Josephine was looking forward to her stay here. It certainly was going to be interesting.
Kazifel was thankful to leave. Honestly if he had spent any longer in the house he probably would have broken down and cried later on that night when he couldn't sleep. He most certianly couldn't, that was for sure. Why was he so nervous about the wedding? It wasn't as if they weren't already together forever. He had promised her, and she had no intention of leaving. For some reason, though, he was still afraid.
He was afraid of losing Femi wasn't he? It was such a silly fear but he couldn't help himself. He got up once or twice when Rosemary decided to cry, or Alphonse wiggled about in his cradle. Morning wasn't very welcome, or the morning after that one. They were just getting closer to the main event. He could only wonder what Josephine was doing.

On nights where she was awake enough to feel her love crying into her fur, Femi usually hugged him close, wrapped her tail around him, and nosed behind his ear until he calmed down again. She didn't quite know why he got so upset sometimes, and certainly didn't understand his fear with regards to the wedding - she was terribly excited and just couldn't wait to say that he was both her King and her husband. It would be such a wonderful thing.
At least his Club's ability meant that he could handle the children most nights and let her get enough sleep to keep them more occupied during the day. That was a blessing if ever she'd seen one. Otherwise they would both be so dead that they wouldn't even be able to enjoy the fun of their children at all.
The days until the wedding practically flew by, with the squirrel doing her best to avoid his Aunt Josephine and leave the woman to the care of her parents while she scurried around and helped get everything ready.

And then the day finally came. Aunt Josephine was standing in front of him, fixing his coat once again. "Stop fidgeting," she muttered as she brushed some hair out of his face.
"I'm not," Kazifel muttered in return.
She gave him a stern look before sighing and reaching into her coat. She produced a rather pathetic looking dried flower and placed it into his hands. "This is for good luck, I suppose. It was part of your... mother's bouquet on the day that she got married. I was the one who caught it, and I hope that hasn't cursed it or anything."
Kazifel blinked. Aunt Josephine was trying to joke about something. Well that was... weird. He wasn't quite sure how to take that. "Thank you," he said as clearly as he could manage. He placed the dried flower in his coat. This was just so very weird. He was getting married, his Aunt was being nice... was this the apocalypse and he just wasn't informed? How could everything be going so... right?

Femi was feeling especially giggly and giddy the morning of her wedding. Yvette and Daddy had agreed to keep the children with them for most of the day while her mother helped her to get ready, and they even had Jingles out to play babysitter with some of the children curled up next to him like a hot water bottle. Most of their small little village was turning out for the wedding, since who could resist a social event like this with free food and gossip. They didn't come very often in the Wood, or at least this neck of it, and everyone was taking advantage of the opportunity. Even Vren had walked from his tower to attend the wedding of the girl who may as well have been his niece.
She wore a veil and there were flowers on its band and clutched in her hands, though she had refused any and all attempts by her mother over the past few months to get her some sort of dress or wrap or covering or anything. "It's my wedding and I don't want to wear clothes," she'd said huffily, and that had been that.
And now there was only an hour to go and she was fussing with her veil while her mother smacked her hands away and told her not to mess it up.

They still had an hour to go, and Kazifel was trying his hardest not to pace. Josephine kept on listing off things for him to reply to, but it was difficult for him to concentrate. He would go out there when he was suppose to, but until then he had to sit and wait. It was like being kicked in the face while waiting permission to talk.
Finally Aunt Josephine threw up her hands and gave up trying to make him comfortable in any sense of the word. "I'm going to check on the bride, all right? You... don't do anything stupid while I'm gone." She said shaking a finger at him.
"I swear I'll be good."
Josephine rolled her eyes before stalking away from him. Now, where was that girl? After few minutes of being generally confused she happened upon the girl and her mother. "Is everything going well in here?" She asked with a tilt of her head. "Why.... isn't she wearing anything but a veil? Was there something wrong with the dress?"
Kazifel was in a wonderful suit and jacket that Josephine had managed to bring along with her. Tails and everything, and now his bride was is.... well a veil. She understood that biped forms were a little more difficult to dress but this was a wedding. Even if Kazifel didn't care what she wore... it was supposed to be a proper wedding.

Femi looked up in surprise as Josephine stumbled across them, pink eyes shining with excitement and nerves and anticipation. She wasn't going to let anything at all ruin her mood today, even nosy old ladies who were going to make her mother go on another mini-rant.
The feline rolled her eyes and pointed at her daughter. "You try getting this one into clothes. I've been doing it since she was a little girl and freezing to death in the middle of the winter. About the only thing she was willing to wear was the coat that Kazifel made for her and that was bright pink so I had to say no. Besides that, though, everything's just fine."
Sniffing, the squirrel held her flowers closer. "The veil is enough. Nobody else is wearing a veil and we don't have any other squirrel's in the village besides Daddy, so it will be obvious enough who the bride is." She really didn't want to get into an argument about it. Her mood was upbeat and chipper. And nervous as hell, not about getting married itself but about messing something up and embarrassing Kazifel or something equally awful.

Josephine stared blankly for a moment. How... could she not want to wear a dress? It was once in a life time you got married and she didn't want to wear a dress. That almost made Josephine cry--well she did cry on the inside.
"But...that dress... and..." Josephine shook her head up. Okay maybe she sounded a little too surprised by the news. "You know, Kazifel is a a wonderful looking suit just for you. He's fidgeting out of his mind wondering what you'll look like in a pretty white dress. It's probably going to be a bit of a disappointment when he just sees you in a veil." With that Josephine shrugged and slipped out of the room. That was probably the worse thing she had done in a long while.
But damnit she wanted Kazifel to have the perfect wedding. She never would have the chance too so why couldn't he.
Meanwhile Kazifel was contemplating all of the people who were showing up. Guh. People. This was absolutely terrifying.

Femi returned Josephine's stare just as blankly as she'd gotten it, watching the woman leave and waiting until she was out of sight before she let loose a little wail of wordless worry. Kazifel was waiting to see her in a dress? He was going to be disappointed?! She didn't know that! He hadn't told her he wanted to see a dress, just that he wanted to see her and that she would be beautiful and not to worry, but if he was waiting for a dress then was he going to be unhappy when she came out without one? Would it ruin his mood? That would ruin the wedding! She didn't want him to be unhappy or disappointed at all! Her mother took told of her arm with wide eyes as she hyperventilated, terrified that she had just ruined everything despite herself. Only it felt strange when her mother's furred hand grabbed hold of her arm. As if it... didn't have fur. She froze and looked down, then shrieked when she saw pink flesh. Had all of her hair just fallen out in a panic?! ...no. Her eyes focused enough to take in more than that and saw the fabric swishing below her hand, white skirts with black trim. She stared, utterly shocked, and couldn't find a single thing to say.

Josephine stopped dead in her tracks as she heard the shriek. Oh... crap. She hurried back to the place where Femi was and opened the door to see.... wait what? She blinked a few times to stare at the human woman and the feline. Oh well. Uh. Wow. Josephine went back the way she came and hurried back to Kazifel.
He had very much heard the shriek and was about to bolt out of the room, only to find his Aunt with her hands on his shoulders. "Everything is fine! She was just a little surprised! She looks fantastic!" Josephine said trying to cover up her complete and utter shock at the events that just occurred.
Kazifel was throughly confused as he stared blankly at his Aunt. What had she done? He made a worried noise at her when she tried her best to smile and pretend everything was okay. Well, if she was smiling like that something was "okay" otherwise she would be giving one of her snarky grins. "Wha--"
"It's a surprise. That's all. I imagine Femi would be very upset if I ruined the surprise for you."
