After another brief survey of the horse, the doctor took stepped back then gave him a thoughtful look. Eying the green one with what seemed to be a very appraising gaze in response to that question, and after a few moments he shook his head. "I'm afraid you're going to die, you only have about thirty or so years left at this rate. More if you're very lucky." He said in almost utmost seriousness, although unable to help but crack a smile near the end.

He turned and returned the magnifying glass to his bag, closing it up again as he let out a small sigh. "And before you ask, this is not my normal means of business... I hate coming to the capital, and this is definitely not where I would normally choose to do my work. You were just... Lucky I guess." He yawned again, then idly began to wonder if perhaps there was some place to get coffee or tea nearby... He could definitely use some, possibly some food too. He wasn't so sure about the stallion, but after the drugs and drinking it probably had some sort of hangover.

Surprise chased across the stallion's features until the doctor managed to finish his 'joke'. It took a small effort to pull off something like a real laugh, even though he wasn't actually feeling it. "Heh, heh. Yeah. Right." He cleared his throat uneasily and watched the other man's movement with interest.

"Yes, I guess I did luck out in this case." This, at least, came out with a hint of true fervour. "Your assistance was greatly appreciated." His ears flicked back trying to hide the pain that Mach had guessed at. "Unfortunately, I doubt I have any money left on me now, but I will gladly pay you once I have a chance to refill my wallet." And he really was, especially if it would give him a chance to cement any sort of alliance or connection with the doctor. Not many would have done as the pine marten had.
