She was a little offended that he had seen though her bad acting, even if she was willing to admit it was not all that good. She was going to have to work on that.
She gave a small grunt of protest when the bat picked her up and threw her over his shoulder. “Where are . . . you . . . taking me?” She asked between steps.
This had defiantly not been included in any of her plans. A spark of panic flared when it suddenly occurred to her that she had no clue who he was or where he was taking her. “I will Not go back!” she began to shout, her small hoofs smacking him on the back though it seemed that he was oblivious to the assault.
She would fight this man she did not have a name for hoof and teeth if she had to. She was on a quest and she was not going to be delayed from accomplishing it . . . unless it was food . . . and maybe a nice bed.

Rin winced as the filly started to struggle, little hooves flailing in protest. One glanced his kidney, and he almost dropped her, but resolved himself to continue to carry her. Having her thrashing around his wings, and the delicate membrane that made of the majority of the appendages, though, was disconcerting and he fought the instinctual impulse to drop her. He gave her a good shake, hoping it would convince her to stop her moaning.
"Stop that, or I'll drop you on your head." He continued walking, considering how best to reassure the child and not really knowing how to approach it, "He's not fond of me, but the constable should be able to help you get back home. You do have a home, don't you?"
If she didn't, it wasn't his problem. He as dumping her into the constables lap regardless; the chubby little man could deal with the problem. Rin wasn't capable of looking after the brat, nor did he have the inclination.

At his statement that he would drop her on her head, an action she did not question if he would actually do, she stopped her flailing. She had not given up the fight though, she was just waiting for the best opportunity.
“Of course I have a home. I am not some stray.” She retorted to his question, offended that he would think otherwise.
She could not let him take her to the constable though. Even if he could help her find her home, Mommy had always warned they were –never- to bring home anyone of the authorities on the pain of death.
“Are you sure that you have to bring me to the constable? What if I do not want to go see this ‘constable’? Can you not just buy me some food, instead? Food sounds more tempting you know.” She was not about to beg but she would try and word her way out of this.

((Ack. I totally forgot about this thread. >> ) He listened with half an ear to her cajoling as he continued to walk, though his strides shortened considerably as he considered her words. While seeming a fairly foolish child, she might have a very real reason to want to avoid undue attention from the law. And while he couldn't agree with a child her age out and about, wandering into parts of town that she had no right to tread--and with a complete lack of comprehension of what exactly she was tempting--he was beginning to doubt if maybe shoving her off on the soonest available bobby was a good idea. He needed time to think the situation through more carefully, and her plead for food actually gave him the perfect opportunity to do so. Rin gave a tiny grunt of exertion as he lowered to the ground, considerably more carefully than he'd been picking her up, "A quick bit might do us both a world of good. Come on, then."

((I see how it is, you don’t loves me anymore T _ T))
The small canine-equine was thrilled when the bat put her back down on her own four feet, especially since it was considerably gentler then when he had picked her up.
“Well it is about time you listened to me. Alright then, where is it that are we going to go to for food?” She was not quite sure what had changed the bat’s mind but she was not going to argue with him for seeing logic.
She stood there giving him a glare, that was not so much meant to be rebellious but in defiance of the way he had treated her. Uncle Ader was the only person she knew besides their Father, or Mommy as Ira both affectingly and irritatingly liked to call their Father, who had treated them in such a way. Mommy usually told them to go hang themselves and Mommy Minh was usually too busy with her lab to notice them.

((Nope. No love. X3))
Rin felt a small tick in his eye twitch into existence, vaguely irritated by the little filly's presumption that she'd won him over with her supposed, superior grasp of manipulation, and briefly toyed with the idea of leading her right to the station anyway. He could drop her off with the constable, and get back to his night of miserable brooding. Somehow, the option didn't sound entirely appealing.
With a put-upon sigh, he turned down a side street that would eventually deposit them at the front door of the nearest, and subsequently, the only open, diner in the area. The name glowed in neon lighting from three blocks away, garish against the dreary wall of the building: Wandering Duck Diner.
He pushed the protesting door open, ignoring the few occupants that glanced over at the small, welcoming ding to watch their progress.
Rin settled into a booth and signaled the tired looking waitress over for a kraft of coffee. He had a feeling he was going to need it.

A satisfied smile on her face she followed the bat as he lead the way. She was going to take his word that he was not taking her to the constable and if she found out otherwise she was prepared to fun.
When they turned down a side road and she saw the sign that pronounced their destination to be named the “Wandering Duck Diner” she felt some of the tense ease from her walk.
Entering the small diner she held her head up ignoring any of the whispers or looks that she received from any of the other patrons. You could almost swear that they had never seen a kid come in here before. Making herself at home in the booth she waited as the waitress made her way over to their table.
Food and something to drink was definitely on her list of things to order, though she was planning on not picking anything too expensive, after all she did not have any money.

Coffee on an empty stomach was never a wise course of action, especially if you were going to get into a position that required a steady hand, and after a moment of contemplation Rin ordered an omelet--cheese, mushrooms, and ham. When the waitress brought it out, the convoluted mass was more scrambled than anything. He didn't comment, picking morosely at the offering.
He didn't pay any attention to what the kid ordered, more focused on the main issue--how to get rid of her. He didn't know how to deal with children, not anymore--and maybe he never had the knack; it was all so long ago--and it wouldn't do to be wandering around the seedier parts of town with a child in tow for any length of time. Word was sure to get around, and neither of them would like the sort of attention it drew.

When the waitress had come by she ordered a plate of eggs, bacon, and hash browns along with a glass of orange juice. She knew it was close to the middle of the night but there was nothing to stop someone from having breakfast food, not at least if they were indeed serving it.
After the food had arrived she began to eat, not caring if it was polite or not to just start eating. Once she was about halfway through the meal, her stomach satisfied to have contents in it again, she started to slow on her intake.
“So, Mr . . . ?” If he had given his name should could not remember it, and if he had then it had probably been given with the wrong impression. Determined to start over she continued after he had given his response, “What exactly is it that you do?”
