Down a side street, quite a distance from his home, stood a very nice, modestly sized park. It had plenty of trees, a nice lawn, and, oddly enough, was not often haunted by others. When they did come out, it was in droves, but in the moments of peace? Ahh. The stallion took a deep, bracing breath and released it again slowly. It was looking to be a beautiful, quiet day in the park. Fortunately. With all of the strangers he’d been running into lately, he deserved a day off. The stallion’s tail twitched complacently as he took another slow turn around the area. --- The small fox trotted swiftly down the streets, looking around curiously. She was a little bit lost, actually. Phyr was at home, at least, she had been when the small fox had headed out, and so she was on her on this day. She wasn’t really certain –why- she’d want to go out, but she’d given into the feeling on the grounds that she trusted in her own mind and body. Little purple feet padded quickly across the cobblestones.

[OOC: LOL...A Modest Proposal...] Vertumnus headed straight for the park, hoping to be able to loose his annoying younger siblings. It had only been a matter of time before Silvanus had finally introduced him and his sibling to their new younger ones, and since then, they could never leave him alone. Some more then others. Some being the three that were following him currently. Severus and Mephitisia were the two that never seemed to get along with the younger siblings, and because Xylia was near Mephi most of the time, the last older 'cool' sibling left was Vertumnus. No matter what he said, they still seemed to follow him around. The three that were following him, came in similar deerish forms, but were instead mixed with Kahmden, unlike his own siblings who were mixed with Corvistowne. It had come as a shock to Vertumnus that his mother was not the only woman in his fathers life, for the worst. He didn't really know what to think about the situation, and he almost wished it wasn't true. His siblings were slowly gaining on him, the two males, Claudius and Aurelius were quickly gaining, while Ilana was following at a polite pace. "Wait! Slow down Vertumnus! We want to come play with you." whined a slightly defeated sounding Aurelius. Vertumnus almost felt bad for him. He was sure that Kahmden siblings werent as bad as Corvistowne ones, but he still felt bad that his brother, like him, was the only Avington of his litter. It was hard to explain everything an Avington went through in there life...but he felt a bit of a fondness for Aurelius because of this. It seemed Aurelius really cared for him to. But he just couldn't stand being harrassed by 3 younger siblings. He was a teenager for crying out loud!

Finding out she was out of dandelions had been an irritation and a disappointment, especially since she had planned on having Minh try out a new tea mix she was cooking up. Her feline friend was quite used to being involved in Mnem's culinary experiments, and the canine prided herself on the fact that a vast majority of the time such experiments were successes. Mnem had little hope of refining Minh's palate, but it was something with which she could waste time when not working on her poisons or other brews. Fortunately, dandelions were not an uncommon material. They were just nonexistent where Minh and Mnem currently lived. Nothing seemed to grow in that part of town except slime, both of the natural and more people-like varieties. That left the park. She had discovered the place some time ago while taking a walk, and aside from reminding her of the greener pastures of the Gardens, it had functioned well as a place to gather more common plants and a place to sit and clear her head. It was also a good place to meet Aderlass to collect supplies, which, aside from dandelion accumulation, was also the order of the day. Not all was well at the park, however. She stopped in her tracks, and turned to Minh with dismay. " Children."

He had only arrived back to the capital the other day from a run he had been sent on by Mnem, and already he had been sent a letter from her designating a meeting place to exchange her goods. “The park?” he reread the letter again to make sure he had read it correctly. Why in the world would she want to meet in such a place?, he wondered. He sincerely doubted that she would be one to like children, so the fact that she wanted to meet him in a place that seemed sure to attract them seemed odd. Though, he admitted to himself, somewhere like a bar might be questioned by others. Mnem would not take the chance to have her precious work discovered. Well, he had better hurry up and head out if he planned on being on time. Though theirs was a partnership, Mnem might still be able to do something he would not like, should he upset her too much.

Comprehension regarding Mnem’s sudden and complete change in behavior was rather slow in coming. Minh had always rather liked children, as long as they stayed away from her lab. They were adorable and inquisitive and oh so malleable. She absolutely loved her little nieces and nephews, though her brother and his husband and finally gotten to the point that they’d forbidden her to spend any length of time alone with them. She was still arguing against the restriction—she honestly didn’t see the harm of teaching them how to make their own fireworks. They’d figure out the chemistry eventually on their own—she was just saving a few fingers along the way. That Mnem didn’t like children was a rather difficult concept to grasp, though Minh supposed with the canine’s rather debauch lifestyle any sort of youngster wasn’t particularly welcome. Still. “So…you don’t like children. And we came to the park…because?”

The fox paused in her swift pace as she caught sight of a whole herd of young deer trotting by. Large ears pricked up in interest at the strange parade and the next thing she knew, her feet had been diverted, following the hooved creatures into a nearby park. She really didn’t have a reason to go after them… Her silence meant that it was difficult to get points across to those she didn’t know. But she still followed on.
They passed a canine and feline, the first bright and tri-coloured, the other black with blue-green markings. Her pink eyes inspected them briefly as she followed the group on by. Inside the park, another hooved being was taking a slow turn around the grounds.
Shinrai walked around the edge of the park, stride hesitating very briefly when he spotted the troop heading in now. Well, it should be alright, as long as they kept to themselves and left him in peace. His tail began it’s usual tapping from one hind quarter to the next as he continued his easy going walk.

