As soon as she seemed to be finished looking at it, Se swiftly stuffed it back into his pouch, relief nearly overwhelming him to have it so fully back in his possession and hidden from view. It was -his- stone, he wouldn't share; couldn't share it! Still, Xylia seemed appeased, which was the other thing he wished to accomplish, so he resettled his wings as he began to relax again. Things were going to be okay.
Se's pupilless eyes flicked back up to the girl and yellow ears flicked backwards to flatten against his head in shock. His nostrils flared and his eyes widened as he stared hard at her.
"Wot.... wot are you doing?" he asked in surprise. "You're... starting to disappear." He hoped she was okay because he had no idea how to help keep her from vanishing. It was also creepy to only sortof see Xylia standing there.

Xylia was very glad that Se had decided to show her the stone and her expression showed it clearly. Her ears were perked forward still and her cheerfully wide smile was full of satisfied curiousity. With her little tail wagging happily the doe was about to press another question to Se when the younger male's sudden surprise caught her off guard. Her body tensed suddenly and she drew up short, withdrawing a little.
"I'm... what!?!" Xylia yelped in surprise, leaping up to her hooves and looking down at herself. She seemed to be just fine to her own eyes but she didn't doubt Se's statement. "I...!" What should she do? Should she go? Her eyes bristled with tears and she shivered a little, the shock of her change swallowing her as fully as the shadows did. "Do...you...have somewhere we c-can go? I should be fine inside."
Xylia felt so betrayed by her body! Her dark coat melted near to flawlessly with the night, a near perfect camouflage.

The level of the girl's shock and distinct displeasure surprised the boy since he hadn't thought that she'd be unaware of this change. He thought for a minute before nodding. "My dad has a place not too far from here," he admitted a bit uneasily, though it was unlikely she would notice with how upset she was just then. He wasn't entirely certain that Rai wouldn't be home and he certainly didn't want to put up with any fatherly interference about Xylia. The stupid $#*@#(%.
He quickly turned and caught his bearings, then tilted his head for the girl to follow him. Yellow ears remained cocked towards her as the darkness settled and he slowly wasn't able to see her at all. There was the faint tap of cloven hooves beside him, but, even then, his own hind hooves tried to mask the sound. He just couldn't walk that lightly.
In good time, though it was definitely dark when they arrived, they came to a nice set of suites. Se quickly unlocked and pushed open the door so the doe could precede him into the apartment.

Xylia let out a low whine but nodded gently. "Thanks, Se. Really." A heavy sigh escaped her, but she silenced it quickly and moved to follow Se. There was no use in crying and falling apart anymore, but she was still utterly distraught. It would take far more than realizing she was being silly to make that go away.
So much had changed... She wasn't even herself anymore!
What Xylia didn't know, however, was just how much worse things would have been if she'd actually been wearing her bracers when she'd been kicked out. Luckily, what she didn't know wouldn't hurt her and she had managed to regain a little bit of cheer upon reaching the suite. When the door was pushed open, Xylia sighed with relief and hurried inside where the light bathed over her.
Much better, oh so much better.
She could see herself again, which meant Se could see her. Once he'd stepped inside, Xylia turned and smiled to him. "I... I'm so sorry about that, I don't really know all the effects of my experiment yet."

It was definitely a relief to no longer have a 'ghostly' companion; the little doe was still very cute. Going invisible hadn't changed that at all. "Don't worry about it," the boy answered a bit gruffly, embarrassed by her thanks. The only one who ever thanked him for anything was Helena and goodness knew you didn't actually want that. She'd smother you on accident and then wear your corpse like a tiara. She was a little bit mental.
And you aren't...? He shoved that thought swiftly away, unwilling to think too hard about his obsession with his stone.
"Would you like something to eat or drink?" he asked suddenly, remembering that's wot one usually did when you had guests over. Not that -he- ever had guests before, but he'd been forced to remain when his father had on occasion.
He trotted off to the kitchen, leaving her to make herself at home in the still rather sparsely decorated living room. The decor here was distinctly masculine, despite the limited number of pieces.

Xylia still wore her soft and thankful expression, glad to have found Se. He was so nice and kind, or at least so very accepting and Xylia hadn't gotten much of that in the short time since her change.
"A drink would be nice, thank you...uh, again." The doe smiled and blushed, feeling awkward for saying sorry so much. She couldn't really help it, though, not when he'd helped so much.
Once he trotted away into the kitchen, Xylia absently drifted about and took in the small sitting room. It was comfortable and a bit messy, but also lacking in substance. Hmm... A definite "man's" house. When Se returned, Xylia tilted her gaze back on to the male. "You mentioned this was your dad's house... Is he out?"
It was late enough, if he wasn't home now than he'd be present. Drat. She didn't really feel like explaining this to anyone else at the moment... Oh well.

In the kitchen, Se moved about carefully to prepare the drinks. Fortunately, Rai had kept the style suited for hooved animals so Se didn't have a great deal of trouble getting things ready alone. It was probably the only intelligent thing Rai had ever done. Then again, perhaps Ira had talked the stallion into keeping it. Wotever.
At Xylia's question, yellow ears flattened again and the boy was glad she was in a different room so he wouldn't have to explain the reaction. He hated that man.
Unfortunately for the black doe's assumptions, there really was no telling if or when Rai would show up. Ira could probably have told them Rai's schedule-- it was uncanny the colt's ability to do that-- but the other horse was also not around just then and Se wasn't going to seek him out. It was also unlikely Ira would look here for Se; the hybrid never came here willingly. He hated all reminders of his father.
"If he were home now he would have come out," Se called back, then grabbed the tray handle in his mouth and walked stiffly out into the living room so he could slide it up on the coffee table. He worked his mouth just a bit before finishing the thought. "I don't know his schedule, so I'm not sure if he's coming back tonight." He might have sounded apologetic if he hadn't sounds so annoyed.

When Se returned, Xylia's little tail wagged gently and she beamed at the younger male. She smiled weakly and eyed the drinks, everything was made for hooved animals and was easy enough for both of them to manage. The doe bobbed her head cheerfully as she spoke, "Thank you for the drinks, Se."
Pulling one aside for herself, Xylia took a few small sips before lifting her attention once more. Something in his town was a little...bitter? Or, perhaps just annoyed.
"He won't mind that I'm here if he comes home, will he?" The shadowed fem tilted her head slightly, a concerned look crossing her features. If he seemed so annoyed by his father then she would probably do best not to get on the man's bad side, he didn't seem entirely pleasant. "I don't want to get you in trouble or anything, Se."

"You're welcome," he muttered under his breath before turning away so she couldn't see if he happened to colour slightly. That would just be embarrassing.
He cleared his throat before turning back towards the doe. She seemed to enjoy the fruity tea and he pleased about that, even though he wouldn't admit it to himself. Or her. Or anyone.
"I wouldn't get in trouble for you being here," the hybrid retorted abruptly. And it was true, because it wasn't her presence that would be bad, it was the fact that she was hanging out with him that was. The line was so fine between the two, he didn't know how to explain it. She seemed so genuinely concerned that for a moment he was confused again.
How could she, still a near stranger, care about whether or not he got into trouble? They barely knew each other. He didn't want her to ever leave, though. It was hard to even think about it.
"My father. . . has issues." He wasn't certain how to explain, so he left it at that.
