She derived a pleasure when he reacted so subtly to her touch. She took her hand away, trying to tell herself it meant nothing. His fur was so thick and soft...
"A bit. We're going to take the path that leads in the direction of the Court of Clubs and detour from there. Plenty of bandits and all sorts of fun things that way. After the Bog, I would like to avoid Tulgey, considering neither of us are natives, so we'll come back on the same route back to here, then go on to the Court. If I like you by then, I'll keep you around," she smirked and nudged him.
They left the Capitol and were out of its borders by noon. Heilyn didn't much care for carriages, as they tended to say "HAY EVERYBODY LOOK, PEOPLE WITH MONEYS, YAY!" so they would take the journey by foot. It was quiet most of the way, Heilyn battling mentally with herself. She needed to talk. Dealing with such things silently...
"You've been well in this time?" she asked him. Guh, small talk.

Seth nodded to her, looking thoughtful as he considered the travels. "In other words, this is the leg of the journey that you need me for.[/b]" It would be tiring, that much was sure... But it would also be fun. He hadn't explored much beyond his home and the Capital, and this trip would give him an experience that most others would be unable to claim. He was going to the Raemblen Bog, to meet with one of its most respected diplomats. The realization came crashing down on him then, and he gave himself a mental high-five.
He was sleeping with the daughter of said diplomat. How much more awesome could he get?!
The path felt good under his feet. He had been in one place for far to long, and though they were traveling in silence Seth was unbothered. There were things to watch all around them, and that gave him the chance to stay mentally prepared for whatever came up. When the coyote spoke to him, he glanced up at her. "Yeah. Been busy getting ready, but there's always time to spend relaxing.[/b]" he laughed. It was also a lot of time to spend pining, but... He didn't need to tell her about that. "I think your replacement is gay, Lyn.[/b]"

Oh, how she'd missed that toothy grin of his. She felt a pulse in her chest. She missed him... seeing him now made her painfully aware of that.
"That's good. I'm glad to hear you taking this seriously," which up his chances of sticking around longer... GUH what is this?! This was all very uncalled or. But he was with her now. She didn't have to wake up in an empty bed anymore...
"HAHA! What gave you that idea?" she laughed, trying to distract her mind, "Everyone thinks that, but he loves women just as much as he loves wearing their clothes. He's a perfect match for her, really." she snickered. Ah, Mal. That shop was practically a wet dream come true for him. She smirked then gave a fake pout.
"Miss me?" she gently flicked his ear, half-hoping the answer was "yes"...

He nodded as they walked, shifting his bag slightly to a more comfortable position. As it was, he could feel the ridges of his weapons pressing into his side. It was... Uncomfortable, to say the very least. "I do have a pretty good work ethic, you know. When your job could put your own life into danger... Well.[/b]" he grinned widely at her, then laughed. "Keeps you on your toes. If you don't take things seriously, you're dead.[/b]"
He couldn't help but laugh at that. He could definitely imagine the man he'd seen and the parakeet gushing together about makeup and dresses, decorating themselves and commenting on which shades best accentuated their natural coat colors. The mental image was a delightful one. "If they're married by the time we get back, I'm going to... Well. I'm not really sure what I'll do.[/b]" probably die laughing, he mused.
The next question caught him completely off-guard, and he actually hesitated for a moment. Was this some kind of a trick question? Well. Honesty was the best policy, and Zuberi had said that he be honest with himself as well as Heilyn... "Yeah.[/b]" was his almost subdued reply.

