Rosemary sighed. She'd skipped out of her Aunt's place before she had a chance to yell. Even though Rosemary was an adult, she still managed to do childish things. Like destroying her Aunt's second favorite vase. Of course that set the old bag off just like everything else. She was surprised the old woman wasn't dead from popping a blood vessel in her throat. But that wasn't the point. Rosemary needed to spend the night at an inn. Of course that meant she had to deal with some snooty Highlanders first. She rolled her eyes. Sometimes coming to this place was worse than dealing with all the horrible creatures that lived deep in Tulgey. She looked down the street. To her great surprise there was someone who wasn't white with gold swirls and random bits of red. It was brown, yellow and very purple. Well there weren't that many bog dwellers out there. Running at full tilt Rosemary stopped short of tackling the other figured. "I haven't seen you since I got plastered at your dad's apartment!"It was a perfectly acceptable greeting in Rosemary's head.

It had been a very long day, and Rhiannon was simply happy for the peace that she had finally found away from the court, her family - everyone. It had been about two months since she had returned from her visit to the Capital, and a week since she had woken up one morning to find the bright red ten on her chest replaced with a simple "J". That would have been an extremely happy event, if not for what had almost immediately followed it - a wave of sickness followed by a quick dash to her bathroom. At first, she'd assumed simply that she'd had to much to drink the night before, shrugging it off as a one-time sort of occurance. Every morning following it was the same. Earlier that very day, she had met with the court doctor Temmin, speaking to him in quiet and concerned tones, and come away with a single piece of very troubling information: She was pregnant. She had bolted from the Court and begun to just run as fast as she could, needing a quiet place to think and decide what she would do. After all, there was only one possibility for a pregnancy this far along... She paused for a minute, but that minute was more than long enough for her to be tackled by an old friend. Rhiannon let out a startled yelp, tumbling to the ground with Rosemary in a tangle of brown-and-white limbs. As soon as she realized who it was, she started to laugh, forgetting - for the moment, at least - her troubles. " Rose! What are you doing here?![/b]"

"Believe it or not, I have a Highlander in the family. Josephine e'Devya. If you've ever heard of that part of the family, I am painfully sorry." She rolled her eyes as she hopped off of the Bogdweller. Smothering her to death was a bad idea, and the smell of roses could always do that.
Finally Rosemary looked her friend over once or twice. She was different. For one there was a piece missing of her, and for two she was a Jack now. That was one heck of a jump!
"You've changed quite a bit! Shiny new rank and missing bits. Wish I could say I've changed that much." She grinned. Rosemary only really had a tattoo, it was nothing in comparison to those two bits of info. "And what are you doing with yourself in a place like this? I knew you had family and friends in courts but... this is a ways away."

Rhiannon was quick to roll to her feet once Rosemary had leapt off, her leafy snout twitching. Why on earth did she smell roses, of all the things? Her eyes were drawn to the girl's new winding tattoo, and she grinned appreciatively. A scented tattoo? That was new and strange. "Can't say I ever have, so you don't need to apologize.[/b]" the woman grinned, her day much improved by this random encounter.
At the mention of missing bits, the hybrid pulled her wings in close to her sides. It was a bit of a sore subject for her, and brought back the dim memory of what had sent her bolting out here to begin with. She shook herself, grinning at Rosemary rather than indulging in feeling sorry for herself. "You've changed, too, you know.[/b]" she chuckled, tail wagging slightly. "Nice tattoos, and some very nice piercings, if I do say so myself.[/b]"
The woman went quiet before she answered the last question, her ears flicking back slightly. "Sometimes you just need to get away from it all, you know?[/b]" she answered simply. Perhaps they could talk about it later, but she didn't want to just yet.

She hit the sore nail on the head didn't she? Oh wow, talk about having a talent for making people painful uncomfortable. Nice. "Okay. Time to change the subject!" Rosemary said with a wave of her front paws.
"If you want to get away from it all, how about we get away from it all together? There's got to be a place in the Highlands that isn't filled with snotty Highlander pricks right?" Rosemary had yet to find that place. It didn't help that she was a Tulgey and most people stared at her like she had three heads.
Somehow dropping in on her Aunt and sister again seemed like the wrong idea even if that had been the purpose of her trip to the Highlands. So she just had to figure out another place to go. She wasn't actually in the mood to get plastered... that and she didn't like any of the bars in area.
"Do you know the area around here? I... don't tend to hang out in the Highlands very long when I visit Thyme. I told you about her... and the only places she recommended are kind of... prissy. Though I'm sure that's my Aunt's fault." She snorted.

