Eldryia shrugged a little. Sure, this stranger seemed like a good person, but to just, open up about everything? It seemed a little soon to do that. Whatever, it wasn't like she had listened to her instincts earlier.

"I don't know okay?" She said with a small sigh. "I just. . want to be useful. To be. .needed? I can't even get drunk right." Eldy said with a pouting motion towards the glass across the table.

".. Does your head always hurt this much when you start to sober up?" She asked quietly, wincing a little at her own words. The kitten used her heart ability and soon the hangover headache was mostly gone. Well that was better, for a while. She raised her eyebrow just a bit, suddenly interested in the squirrels history. Though the edge of her sobering headache distracted her from that interest.

She nodded an embarassed thanks as the water was placed in front of her and began to lap at it. Odd, it actually seemed to help.

"Eldryia." She answered back quietly.

"Oh ney, I don' drink" Zuberi's accent got a bit thicker as she slipped into a bit of creole language. She had.. begun to grin a bit at nothing particular as she took another drag of her smoke.

It might have looked for a moment that the squirrel had just stopped listening, but soon she spoke up again, thoughtfully tapping her ash into a tray on the table before putting her webbed index claw up into the air, as if about to declare something.

"The way ya find ya place in de world, is do find ya own way. Can' be copycattin' all ye life.." Her brows wiggled with amusement at that one, since the girl was a cat and all.

"Eldryia, eh?" She worked her tongue carefully around the little cluster of consonants. "Wit' a label like dat I be thinkin' I'd need to amount to some ting too.." But she was quick to give a good natured wink at that one. It was meant to be a joke.

Yeah, didn't smoke but apparently did other things. The kitten sloshed down some water and began sniffing at the air to see if she could catch the edge of the interesting cloud of smoke. It smelled earthy, and sort of fruity at the same time. Interesting, she sniffed more trying to get some into her lungs to see what would happen.

Eldryia let the squirrels words sink in and cracked her neck a little as the feeling returned to her paws. "Hah." She simply but she did actually smile when she looked back to Zuberi. Yeah okay, that was funny, and true. She still wanted to spy she just. . perhaps she didn't have to be as good as mom?

"Especially with my parents." She rolled her eyes. "But!" She said with a small giggle. "Enough of that boring shit eh?"

She wanted to have fun, or at least to forget about things for a while.

Well, Zuberi was able to tell when a sensitive conversation was over. Leaning forward, she stamped out the burning tip of her smoke and leaned back, considering her options. She'd obviously appointed herself as.. babysitter of sorts to make sure this kid doesn't get into too much trouble. Maybe she'd even offer to escort the little scrap home to give her peace of mind. Right now though, the kid wanted amusement. How the heck was she supposed to do that?

Instead of amusement coming their way though, a rather gruff, ill kept looking Highlander dog came swaggering over, his 6 of clubs contrasting against his white chest. "*hic*.. hey there.. pretty ladies.... wanna spend a little two on one with this piece of Highlander hunk, eh?" He was obviously.. inebriated.

Zuberi's face screwed up into that of disgust, leaning back as if to try to get away from the stink of his breath. "We've no need to be hangin' with the likes of you, mon..." But the man showed no signs of leaving, instead staring leerily at the young Torq feline.

"Ey now! You be leavin' the likes of her alone!" Zuberi was immediately up in defense.. and out of her seat.

Eldryia was glad the more difficult conversation was over. It meant that perhaps the rest of the night could be more fun, or at least, sober. Coming down off of that drunken buzz really did suck, though the kitten assumed she'd be thankful to the small Midori come morning. She had heard stories of hangovers but had yet to actually experience one.

Her eyes snapped up as a sudden voice caught her attention. She was sober enough now to realize this male was not good company. It wasn't his rank or his suit, for surely the female next to her was an even lower rank. But his manner of speech and body language. Thankfully Zuberi took the lead to chase the unwanted attention away. A thought struck the kitten, what if Zuberi hadn't shown up.

She noticed him staring at her in particular and held herself back from visibly shuddering. Had he been watching her for a while? Suddenly she was a whole lot more thankful for the company. Suddenly the man leaned forwards, dirty yellow teeth baring in a grin as he grabbed one of Eldy's arms.

"you want to play don't you pretty lady?"

"Scalp!!" A resounding clap was merely half a breath behind Zuberi's loud cry.. the power of her yell and the odd... sensation that overcame the room let everyone know something.. was going down.

The noise made the Highlander pause, leaning up and away from Eldy to look at the squirrel. He laughed. "What is that? Some sort of magical mumbo jumbo? Come now.. I hardly think you have any power that can affect me..."With that, he gave another bellow of laughter, swiping at the sides of his arms in a dismissive gesture with his paws, as if cleaning something.

