The canine's head fell to the side a little, head cocked in absolute confusion as he attempted to cope with the situation at hand.
...Ira...had just assaulted him? And, apparently, had been sent by Rai himself? That...seemed awfully unprofessional of him, though he couldn't really assume that Rai had been aware of what Ira would do either. Slowly he shook his head, casting off the confusion before focusing his attention onto Ira once again. This boy never failed to be baffling, even after his impressive step into maturity.
"Err, sorry about your tongue... You startled me, and...well, you shouldn't have bit something on fire, you end up getting burnt." He chuckled a little, tossing off the mishap easily as Ira began to walk. After all, he couldn't go sulking about when he was in need of things. "I do. Thank you for showing up in his stead then." He paused eyeing Ira briefly. "You are standing in for your mum, right?"
There was absolutely no good in further misunderstandings, after all.

"Don't have any other reason to be here!" the stallion sang out, doing a quick little crow-hop skip before falling back into his easy-going stride. The young stallion did not answer about biting into flaming things; there was a chance that part of the admonition just didn't sink in. Or he was just ignoring it.
The young stallion was moving at a pretty good clip so far, especially in regards to the fact that he had a companion at his side. At least Antolius was fairly easy-going himself; otherwise there might have been an inter-Suit inciden. Most people, however, seemed to realize that Ira wasn't necessarily "all up there" and tended to forgive his strangeness because of it.
"Why are you roaming the streets rather than doing real work?" the young man asked suddenly and innocently, as though they weren't on an under-the-table-Court-sanctioned meeting. Perhaps he thought someone was following them.

Anatolius made a genuinely baffled noise at Ira's absently distracted nature, knowing full well what a strange boy he was and finding absolutely no comfort in it. By all means, he hoped this would do him some good in the end. A wild goose chase with an out of his rocker equine didn't strike the canine's fancy as a productive afternoon.
He was quiet for a brief moment, simply following after Ira's brisk steps with his own long strides and silently pondering how exactly to bring up what he needed in a way that would get the desired answers out of the confusing boy.
Luckily, however, Anatolius didn't have to search long before an answer jumped straight from Ira's lips. Perfect. "I'm actually looking for someone... A King of Clubs, to be precise: Ignatius. You wouldn't happen to have seen him around lately, would you?" Anatolius had absolutely no clue why they were discussing this as if it were not the intention of their little 'get-together' but he wasn't about to question. It was easier to play along in situations like these.

"Of course I've seen him around," Ira replied gently. "He's practically family. He's the one keeping Se just this side of insanity." Though perhaps that wasn't the best wording for that, implying that Se was utterly mad rather than just barely sane, as he assuredly must have been. . . .Right?
Ira stopped suddenly at a bistro and smiled gently at the waitress. "I need an order to go. Two pickled rye sandwiches with cheese, lettuce, cucumbers, and a hint of pepper. I'll also take a ham and turkey sandwich with mayonnaise and two types of cheese, I don't care which. We also need three bags of chips. Antolius," Ira turned to face the man with the same calm expression. "How much money do you have on you?"
The young stallion had enough money on him to purchase this order, but unfortunately for Tolius there wasn't necessarily a way to tell this.

Anatolius wasn't entirely sure which side of sanity, or insanity, that Ira and his family dwelled on and, in all honesty, he truly didn't want to find out. They were a quirky lot, there was no denying that.
"Wonderful! So --"
They arrived at the bistro before the canine could press any further questions to the equine before him and this left him considerably baffled throughout the length order. Had this been a plan for lunch as well? Anatolius wasn't sure if he'd been informed of this...but he was more than willing to improvise, he supposed.
"Money? ...Not much, honestly." The canine rolled his shoulders, mentally counting through how much he had on him. "Enough to cover a small lunch for myself, but probably not enough to cover yours as well..."
That is, if that was what Ira was doing at all. It'd be Anatolius's luck that Ira was actually buying this as some sort of strange bait to lure Ignatius out to them. Highly strange, yes, but not strange enough to put beyond Ira.

"Divvy in if you're planning on eating," Ira informed the man cheerily. He was quick to pay for the meal-- with or without Tolius' input-- and waited silently for the food to come back. His tail lashed from one side to the next and any questions or statements put to him would be completely and utterly ignored.
For how friendly he'd been at first to the waitress, now he was a picture of impatience nearly thrumming with tension. As soon as the order was done, the stallion snatched it from her hand, muttering around the bag, "Thank you, lovely!"
With that, the horse cantered quickly off, to the right. The pace wasn't so fast that Tolius couldn't keep up, but the poor canine would certainly have to pick up his feet to be certain he wouldn't lose the King. They were taking a different route through the city, twisting and turning and if Tolius didn't have a very good sense of direction he really wouldn't have any clue where they would be or where they were heading.

Anatolius blinked slightly and then nodded casually. Whatever, if they were having a lunch break then he wasn't going to complain. He ordered quickly, claiming a simple sandwich that wouldn't be too hard on the staff or his wallet, and quickly paid the waitress.
Not that there appeared to be any need for hurry, since Ira was as unresponsive as a rock until his food arrived.
The boy just got odder and odder.
Anatolius shook his head, thanking the waitress when she returned with his food, and then took off after Ira in a quick trot. Their pace didn't really give him speaking room, but the canine was able to keep up without growing too short of breath. Thank the suits, Toli was beyond happy he was in shape!
As they ducked into the alleys and began to wind through the back streets and less traveled places, Anatolius became more wary of their destination. More than once before he'd been in places like these, but never for good reasons. Oi!
"Would it be worthwhile for me to ask where we were going?"

In answer, Ira took a sudden side turn that brought them around again to the nicer side of town and, just as suddenly, they ran through the Bazaar and ended up right back at the jewelry shoppe. Without a word, he trotted inside and up the stairs. Just as he'd known before they left, a certain bull-mouse hybrid sat upstairs working on some pieces for his birth father's shoppe.
The teal King trotted up to drop the bag of food on the desk beside the teenager. "Hiya, Iggy. How's it going? Those are really pretty." He pointed at them with his nose. "You'll get a large commission for them. Tolius is here to kidnap you from the Court of Hearts, though I don't think he'll try turning you into an umbrella this time."
With this sage wisdom dutifully imparted upon the teenager, the stallion turned around and trotted right back out of the room on silent hooves.

He was starring intently at the diamond he held on his paw and only noticed that his brother had entered the room as the bag was dropped down next to him. Glancing up he did not really fash himself over the equine's parting words of wisdom. Most of it he understood and the rest him simply ignored. Years of being around the other male had gotten him used to it. He spared a look toward the Morganberry who his brother had referred to as Tolius. Stealing him away from the Heart Court? Like that was believable. The male was probably someone that his brother had just picked up to serve as some sort of amusement to himself. "I am almost done with this one, then I just have to do the other one for today." He motioned over toward the raw diamond that lay near him with his tail. "What did you bring?" He asked, willing to be distracted by the idea of food, his hunger previously having been ignored in his concentration.
