The stallion was slightly tense as the doctor continued to go over his myriad of wounds, but the stinging and cleaning finally stopped and he began to relax the rest of the way, head bowing slightly as sleep threatened to overcome him. He had the feeling he should stay awake and occasionally his head would bobbed as he tried to keep it up and be aware. It didn’t occur to him that he hadn’t really been aware through his transportation to the back alley, then the inn, nor throughout the length of his examination.
It was likely fortunate for him, however, to be in the care of Machaon; the man seemed to genuinely care about his patients, a fact Shinrai would greatly appreciate once he was again aware and cognizant. For now, however, he tried to fight off the need to sleep, but it was slowly overwhelming his desire to be awake. In just a few more minutes, the stallion was asleep.

Machaon watched over the stallion for awhile as he cleaned himself off after the small ordeal, packing up most of his things and setting them in a readily accessible spot should he need them suddenly. Sighing slightly he grabbed the pillow off of his bed and tossed it onto the floor, going over and checking the stallions eyes before it fully fell asleep... still alittle bit dialated, but much closer to a normal level it seemed. After ensuring that nothing else needed his immediate attention he lay down on the other side of the pillow, resting his head atop of it so he could watch the green stallion as it slept.
For awhile he was glad that he was a very nocturnal person by nature, but soon enough he found himself starting to get drowsy... He fought it off for a pretty long time, finally deciding that the big beast of burden could survive a couple minutes without his watchful eyes.
Sometime later, when the sun had risen he was still asleep, not fast asleep but definitely dozing. Given enough time he would probably awake in the early afternoon, unless something disturbed him in the mean time.

Shinrai felt the first vestiges of wakefulness seep into his body, and grey-green eyes briefly flitted partially open before slipping back closed again. The brief glance around the room was slowly sinking into his consciousness, however. And his exhausted mind was slowly contemplating wot it had seen. Yes, it was a spacious room and it seemed very nice, but wot was gradually becoming evident was… this wasn’t his room!
With a sudden surprised snort, Rai’s head popped upwards, adrenaline shooting quickly through his body. His eyes went swiftly across the room, hesitating on the strange dozing Card nearby. Where was he and why did he hurt so badly? He fought down fear and panic to try and a think through wot he knew.
Last night… he was in the bar. He got very drunk and met some woman…. Ma… Me… Mnem? There was a bar fight, right? Maybe… He couldn’t remember! He couldn’t seem to remember anything after being in the bar. His ears folded back. How the snot had he ended up here? And who in the world was that man?

Machaon began to stir after he heard the loud snort from directly in front of him, it didn't immediately register that it was something important as sleep was pretty much covering the forefront of his minds abilities. Slowly though, the panicked sounding breathing and such caused him to wake up again, sitting up groggily he seemed almost unconcerned with the panicked person ahead of him. Rubbing the tiredness from his eyes he looked up towards the horse. "Up I see...." He yawned and blinked a few times to clear his vision. "How are you feeling? You were rather out of it last night." He had a pretty professional, if not tired sound to his voice.
Whenever possible Machaon tried to wake up when his internal clock told him to, getting up earlier than that always made him overly groggy. Still function able but a little bit impaired in the common sense department. It also meant that at the moment he had forgotten that he should probably explain to the stallion what exactly had happened. Oh well, that'd happen in a moment or two most likely.
Hopefully shinrai would not freak out when he noticed the cuts, or spots of blood that had not been cleaned up too well that surrounded where he had been sleeping... Or that entirely seperate stain further away from them.

"That seems so," the stallion answered slowly and carefully, putting his easy-going mask back on, though his eyes still rolled slightly white and his ears were back. He could fake his way through good-naturedness as well, he just wasn't overly pleased about having to do so. But until he better knew who this strange Card was, it was safer to do so.
"Perhaps, sir," the stallion said a bit dryly. "You could explain who exactly you might be and wot the snot happened to me last night." Since he, oddly enough, couldn't recall a thing about last night. It worried him greatly, but he really wasn't certain wot he could do about it just yet. He couldn't remember any previous instances of forgetting wot all had occurred, though he had blacked out before. Even then, however, that had been accompanied by the knowledge that he had drunk far too much. He wasn't certain he had this time. But there didn't seem to be any other explanation. And gads! He hurt! It felt like someone had attacked him!

