Lysaras pulled at the edges of her long, purple silk gloves nervously. Soon the young one would arrive, what was her name? The Canine paused for a few moments, the furry fingers of her Bipedal form twining in her thickly curled black hair. She often found that her Bipedal form made others feel more comfortable around her, even though she was a Queen, made them open up...and tell her why they were really there... Lleurela. That was it, Lleurela, from the Villa en Miir. The application letter had sounded so promising. A sweet musician from the Villa, wanting to become a Jack, maybe even a part of Lysaras' own Court. She beamed, she loved people who took interest...especially when they behaved more like people than animated objects...like most of her courtiers. She couldn't wait to meet with the author of the charming letter...she simply sounded like someone that Lysaras might finally be able to confide in. Of course...this meant that she would have to preform the preliminary Quest with.... The Queen shut her eyes against the thought of her lead King, the best magician in her Court...if only he wasn't worth so much...then perhaps she could be rid of his presence... But, as it was, the child would have to suffer through his "teachings", however rough he may be...it wasn't as though he was bad. No, Lysaras simply hadn't been good. That had been the only problem...of course. Perhaps he would even treat this poor girl with respect? Smiling with a hope she did not feel, the Queen of Spades stepped through the hallways of thick stilted green and black marble toward the archway near the gate. Soon the child would arrive, she would give her a warm welcome and some tea...to calm her nerves. It would never do for her to go out to the quest nervous...especially not around her instructor. Adjusting her gloves for a final time, she wagged her tail gently, and waited. ((OOC: Normally the Quests won't take as long as this one, but since we're adding in her meeting with Lysaras...it might just be two to three posts longer XD))

Lleurela cautiously entered the Court of Spades with measured steps. Her small ratty leather pouch full of a single rose petal and her precious whistle bounced along at her side. Elegy sat quietly on her shoulder, cooing encouragement into her ear. She watched the walls pass her by as she headed in the direction she had been told beforehand by the guard to go. A smile lighted upon her lips as she noticed that some of the rock work was made by Villa region stone. As she reached the final door into the room she was meant to enter she slowed down. Lleurela's head moved upwards taking in the large expanse of door, barely noticing the guard opening it for her. Slowly she progressed into the room and she stopped suddenly when she saw the Queen... So.. beautiful She bowed quickly low to the ground sweeping her arm out of the way, not in form, but so she could actually bend XD. Ah the joys of being a little. . . rounder. "L... Lleurela to see you Your Majesty"

Lysaras turned toward the door at the sound of small pattering feet, she smiled, lips held shut so that her large canine teeth wouldn't seem intimidating to her guest.
"Welcome, my dear. You must be Lleurela." She moved gracefully toward the small chipmunk, her gown hissing softly over the marble floor, her paws and claws making a small clicking sound...so much more comforting than the heavy steps of the shoes that one's human form required. She dipped her head in acknowledgment.
"Please rise, my dear, and come with me, I hope you will take tea with me in the drawing room?" She smiled, coaxing the other into following her down a smaller corridor to a small eloquent door near the gardens. Inside is a stunning observatory, large glass windows filling the room with sunshine, and plush, overstuffed chairs. "Do have a seat and I'll call for drinks." She smiles again, warmly. Remembering how it felt to have to address one higher up...how it felt to have someone unkind looming over you when all you wanted to do was ingratiate yourself...to crush a potential friendship.
Lysaras would have none of that here. She liked the look of the girl, soft and sweet, but with purpose...and potential. She would be quite the addition...Lysaras was in need of a representative from the Villa. Some of the elders there could be so cold when not dealing with one of their own...
"So you seek to become a member of my Court, I hear? Jack-hood as well?" Her eyes smile along with her lips, she can't help it, the girl is charming. "I think you seem a fabulous candidate already, Lleurela, do you have any questions? Oh, what tea will you take?"

Lleurela lifted her head again and watched Lysaras approach her. She could feel the welcoming and warm personality radiating off the canine in a way that she hadn't felt much in the past. It was an unusual gift, to be able to make someone feel comfortable, but the gentle Lysaras seemed to have a knack for it.
"I'd.. l.. love to be able to have ... tea with you. It would be an honour." She flushed at the invitation. Lleurela honestly hadn't expected to meet the Queen before the guard at the front had informed her she would have a meeting with the Queen before her trial. It all made sense once she thought of it though. What Queen would stand by and allow people into her court without meeting them first. It would be bad management really.
Her hand drifted absently to her pouch, fingering the small whistle within for a sense of comfort as she entered the gorgeous room. Lleurela glanced at the offered chair and with a seconds hesitation climbed up and sat back on her haunches. She was aware that for her shape rocks were as good as chairs really XD She could outbalance anyone in the trees but she didn't have legs to hang over the front of chairs. hehe
Lleurela gave her attention to Lysaras and answered her questions.
"I.. I do wish to become part of your c.. co.... court." She beemed as she saw a genuine smile on the Queen's lips. That was two Queen's now she had managed to be friendly with. They really did seem like nice people.
"Um I ... do have questions. T.. Though I don't want to sound.. um." She glanced around for the words. "Silly? Or.. Do you have.. m.. . many musicians in your court? Oh, um t.. tea? I like anything .. really. Though something from. . . t. . .the Villa would be nice." She blushed furiously. "On... only if it's convenient. Thou.. though. . . Sorry." She smiled meekly at Lysaras.