Her pace faltered at his answer. She expected some smart-ass or perverted answer dripping with machismo and arrogance. A quiet semi-confession was NOT. Her eyes went a little and her mouth hung open. She was happy to hear that. The slight raise in her heart rate did not allow her to deny it. She was happy he missed her... She remembered to breathe and continued walking from the split second she stopped.
"Really now?" she tried to pull off some arrogance, but there was some weakness in her voice, "I honestly didn't expect that..." Gods, what have I gotten myself into?! she thought as a flood of "what ifs" and "maybes" crowded her head. Why, WHY, WHY?! She'd caught back up to him by then and subconsciously brushed her fingertips along the parts of him she could reach. His shoulders, his jaw, his ears...
She took her hand away as soon as she realized what she was doing.
"I honestly didn't..." she repeated in a soft voice.

Seth was already berating himself slightly over speaking out like that. A joking answer positively dripping with misogynism would have made his head hurt too, but only because he would almost certainly be punched for it. As it was, her bizzare reaction was tearing him apart, and he couldn't bring himself to say anything more. His ears flattened slightly, then perked as he felt her touch, slowing his walking until he was stopped. Slowly, he turned his head to look up at her.
He couldn't read her emotions even slightly, and that scared him. All he could think was to try and diffuse the situation, even if just a little.
He smiled at her, but it seemed almost weak. "Why not? Didn't you miss me, too?[/b]" the smile faded almost as soon as she took her hand away, and he moved forward ever so slightly, nosing at the appendage before letting her take it away fully. His thoughts were spinning, but this seemed to be a given in this point in their relationship. They really did need to figure whatever it was that was going on between them out, and they needed to do it quickly.

[OOC: My mistake, some timing's off. I kinda wanted it taht she got pregger the first time they screwed around... but even then, the timing's off. She would've noticed by then since that was a while back~ I fix <3 Sorry, hun, if you read the first version of the post]
Yes, my God, there wasn't a day that went by that I didn't think about you.
She shook herself as that thought sprang up in her head. She couldn't say out loud, considering she couldn't believe it. there were very few people she became a little obsessed with, but never for this long. She looked at him. That weakness in his smile, the way he touched his nose to her hand as she took it away.... something about it caused a twinge in her heart.
"What can I say? Absence makes the heart grow fonder, but familiarity breeds contempt," she nudged him, hoping that pretending to be chummy, she can break whatever chains were binding her, "Let's just see how we feel about each other after this little trip is over, eh? With any luck, we'll come out of this without tearing each other too much." In bed. She let out a weak laugh that died quickly.

That response was something that made Seth feel at least a little bit better. Emotions were something that he didn't quite know how to deal with, but he lived and breathed the kind of chumminess that was in her voice. As long as she was going to act like this, there wouldn't be any sort of problem, and he'd likely be able to continue sleeping with her! It was a win-win situation.
The nagging voice of a certain green squirrel played through his brain, however. He knew he needed to have an actual talk with her about this, but now just wasn't the time. He needed to spend more time with her before he made any sort of definitive move.
"Sounds like a plan to me,[/b]" the bat chuckled, shaking whatever "feelings" he had leftover. Swinging his wings around, he began to walk once more, wishing for the first time in his life that he had the magical ability of a club. It would make this trip much easier, that much was sure. "For now, though, I'll worry about getting you to your Bog alive.[/b]" he grinned cheerily at her.

She smiled at him. The mood lightened. This was a good thing.
"I did some research, and there's a nice sleazy inn outside the Capitol along this path that we should reach by this evening before it gets dark. Should be fun," she chuckled. She could just sit back and let someone else take care of her for once.... if she wasn't tempted to jump into the fight herself...
She watched the walk of the bat. That strange gait of walking on the wings. It looked rather uncomfortable. Her brow furrowed slightly. Though she expressed worry, it was a bit of a relief to finally be able to show some emotion again. A tight lipped, forced smile seemed to have been here expression nearly the entire time she spent at the court, save for around certain people. She would remember to bring him back something very special that he would enjoy.
"When we get out of the gauntlet of bandits that seem to reside outside the Capitol, we'll be getting a carriage. That should make travel quicker, as well." She disliked being enclosed spaces, but, damn if that didn't look uncomfortable. Bats were really made for flying.
