shaking out her fur. She wasn't going to touch the stuff on the ground - let the servants clean it up when they found it. That was obviously what Rai had assumed. "Thanks for letting me get that out, yeah? I can tell you that I'm not looking forward to the next time I have to deal with him. I thought he was okay before that, but honestly, now? Yeah, he can suck it. I'm going to go talk to my uncle. See you later."
With that, she turned and walked back into the palace, leaving Xiven alone with the picnic remains.

"- and so that's what he said, and that's what I said to Xiven after he left, and - can you see why I'm kind of pissed off, Uncle? I mean, what the fuck, yeah?" Lani stood in front of her uncle, at the end of a nice rant and feeling a lot better for it. Blowing off steam was always a feelgood.
"Xiven's only sixteen and I have no idea whether I'm interested in the Courts or not, and he tries to shove some bullshit assignment off on us as some sort greeting or test or something? I'm not buying it, I'll tell you that, and I'm glad I don't have to deal with him on a regular basis like you do."