Lleurela's stuttering was not unexpected, Lysaras was used to various episodes of quaking and nervousness in her presence. It was expected, as long as there were Queens like Serafino...it would always be expected...
Lysaras smiled and nodded. "Tea from the Villa would be lovely, do you favor elderberry?" She turned toward the door as she said this and smiled to the courtier waiting in the shadows. The canine smiled and hurried off, claws clacking on the marble.
She returned her attention to the small chipmunk, her eyes roving over the other and noticing her demeanor. Lysaras may not have been the most forward of Queens, but she was good at reading people. While the girl was nervous, she was heartily determined...not like the others who came simply because their parents told them to...because it was what was just done. No, this girl was here because she wanted to be... Which made her all the more welcome.
"Musicians?" She asked, as the Canine seemed to re materialize almost at once with a pot of tea and a tray of delicacies. "No, we don't actually have any at the moment. The position would most certainly be yours if you would so desire. I do love music, especially that from the Villa...the sound is always so much more...complete."
She smiled encouragingly at her companion, trying to raise her confidence before sending her off for her quest...she would need it.

If only Lysaras knew she wasn't stuttering so much because she was meeting the Queen of Spades, but more because well. . . she was meeting someone. XD So far Lleurela really quite liked the Queen of Spades, she had a soft kindness in her eyes. "I. . . quite l. . like Elderberry. Such a . . . rich flavour."Lleurela noticed the gentle lingering of Lysaras eyes and blushed a little, looking around the room at the decor. She was cut from her determined 'unnoticing' by the Queen's answer to her question. No musicians yet, oh the poor people. M. . Me!? Head Musici.. .Mu. . .Musician. I would be s. . . so honoured. A small tear escaped from her and rolled down her cheek. Lleurela's joy was overbounding and she could hardly contain it. . . If only her mother were still here to tell! But. . her father would be so proud. But first, first she must pass this test before she allowed herself too much joy. She raised her head back up from the inner struggle and looked at the Queen with so much hope and compassion. "Thank. . you. For t. . . this opportunity. You d. . don't know how much it means . . . to me."

The Queen smiled as she sipped at her tea. She watched the girl stutter her delight through her nervousness. It was almost as though she expected Lysaras to start yelling at her, or to leap up and exclaim that it had all been an elaborate joke. Soon, though. Soon she would feel welcome....she hoped.
"I feel you'll make a magnificent Court musician." She murmured, smiling and sipping her tea, eyes trained on the girl. "Lord Serafino informed me of your magnificent talent. His word has yet to be taken lightly. I can't wait to hear you play sometime, perhaps after your meeting I might request a small performance?"
She tried to make the girl feel better, she knew that after the meeting with her King she would not be her nervous, yet happy self. Perhaps meeting with her again directly afterward would help to boost her ego back up.
"Once you are finished with your tea, I'll lead you to our instructor, my King, Varestes. He will be the one taking you through the instruction on how to become a Jack...and the one giving you your quest."
Lysaras fiddled nervously with her teacup and tried t keep her face as pleasant and encouraging as possible, the girl was in for quite a night...

Lleurela took the opportunity to sip a little at the Villa tea. Ah! How it so reminded her of home. The tartness of the elderberries combined with a bit of sweetness. The taste floated over her tongue bringing back memories of her parent's house with it's warm comfort.
She pondered over the tea for a minute before hearing the compliment paid to her by both the Queen's. A steady rise is red began to creep up her cheeks. "Thank you. . so much."
Her left hand crept down her side to feel through her pouch to the new amazing whistle that the Queen had in essence given to her. She had never heard a sound like it before and would always cherish the instrument.
"It would be my h. .honour to play for you my Queen!" She smiled again and slowly drained the last of her tea, relishing every drop.
She set down her cup and smiled softly at Lysaras.
"I . .. believe I. . I'm ready." She waited for the Queen to lead the way.

Lysaras spent the next few minutes chatting amiably with the Chipmunk, she quite enjoyed the girl's company. She finished off her tea and watched as Lleurela drained the last of her cup as well. She gave a somewhat sad smile when the girl proclaimed herself ready, and stood motioning her toward the doorway. They moved slowly down the hall, toward a spiral staircase that led upward in a dark marble passage. "Not far from here," She said softly, her voice echoing...she knew he was listening. "He is a bit more rigid than I am on formality, however, I would recommend calling him 'your highness', even if he seems to insist otherwise." She glanced back over her shoulder and gave the girl a reassuring smile. "You'll do splendidly, I know you will, Lleurela, just keep a sharp eye out as he will sometimes try to trick you. It is simply his way. Be careful."They drew level with a thick spiral patterned oak door. It was barred with thin spirals of iron and looked foreboding. Lysaras placed her hand on the knob, turned it, and pushed inward. The room inside was lit from a glowing fire in the hearth. Two leather armchairs were placed in front of it. The walls weren't decorated. The door shut slowly behind them, revealing a tall, whippy man with long strawberry colored hair. In human form. "Welcome..." He purrred stepping closer to them. "My Queen, and you must be Lleurela... a pleasure to meet you I'm sure..." His eyes glowed dully, and his jewelry and mask made his realm apparent. The Hisstor Wastes. He smiled again, his eyes backing Lysaras out of the room. While his mouth grinned in warm delight, his eyes remained devoid of any joy. He nodded to the Queen, lips pulled back slightly to reveal pearly teeth. "Farewell, my Queen... I'll take good care of our soon to be little Jack..." Lysaras backed out of the door slowly, eyes on Lleurela. "Good luck, Lleurela..."The King turned his attention to the Chipmunk before him. "I guess it's just us then my dear... Allow me to introduce myself. I am Varestes, the King of Spades."
