A loud peal of shrieks and yowls could be heard coming from the disreputable pie shop as a pale figure dashed out the doorway, nearly slamming into someone on the sidewalk outside as he weaved through the foot traffic. Behind him, a mussed feline came out waving a rolling pin and shouting. "Get back 'ere, you 'orrible little freak o' nature! Gimme that back!"In the running creature's mouth was a limp, skinned pair of carcasses that looked like rats or some other sort of large vermin. He had them both by the head and was kicking up dust as fast as his legs would carry him, leaving the irate shopkeep far behind. People jumped out of his way and squawked indignantly, some of them seeing the flash of rank on his chest but most of them missing it in the general chaos of the moment. He threw himself into an alleyway, panting and wide-eyed, then skittered up and over a broken wall that had once belonged to another building and slid down into an alcove filled with scraps of cloth and the bones of small creatures along with a few other scraps of garbage. He spat the creatures out and stared down at them, then wasted no time in devouring them. This was only a temporary spot for him, somewhere people might have seen him run into but wouldn't be able to access quickly enough to get to him before he left for safer territory. In the middle of the outer bazaar shops wasn't nearly as safe a place to bunk down as in some of the shanty towns on the very edge where he could claim an abandoned shack for the night and no one would contest it. Probably. Finishing his meal as quickly as he could, he threw some of the remnants over the edge and onto the floor of the original building below. He had to eat and move quickly so that they couldn't get him, they being anyone. Taking a few quick breaths and glancing around for a few seconds, he slowly slipped out of the ruined building via one of its other exit and slunk along one of the alleys. He might have to lay low if the foot traffic was too heavy on the streets for him to dart across.

Honker wasn't particularly fond of this place. It was run down, dirty, and not a single person was nice. Thankfully he was cute enough to beg for food, of course that didn't mean he had a nice place to sleep. He whimpered as looked around one of the abandoned buildings. Home. He should just suck it up and go home. Of course the problem was Lythero. It's not like he could go away. Even if Honker wanted him gone--and the wolf wanted to be gone--they couldn't separate. And worst yet, his family wouldn't have recognized him. He had very much changed into a Tulgey to match his terrifying parasitic "friend." Life sucked. The swan dog's head snapped around eyes wide. He heard someone coming.... wait. Why was someone back here? People normally didn't come back here? Choking back another worried sound her hurried over to the nearest hiding spot. (( OOC: >_> I feel like scarring the boy for life. ))

Making his way into and through the alley, he suddenly stopped and stiffened as he heard a noise ahead of him. Was foot traffic really that bad? Was someone coming? His eyes widened and twitched backward and forward for a moment in spastic little movements before he ran forward and dove into the nearest hiding spot.
Unfortunately, that had been the nearest hiding spot for both of them. As soon as he slammed into a warm body, he let out a high-pitched scream and threw himself back, rolling and landing on all fours several feet away as his fur all bristled and his Selkie fluff was hastily thrown back. He began to back away, slowly, staring with unbelievably wide eyes at the hole in the wall he'd just jumped away from. Then he bared his teeth and made a decidedly unfriendly hissing noise, mouth wide open to show all the little needle teeth he could.

Honker yelped when he suddenly found himself face first in the rubble. He hadn't expected someone to find the same hiding spot as him.... and they were probably hiding from each other. That really hurt too!
It took a little while for the swan dog to recover. He heard the hiss though, and was terribly alarmed. Shaking almost as bad as a leaf the little Ace peered out of the hiding spot to see something very much from the Lakes hissing at him.
His ears drooped and his eyes widened. "Please don't eat me." He whimpered.
Lythero decided to remain silent. If he was lucky the damn boy would be eaten or something far worse--he would grow a pair of balls. Damnit. Why the hell had it been an Ace of all things? He honestly didn't need to deal with this when he had a very clear mission.

The white thing's posture was submissive and its expression terrified, but that was just as threatening to Ace's mind than someone charging him head on. It was looking at him! Straight at him! He hissed again and took another step back, fur bristling. The way his eyes bugged really was bizarre.
And then it talked! It addressed him! With a gutteral noise, he lunged forward and tried to bite whatever part of it he could reach, then turned and ran back the way he'd come. It was a trap! The thing was after him. What if there were others?! He stopped still and crouched, almost flat to the ground, ears back but slowly raising to catch any hint of a sound in the alleyway. His only ways out were over the wall he'd come from and back the way the white thing was, and that would lead out to the road with foot traffic and carriages and even more people to threaten him.