And as he did.. the hair in that spot.. merely fell away. Large clumps of it now was on the floor, and it wasn't stopping. At first, terror struck into the man's very soul as he made a choking sound in shock. His silence did not last though, for it was followed by a bellow of anger. "YOU BITCH!!"

Zuberi could hardly jump out of the way in time, sending the man careening into the very chair she sat. Hastily, she grabbed Eldy by the arm. "MOVE your feet, girl! Get out of the way!"

Men jumped from their seats as if to make a move to stop the man but they faltered, obviously fearful that the man might be contagious. From his blow with the chair and the wall, more of the biped's fur had sloughed off, his proud crimson stripes and golden coiled markings now merely.. pretty colors on the floor. Bellowing like a wild animal, he charged again.

Eldryia nearly squeaked as the man first grabbed her, then suddenly a rather strong shout came from her side. Scalp? What the hell was that? She shivered as the edge of the magic ran over her skin. Odd, was all she could think. Eldryia had been around magic before, but she had never felt the spell if it wasn't directed at her. Her eyes shifted uncertainly back to the squirrel, what sort of power did this small 5 have?

Her eyes grew even wider as the highlanders fur began to slough off in great clumps, leaving the floor scattered and covered in white, gold, and red. She was in partial shock as Zuberi grabbed her arm and forced her to move. Just in time too, as the man came careening back towards them. Eldryia nearly tripped over her own ball and chain as she got out of the way. Useless! Again! She had no ability that was useable in animal form to help them, at all. It wasn't like she could pick up a weapon in animal form.

"Zuberi!" She shouted, unsure of what was going on.

[Nako]

"AROOOOOO!!!" The canine howled bestially, turning toward them and running again. They couldn't move fast enough.. The others couldn't grab him in time...

Time.

Stops.

Everything froze, and only Zuberi moved. One second.. two seconds.. She ran... three...

Wrapping herself around his leg, she pushed... pushed with all her damned might to knock the bastard to the side.. toward the bar...

And everyone moved again. The man yelped as he was forced sideways, falling with that damned squirrel fumbling his legs. Everyone saw how he suddenly.. stumbled and fell to the side, and they cringed as the inevitable happened and the man struck his head on the corner of the bar table.

Nearly completely furless, unconscious and bleeding from the head, all the man could do now was lay on the ground and twitch.. moaning unintelligibly. That would be one.. awful concussion.

Dazed, Zuberi stood shakily too her feet, hardly sure what had happened herself. Something had to be done.. and she did it. When the need arose.. she just knew she could. She phased back in to hear the bartender shouting at them.

"Oy! You two! Get the hell out of this bar!" Obviously, not even Eldy's status would get them out of this with how much trouble they had caused.

Grimacing, Zuberi minced over toward Eldy. The bastard must have fell on her leg when they both went down.. it had happened so fast that she could hardly recall exactly what had happened. "Come on.. it's time to go"

Eldryia sat back a bit watching everything unfold around her and unsure of what to do. She began to realize just how little power or ability she had. She couldn't even get herself to move as the man came barreling at them again. This time, there was nothing but pure hatred upon his mind and Eldy was right in the way, frozen.

POOF. Suddenly Zuberi was beside him and he was tumbling to the side. Eldryia watched, still motionless, as they both went tumbling to the side. Finally she snapped out of it when the highlanders head came crashing down to crack against the edge of the table. Blood sprayed about as he twitched upon the floor. Violence. . didn't bother her, neither did blood or fighting. But she herself, had never been attacked. Obviously, she didn't know what to do.

A thought passed through her. She must. . gain abilities. She had to. Her eyes glanced forwards towards the squirrel that was now moving hesitantly towards her. She had gotten hurt. . and Eldy hadn't helped. "I'm sorry. . " Was all she could say as she was led out of the bar. If she had been human, her face would have been stark white.

Zuberi didn't say anything in response at first, merely grimacing as she favored her hind leg. The shock of all that happened had very much killed any of the pleasant feeling she had gotten from her Weed, but at least she couldn't feel the extent of what was wrong with her leg. The bones weren't broken, but it had gotten smashed pretty good.

"... It's okay" She stated finally, pausing in the alley to lean against a wall and catch her breath. Two powers.. both still very new to her used within the time period of hardly a minute.. it was draining. "The piece of shit had it coming to him. If he hadn't been harassing us, it would have been someone else. Maybe he learned a lesson from it."

Sighing, she looked the feline in the eyes. The girl looked rightly terrified. The squirrel's grimace softened, forcing a smile. "Ey now..evrithin's gonna be alright. What do you say we get you home?"
