"Sleazy, eh?[/b]" Seth commented, looking at her with a raised eyebrow. He couldn't tell her, but sleazy sounded good to him. Sleazy things happened at sleazy inns, and Seth was particularly fond of most of those sleazy things. And bandits? That was always some kind of excitement, and if the night involved both a fight to protect/impress Heilyn and some victory sex... Well. The trip would be off to a good start! "Sleazy is good. Sleazy has promise for excitement.[/b]"
He looked up at her as they continued to walk, considering it. "A carriage, really? Riding in style... I have to say, I do like the thought.[/b]" Well, it would take an awful lot of strain off of his wings, which he was honestly looking forward to. He looked forward suddenly, eyes narrowing, oversized ears flicking forward.
"Wait, Lyn. Think I heard something.[/b]"

[Alright! time to NPC some baddies! XD]
Heilyn was amused at his interest in a sleazy inn. She wasn't sure if that was a good thing or a bad one.... but it simply amused her. Then she shrugged. Eh, carriages were alright, but she much preferred to walk. There was a less sleazy place a little further down the road where they would be hiring a carriage. It was like a midway rest stop kinda town halfway between the Court of Clubs and the Capitol that certainly existed, but wasn't officially on the map.
Her ear flicked as well. There were footsteps and loud talking heading in their direction, and not being particularly cautious about not being heard. Fortunately, there was little coverage for people to hide. A tree here, a bush here, but it was hilly. Three figures came over a small hill nearby to their front right. Two full Lowlanders, and one mix of Lowlander and Golfham, and not one of them above a 5. Toothy grins could be seen from their distance as they approached. They stayed out of the reach of a charge, but close enough for them to see each other's rank and suit. They grinned, as they set sight on the 10 and, especially, the female Jack of Hearts. The bipedal pulled a knife, the other two in animal form just got into a more aggressive stance. One of them was fairly put off by Heilyn, the other seemed to be more wary of Seth.
"I thin' ye know what we wan'. Jus' handit ovah nice an' easy, eh?" spoke up the bipedal. Heilyn yawned, ignored him, and made to keep walking which set off the bipedal. "BITCH!" he barked and charged her.

Seth was positively bristling as he saw the trio of uglies come into view, but he laughed all the same as they spoke, sidestepping so that his body was blocking Heilyn's. He gave a short and harsh laugh as the man spoke, dropping his bag to the ground and slipping one foot into it, feeling the cool metal against his skin. Yes, this was going to be fun, he could tell already. These morons looked to be the types to fight first, and take full notice of their targets later.
"Oh, I know I'm hot as hell, gentlemen,[/b]" Seth said, batting his eyelashes in an overly feminine imitation, jutting one hip out ever so slightly. "But even your obvious... Charms aren't quite enough for me.[/b]" his fake-pout began to change, into a full-on snarl. As far as he was concerned... They wouldn't lay a hand on Heilyn.
In a flash, the bat had leapt into the air, both daggers clutched tightly in his feet, diving towards the trio.
All of this emotional frustration made him feel like killing something.

Heilyn watched Seth as he leapt into the air, wings spread, weapons in his feet. How very handy, and fairly intimidating. The one who was wary of Seth at first hesitated and did not go for Heilyn. However, the one that was unsure of Heilyn at first, took this time to join their assumed leader, as she wasn't paying much attention to them. The bipedal's charge faltered at the sudden darkening of sky. Not being so bright, he looked down at the growing shadow before up at the thing casting it. The only thing he could do was put his arms up in front of his face to block. One dagger pierced his left forearm, the other his right deltoid. The Lowlander animal that followed closely dodged around the pair, still heading for Heilyn. She licked her teeth, but forced herself to stay still. If she weren't testing Seth, she would've joined in by now and would've had this man screaming on the ground by now. granted, she would not let herself be hurt or even touched, but it was all still a test.