Honker was terrified as he watched the other Ace's eyes bug out. He had never seen anything like it, and it was frightening.
Worse yet the Lakeland creature lunged forward and tried to bite him. The little Ace fell backwards and the teeth made contact with his front paw. He yelped, tears flowing when he hit the ground on his back. The swan dog craned his neck to see the damage that had been done. Now he understood why people cursed because this hurt.
What if that thing had some sort of disease? What if his wound got infected? What if....
Lythero growled. "Get up you moron! That thing is obviously more frightened of you than you are of it!"
"I beg to differ," Honker whimpered as he stared at his bleeding paw. That thing had teeth, was bigger than him, and obviously twitchy. What could naturally do that with it's eyes? He shuddered. He couldn't just lay here though... what if it came back?
He rolled over to the standing position, wincing at the pain his paw was causing him, and peered out of his hiding place. Maybe he would let Lythero bite the creepy weasel thing if it came here him again. The swan dog took a few steps forward out of the hiding place and sat in front of the hole. There was no one in plain sight....maybe it was gone?
He carefully moved forward, he really hoped it had gone back the way it came.

The taste of blood in his mouth was satisfying - he'd gotten in a hit, but that may have just further enraged it. Gah, complications! He didn't want to jeopardize that temporary eating spot by drawing his pursuers towards it, since then they might wall it off or set a worse trap or something else horrible until they captured and killed him.
He stayed low to the ground, back to the wall and eyes twitching to one side and the other, waiting. Eventually he saw movement from the area he'd just vacated and hunched his back, shoulders tensing and legs twitching. What was it doing? It was emerging... was it going for assistance? Was it going to call more people to it? "Help, help, Ace! Hunt, kill, bad!" He could hear it in his mind and it made every hair on his body stand on end. With a raspy growl, he wriggled and then sprung forward, lunging for the white creature in an effort to bite, claw, scratch, attack!

Honker was in no way prepared to be attacked again. In surprise he reared up, but thankfully Lythero was in his midsection snapping with his massive horrifying teeth fulled mouth. The swan dog had never been more thankful for the stupid jerk that was parasitically attached to his body.
Lythero wasn't about to stop trying to bite the other Ace. If he couldn't take out his anger on the swan dog, he would take it out on the next closest living thing. It didn't matter if they were innocent, scared, crazed or just there. It needed to die or get out of his way.
The Ace's teeth did make contact when Honker had reared up. The swan dog yelped at the stinging pain he felt running down his chest. Apparently the Ace didn't have a chance to latch on but... it still hurt! In retaliation Honker snapped his beak at the weasel, trying to make contact in some way shape or form. He wasn't built for fighting! This was just bad! He had to get out of here!

Only as his course led him inexorably towards the pale Card did Ace realized that he'd made a mistake. There were teeth sprouting out of its gut and a huge, gaping maw lunged for him! Even as his teeth made contact with the creature's chest, the mouth protruding from its stomach, got a hold on one of his legs and he screamed, the sound piercing.
With his head thrown back as he writhed and kicked and tried to free his leg, Honker's beak snapped at a spot on his throat and he started to thrash. Fight or flight, and now this would have to be both! He needed to get free or this thing would kill him, he had absolutely zero doubts. He continued to scream and hiss, throwing his whole body into the violent flailing, claws attempting to cause the creature pain and mouth joining the fray as he tried to bite down on Honker's long neck and tear at something..

Lythero's grip grew tighter on the struggling Ace. Blood was such a beautiful thing, not to mention struggling the way the creature did. Something akin to a chuckle escaped the wolf's maw. Oh yes, this was a lovely day after all.
Honker yelped when he felt claws brush against the base of his neck. He knew they had drawn blood, he could feel it seeping out with the stinging pain. He tried to pull back by Lythero was content on gnawing the other Ace's leg. The swan dog knew he had to keep his neck safe, but it was really difficult trying to stay away from the flailing weasel. "Lythero! Let go!" Honker yelled as he failed his paws at the weasel's teeth and claws. Both of which made contact with the paw that had already been bitten.
After another satisfied chomp Lythero let the Lakelander go. Honker immediately fell backwards. His head hitting the ground shortly after his back. He gave a whine at the amount of blood on him. He needed to get them cleaned.... he wanted his Mommy and Daddy.
"Well, that was fun," Lythero said with a satisfied chuckle. Still ready to attack the Ace if it tried anything else.
Honker growled for the first time in his life. Hopefully the Ace would run away and not attack him anymore.