Rhiannon's expression brightened noticably, ears perking slightly at the thought. "I would very much enjoy that.[/b]" she said, grinning once again. Perfect. She just needed something to take her mind off of the last few hours. From what she remembered, spending time with Rosemary would be the perfect thing for it. Perhaps they could tip over a liquor store or terrorize the elderly. Both would provide her with something fun to take her mind off of life, and something in the back of her mind nagged that she really shouldn't be drinking anything... She didn't know if she wanted these children, but she did want to work to keep them healthy in case she did want them.
"Honestly?[/b]" she laughed, grinning crookedly as she rose onto all fours again, tail held high. "I'm pretty sure everywhere around here is filled with snotty Highland pricks, or at least people with a bit too much Heart pride for their own good.[/b]" not to say that Rhiannon didn't have a healthy dose of the later, but... It was like the time she spent with her brother.
"We could always go camping,[/b]" she suggested, letting out a short and laugh-like bark.

Oh yes. Heart pride. She had a lot of that to deal with. Rosemary, without so much of a word flopped on her back to look at Rhi upside down. She smelled different--well beyond the whole not smelling like she was from the bog. Whatever. Rosemary stayed flopped on her back for a few moments while thinking.
Camping. Yeah right. This place wasn't as fun as the wood. It's not like they were going to find legendary creatures walking around or anything. Buggers. She really didn't like the Highlands.
"Actually there's a really shadey place my Aunt told me about once." Well. Joe didn't actually tell her out right, she had to bribe it out of the woman for the sake of getting anywhere. "It's a place where mages hang out. There's bound to be some crazy junk there we could at least take a look at, if not take advantage of."
She rolled back onto her fours and shook out the dirt. "Interested in some crazies?"

A shady place. Even better. It was like a rerun of their past, except they were both older and most likely would be far more effective in case a fight begun. Not that they had done badly before - but Rhiannon was excited to put some of her new abilities to use. She really wanted to hurt someone. It would do her a lot of good to get some of her tension out, and who was better to inflict senseless violent on than some crazies?
"When am I not up for some crazies?[/b]" the hybrid woman said, grinning a toothy grin at the other canine. She glanced around quickly, a quick check to make sure that no one she knew was anywhere nearby. She just didn't want news of her adventures to reach the palace and her mother. That just... would ruin everything. "Lead the way![/b]"

"Wicked!" Rosemary said with a half chirp as she jumped into action. Well, she trotted. If they ran to the place they were tire out before they had the chance to do anything fun.
It was a twenty minute walk. Rosemary gave a happy sigh when they finally made it. The place looked like any run down bar on the outside. She raised an eyebrow. Wasn't this the place where Joe found that creepy guy who sold her that Yarrow Ace she paid an arm and a leg for?
She opened the door, moving to the side to allow Rhi through before her. The inside of the bar was just as plan as the outside. It was run down for being in the Highlands. Several people were sitting and nursing beers. Obviously the party was somewhere else.
What did Aunt Joe say she needed to do again?
Rosemary went up to the bartender with a grin. "My old lady, Josephine sent me. You wouldn't happen to know where the party's at?"
The man behind the counter, another canine, raised an eyebrow. "Downstairs, take the door to the right over there."
She grinned. "Thank you sir!"

Normally, a walk of that distance would have been extremely easy for the fit young coyote, but when they finally reached their destination Rhiannon felt winded and tired. Damnit, this couldn't be happening! There had to be some other explanation for her being so exhausted - she hadn't really eaten much that day, so her blood sugar was probably low, and she hadn't slept well the night before. It had to be anything but what was really going on!
Denyal was an easy path for Rhiannon to take, but sooner or later the truth was going to set in, and she would have to deal with it. Just not right now. Right now, she was going to enjoy the company of her friend and fuck some shit up.
She stood silently beside Rosemary, feeling extremely confident that the wolf would have no trouble whatsoever finding them trouble to get into. The woman seemed to have a nose for it. When they set off towards the door Rhiannon glanced at her companion, grinning slightly. "So, exactly what are you getting us into tonight?[/b]"