Just as Vertumnus thought he could make it to the park and attempt to loose his siblings, he turned around to look back and see another child in his wake. Who was this long haired fox like Miirian? He had never even met this child before! It must be some kind of nightmare. Random children joining the mob following him? It just had to be! "Leave me alone! he grumbled more to himself then the children following him, knowing it would be little use to show that at them. They would still continue to harrass him anyway. He knew at that age that is what he would have done aswell. Curses.
As he passed the brightly colored canine from the Gardens and what looked to be the familiar face of a Corvistownian, he looked at them his eyes slightly pleading, and looking back at the children following him. Little did he know he would be asking the wrong people..."Help me..." he pleaded in true 'I as a teenager should not have to affiliate myself with younger siblings' fashion before taking off in a sprint. He headed for the bushes nearby, hoping that he would be able to travel through them and loose the younger mob. However, he found manuvering through the bushes to be a little harder then it used to be. He certainly was no longer a child.
Claudius lead the group, stopping momentarily when the older buck stoped to say something to the adults, before rustling through some bushes and seemingly vanishing from sight. "Hey you guys! I think Tumnus wants to play hide and seek!" he said with a smile before attempting to head after his half brother. His two other siblings, however, got a little tied up with the new company. Of course, the moment Aurelius saw the new child following them, he just had to stop and intoduce himself.
"Hello...My name...is Aurelius. I couldn't help but notice you following us."[/b] he said, blushing slightly as he introduced himself. Aurelius was a strange creature, and Ilana was sure it had to do with the Avington secret that he held away from even her! She felt badly for her brother, and was secretly glad that she had not inherited such a horrible secret like she could have. She was the last to reach the fox of the two, once she had noticed Aurelius heading back the way they had come. She simply smiled at the pretty purple fox before turning to her brother. "Aurelius...we are going to loose Vertumnus and Claudius if we don't keep up!" she pleaded with her seemingly puppy love struck brother. He sure didn't know how to reign in his feelings! And for a complete stranger. She looked to the purple fox again, "My name is Ilana. You are welcome to join us if you would like! But we really should try to catch up. I don't even know where they have gone." she said...looking around a bit sheepishly. Aurelius felt bad that he had made he and his sister lost from the side of their brothers...but he couldn't help it...he wanted to know everyone...and be everyone's friend...it was just...the thing that seemed to drive him. Upon hearing that the fox could join them, he grew excited. He smiled at her "Yes! Please join us...erm....what's your name?"

Shinrai could hear the catcalls amongst the children and especially something about a game of hide and seek. He quickly reversed directions again, heading back the other directions to hopefully avoiding getting collided into during this game. His strides were unhurried, however; though he may not especially like company, he was rather careful of children. He never wanted to be the cause of any sort of terror or mental or emotional anguish like wot he himself had experienced. He simply wanted to be left in peace.
Kare’s eyes were wide as the two young deer nearly fell upon her for conversation. Her pink eyes showed her surprise and excitement, but her mouth did not open to speak. Perhaps the blue and pink writing covering her body would give a clue. Forever Silent swirled all across her violet hide. Misleading or not, the small child –could- speak, she just didn’t. Almost ever. So she ended up tilting her head to the side and sent them a hopeful, encouraging look anyway. She wanted to come along to wherever they were going, it seemed like the right thing to do.

Entering the park, he looked around trying to see if he could catch sight of his partner. His attention was distracted from its task, however, by children running around. Narrowing his eyes in aversion, he spent only a moment of his time to take notice that they were not heading his way, thankfully, before he commenced again on his search for the canine.
The next thing to snag his attention was that of Mnem and Minh. He quickly scanned around the area, there was a green horse that looked familiar, to which he shook his head trying to escape the idea that he knew the creature. There was no way that Whip would be here. Seeing nothing of a threat, he made his way swiftly over to their meeting place.
Reaching it and the two, he held up a paw in greeting. “Why did you want to meet here, of all places?” He asked to Mnem, eyeing her with suspicion.

Mnem's eyes flickered momentarily to the children in the distance--though they weren't nearly distant enough, as far as she was concerned, and for the love of all that was worthwhile in this world she hoped the wouldn't come closer--and then she turned back to Aderlass.
Normally the park was not nearly so occupied, and it was as good a place as any to pick up a few plants in relative silence. Not today, obviously. But even with the brats lurking about, there was no real danger. Better than doing an exchange somewhere really public, like a restaurant. Though perhaps that would be preferable to children.
She answered Minh and the mouse's questions at once, since they had both asked her essentially the same thing. "This place is usually quite a bit more...devoid of child-like beings. Aderlass, darling, you do have my blue-freckled mushrooms, correct?"