(( *Returns from the abyss, or some other dark place... probably near his computer* ))
It was taking a bit for Machaon to become conscious to the point that the logical part of his brain began to function again, but slowly and surely it did. His patient seemed scared, freaked out and probably rather unsure of whether he had been helped, or kidnapped to this place. The stallion did, however, seem to be attempting civility. That was good.
"Sorry, I'm a bit tired... Allow me to introduce *yawn* myself, I'll tell you what I know in a minute, although it is not that much." He nodded his head and stretched out his arms a little bit as he got up to a standing position, beginning to wander toward his medical bag. " I am Machaon, a doctor from corvistowne." He motioned to the seven of hearts tattooed on his chest to illustrate his rank. "Last night a good Samaritan found you passed out in an alleyway beside one of the local bars, " He paused as he pulled a magnifying glass out of his bag, turning to face the stallion again. "You were covered in little cuts and bites, and heavily drugged. We brought you back here so I could keep an eye on you overnight, and you could rest somewhere more sanitary than a back alley." There was another pause as he walked back up to the green stallion, motioning for him to lean down so he could check the others pupils again. "The only thing you mentioned while out of it was something about banders..." He kept a careful, and keen eye on the stallions features as he said that. He wanted to know if it stirred some sort of memory or not.
Mostly out of curiosity than anything, he really wondered how this fellow got in so much trouble. And he also wondered who in their right mind would use those little critters as a means of damaging someone... There were many more direct, and efficient ways of doing that.

The stallion's ears flicked backwards as he followed the other man's directions, trying to keep his uneasiness from showing, though it was unlikely he could hide it from a doctor. "Well, it's a... pleasure to meet you, I'm sure," the equine Marshdweller said quietly, pretending that he wasn't entirely out of his league and more than a little uncomfortable. In fact, he was incredibly uncomfortable and pretending he wasn't didn't seem to be working.
Nothing of wot the man said rang any bells and the stallion's face reflected that; not even the prompt about banders brought a flash of recognition. In fact, if anything, the man seemed even more baffled than before. Heavily drugged, cut up, words about banders? Wot in heaven's name had happened to him? Who would know?
"Who... Do you know who it was who found me?" There was quite a bit of hesitancy in that question.

It was pretty evident that the main effects of the drugs had worn off, and the stallion was as uneasy and lost as would be expected of any sane person. His pupils seemed to be within a normal size once again aswell. He nodded at the small return of formalities he received from the stallion... He had to admit he was a bit dissappointed when he saw the utter lack of reaction from his prompt, oh well.. Another unsolved mystery it would appear.
He had begun to inspect the cuts and such again when he asked his question, giving a small nod in response before he looked back up into the persons eyes. It took him a moment and he bit his lip slightly as he thought. "Oh, yes. He was a nice man, a mouse by the name of Aderlass. Very unusual red colouring and some nice horns ." He looked back down at the cuts, beginning to move along side of the horse. "Do you know him? " He asked non-chalantly. Wondering idly if perhaps aderlass had more to do with this than he initially suspected... Although, with his brief experiences with that mouse, it seemed drugging and chewing on a random green horse would probably be below him...
One could never really tell though, weirder things cropped up all the time and who was he to judge what exactly was going on? Especially since his extreme lack of knowledge in these happenings still seemed to be much more than the actual victim knew himself!

Green ears flicked back uneasily yet again and the stallion took a long moment's hesitation to scan his memory. But, really... no. None of that rang a bell and he was fairly certain he would recall a bright red mouse with horns. He was fairly certain he'd remember a mouse with horns! How common was that combination?
The doctor seemed perfectly calm about their strange circumstances and Rai had to briefly wonder just how weird this was for the strange looking pine marten. Perhaps this was how the odd Corvisetowneian got all of his patients. That idea was more than a little creepy, though, and the stallion tried to put it from his mind.
With that desire, he tried for some levity. "Well, doctor, am I going to live?" It was, of course, an idle question for him; he felt just fine despite being sore and hurting in some places.