Out of the corner of his eye, Seth saw the other man running past. He swore to himself, even as he felt the satisfying thud of his knives sinking deep into flesh, and immediately pushed himself back, tugging desperately at the blades to rip them free once more. The blade that was embedded in the man's forearm had wedged itself between the bones, and would not come out. He released it just in time for the other weapon to rip free, flipping in mid-air and giving a mighty flap of his wings.
That flap sent him bulleting through the air, and he collided rather violently into the man who was still in animal-form. With the kind of screech that only a bat could produce, he sank his teeth as deep as he could into the back of the man's neck, eagerly tearing at his back with claws and the knife that he still held.
This asshole would die for even moving towards Heilyn.

There was a look of horror on the face of the bipedal as he saw the knife was not coming out of his arm. The bat rushed off, but the bipedal man fell to his knees, feeling very sick. Every time he tried to move anything below the knife still stuck in his arm, the only response he got was a wave of pain that he could feel all the way in his toes. Rage filled his eyes as he glared at the bat. He let out a scream as he charge again, the pain in his arm and shoulder only egging him on.
Heilyn was rather impressed at Seth's speed and strength. She'd seen snippets of it, but a bar fight was not a fight for life. She shivered at the strange noise he made. She took a step forward to cover Seth's back from the man charging, especially since the third attacker decided to jump in again, catching up in stride with the bipedal, but she stopped herself, resorting only to calling out: "Behind you!"
She felt her chest tighten when the man lunged with his knife out at the back of Seth's head. The man in animal form close behind...
It was very quickly becoming unbearable to sit back and watch.

Seth very abruptly drove the knife into the first man's side, forcing his face into the ground with no small amount of violence and satisfaction. He knew from the noise that the man had made that he wouldn't be getting up anytime soon, and that left more than a small grin of satisfaction on his batty face.
At Heilyn's cry of warning, however, the bat's grin was quick to fade, and he whipped around just in time to see the blade of a knife, heading straight for his neck.
Oh, shit.
The bat dropped to his knees as quickly as gravity would allow, giving a garbled cry of pain and rage as the knife sliced into his cheek. Using his legs, he launched himself forward into his opponent's legs, forcing the biped to the ground once more, and hopefully into the attacker that was still wearing his biped form. "Mother-FUC---[/b]" his cry was cut short with the force of the impact

Though they weren't well trained, they were brutal and had experience. Through the exchange, Heilyn shifted into her animal form, the form she knew best how to fight in. She had to step in. For all those ridiculous adventure fiction novels of some warrior Fighting a battle five-to-one and coming out without a scratch?
Yeah, bullshit.
Even some of the best fighters didn't come out of a one-on-one bout without at least a scratch. Three opponents... now two, as the one Seth disabled was hobbling out of the fight, bandits had no honor to fight to the death for... would divide his attention. As strong as he was, it would take him a second or two for them to recover from that impact.
In a fight, a split second of hesitation or advantage could mean the difference between win or lose. Life or death. The third, deeming Heilyn not to be a threat, went for Seth. Heilyn sprinted towards the man, catching him in mid-pounce, letting out a distinctly canine noise as she did so, and knocked him back, wrestling him into the ground, buying Seth some time. She'd missed his throat, as was the target, but the shoulder near the jugular was good enough until she could repositioned her bite. This proved to be harder than expected, as her miss allowed him to be able to bite her on the shoulder as well. They wrestled in a tangle of growls and snarls until Heilyn was able to shift her position to his throat. She held her advantage as being the one not with her back on the ground, but that didn't stop him from kicking her gut as she cut off his air supply.
The bipedal recovered from the impact, attempting to get back onto his feet. However, he was a little dazed, as he had hit his head on the way down.

Seth was in a blind rage, his world narrowed down to the biped with the knife. The asshole that had cut him. The stinky son of a bitch. He would die, the bat decided. The others would live with pain, but this one... He would die.
The bat ignored the man's flailing at him, using clawed thumbs to pull himself up, lips pulled back fully to reveal his rows of shining fangs. The man was punching at him as best he could, and Seth sunk his teeth DEEP into his wrist as soon as the wrist came close, forcing the man to drop the knife with a wild scream. In a flash, the bat had released the wrist, diving for the knife and grasping it in his teeth. His eyes wide with anger and pain, blood dripping from his cheek, he lunged forward, using one wing to force the man's head back.
He dove forward, driving the blade as deep into the man's neck as he could.
