Why not, was more the question wasn't it? What exactly was so bad about it? Eldryia looked down into her cup, it was rather empty. And why did it take so long for her eyes to focus. The kitten giggled a little, smiling happily at the swill that was left. Alcohol did seem fun. She was almost an adult, not quite. But when she had mentioned her mother for some reason she was suddenly getting service age or not. Eldryia shrugged to no one in particular. Funny how you talked to yourself and made gestures to unheard comments when you drank. The dark cat looked around the bar. She had managed to grab a seat against a wall, and kept her back covered. Screw mom and her teachings. . well she didn't mean that. A feeling of guilt over that thought flooded over her for a quick second. Her mother cared, and was awesome beyond words. One day Eldy wanted to be just like Peaches, but for now. She was having fun. . . lots of it. .. whether people liked it or not! That's the spirit! She thought to herself. Screw the world I'm drinking. She giggled more.

Zuberi was surprised to see someone in her usual spot in the corner, but was even more surprised that the person looked.. quite young. The Midori didn't condone drinking in general, and certainly didn't approve of those who were underage partaking in it either. With a frown, she shot the bartender a questioning look, but he skillfully avoided her gaze. Ah. It was one of -those- situations, then.. a special case. With a long sigh, Zuberi sidled over to her regular table. The girl was still staring at her glass. Reaching out with a webbed paw, she delicately pushed the cup out of reach from the girls' grasp and sat down, a disapproving look clear on her face. "A little young to be drinkin', aren't you?" Not watching how she spoke, her tone came out in a strong Midori accent. Well, she wasn't in the mood to watch what she was saying. In fact.. you might say she was in a rare -bad- mood.

Eldryia was quite happy staring at the liquid sloshing about in the bottom of her cup. She hardly even realized as the cup was shoved away from her until it was across the table. Fitfully she went to reach for it and frowned, it was too far and her paws were too short. Instead she ended half on the table before sliding back to her seat with a frown. Hum, perhaps the drink was done?
She turned to motion for another one when she noticed the female beside her and hiccuped just a little. Oh. . she had moved it. . . that made sense. Too young?
"I'll. . have you know I'm 17, 19." she said, horribly NOT covering her truthful slip. She tried to point at the midori before realizing she didn't have fingers then stared at her paw for a minute. Huh, she could have sworn she had fingers. Oh well.
(.. 18 is legal here, we'll say it's the same in SoD land for now XD)

"You're not foolin' anyone, I'm afraid, and I be not carin' who ya parents be, for that be prolly why you were allowed in here in da first place.." Wow.. she was very much laying it right out there, wasn't she?
The young one, on the other hand.. well, she was very much drunk, fumbling her paw digits at her oddly before bringing it close for further inspection. Zuberi quirked a brow and stared at the feline for a minute before shaking her head. What she'd really like to know, is if this Torq was actually this happy all the time. It would certainly be a first for the squirrel to see a genuinely happy card from that part of the world.
Rolling her eyes, she propped her head up with her hand-paw, regarding the girl for a moment. "So, what make ye think that ye need to be drinkin' in de first place?"

Eldy squinted, trying to bring the squirrel into focus. Dammit that was too easy, she must be sobering up, maybe. "Yeah well half my parents don't even know I'm their's because they'll kill me so there." Yay for sharing too much for no reason! Drinking was fun.
Eldyria sat for a minute thinking. What was she thinking about? She wasn't quite sure. Wow her head was fuzzy. She grinned down at her cup, oh wait. . . The cat blinked remembering it was across the table. Huh, that was odd when did it move?
She stared for a second before she turned to the Midori again. "You're accent is pretty." She tried to imitate it, horribly. Wow that was bad but Eldy didn't really notice.
"Oh. . drink? Um. . life?" She giggled. Wow, what a horribly bad reply to that question. She grinned silly at the small female.

Oh lawd. Leaning back, she regarded the girl with a careful eye before further sliding the glass away. She was sobering up... a little bit. She'd rather get the girl completely straight faced before she left this place.
"And ye think that ye be doin' yaself good by getting plastered here? What if you run into.. whoever it is tonight and tell him you exist in a drunken stupor, eh? Well, you'd be dead."
With a frown still etched on her face, she busied herself will rolling a smoke. She needed to bring herself down from this sour mood, and it wouldn't hurt to have the girl around as long as she didn't keep drinking. If the company got too rowdy though, she might just have to leave her to her own devices. Her situation though, sounded more complicated than the sight before her. Maybe not just a drunk child, but maybe someone looking for a way out of a life of secrets. A rather tragic story really, but she could count the tragic stories she's heard in her short life ten times over on her fore and hind paws.

Eldryia watched the squirrel push her drink further away and frowned, even if only for a moment. Why did she not want her drinking? Her head bobbed a little and her eyes fluttered as a wave of fatigue washed over her. She hadn't been here that long had she? The cat shook her head just a little before registering the question that had been asked.
"Dead? . . Naww." No one would kill her, except for her own father. She giggled again as the irony in that thought caught her funny. Must be the alcohol, usually it wasn't amusing at all. Though really, she'd been caught spying before, and been punished horribly for it. What did Eldy really expect of life? Honestly, she expected to be raped or captured or something. She just couldn't be as good as mom at spying and it's all she wanted to do.
She hiccuped again, focusing on the Midori a little more. Watching her roll . . something. "Wassat?"

"Something else you're too young for." Zuberi stated, but this time she laughed. "I like to call it the lesser of two evils. People have died having too much of that." She gestured to the empty glass before licking the paper of her smoke to seal it. "Can't say anyone has ever died from Midori Weed alone."
Any Midori knew the importance of being a responsible, mature adult before using the Weed. It was.. harder to explain it to a person that didn't grow up in the culture of it all. "It's not something that can be used all the time though, friend. I... use it to see what I couldn't see before." Now she felt awkward. It was difficult to explain to anyone, even fellow Midori the spiritual properties of this drug, as well as its creative properties. It was.. an intimate experience that couldn't necessarily be shared.
She lit up her weed, taking a drag off of it, holding it in for merely a pause before letting the thin trails of grassy smelling smoke escape her nose. It was a very mild strain for a very mild smoke; she never smoked the stuff potent enough for a Weed Dream while in public.

Eldryia opened and closed her mouth a little as it began to feel more dry the longer she wasn't drinking. She watched with fuzzy interest as the little female rolled and licked the edge of the smoke. She supposed she was aware that people died because of alcohol, though had always assumed it was because of stupid decisions because of it. Not necessarily because of the alcohol itself.
She quirked her head at the next sentence. Strangely. . somehow she understood if only slightly. Like mother's ability to go through mirrors and see people even if they couldn't see her. . . She really needed to try harder. The hiccups were gone and soon the slight depression began to set in again. Damn it, she'd never amount to anything. . .
Eldy looked back to Zuberi and watched the smoke curl around her nose with a sigh. She wasn't allowed to do anything.

Zuberi frowned in response to the child's own saddened face, taking another drag and regarding the situation carefully. It was one of those... delicate moments where she should probably say the -right- thing.
"Why you in such a hurry to grow up? What are you trying to prove?" Before the girl could answer, Zuberi waved over a bartender and ordered a water for the both of them. "I'd live up those years of childhood if I were you. I wish I had. I wanted to grow up too fast too... and next thing I knew.. I -had- to." Her expression knit into that of a thoughtful.. even a sad one.. but she brushed it away. Never expect someone who is drunk to be able to sympathize with one's sorrow. As the bartender came back by, she accepted the drinks and slid his money over to him, scooting a water over to the feline. "The name is Zuberi, by the way."
