Hatter quickly ticked off the raccoon's helpful commentary, making a mental note in the back of his head. A local Queen of Spades Squirrel and the more outlandish mixed-realm Highlander/Corvistownien, once-doll Kazifel; King of Clubs. A photographic memory really came in handy for situations like these, and for the fact that Hatter had an aversion to paper. In the calculated disorder of his home, Hatter simply couldn't manage to keep tabs on all his notes and so, rather than risk losing them, he took to memorizing everything.
"Thank you, Rocky. We shouldn't be gone long at all." He paused momentarily, glancing to Loreta as she stared at the stubbornly unhelpful doll. "I'll take good care of her, you've got my word on it."
It was another one of those strange moments where his tone turned entirely serious but this time his smile remained; bright and cheerful as usual. He would die himself before he allowed Loreta to be harmed for following him into The Wood.
"Yes, we should probably go now. Take care of whatever you need and we'll go whenever you're ready, Lore."

"Thank you," Rocky muttered before heading to the door. He might as well see his guests out properly. Hopefully he would be seeing Loreta again. Words were simply words, he hoped the man was more than just words.
Loreta blinked. Apparently there was part of the conversation that she missed. Oh well, she hoped it wasn't that important. The heron hopped her usual hop to the door. Hopefully he boss would be receptive, and judging from the time he would still be in the office when she got back. There was a chance of him arguing, but usually he caved. She was the only heart that worked for him, and besides him she was the highest ranking member of the business. For her boss that meant she got away with quite a bit. Whatever worked for him. Loreta could careless about ranks. "See you soon Rocky, next time you hit a break through remember to drop me a line eh?" She brushed him with one of her wings. If she had hands it would have been a smack upside the head.
She turned to the Hatter and gave a wave of her wing. "I should be back soon. It may be a few days to get things arranged and all. See you then."
And with that the heron was off.

Hatter waved cheerfully to Loreta and watched her take off, smiling as she faded out of view. He then turned to Rocky and smirked slightly, holding out a hand to the bipedal Raccoon.
"It was a pleasure to meet you, Rocky...and I hope I can help your new doll friend." He coughed slightly. "For all that she appears to be a sour little bitch." Laughing warmly he moved forward, moving backwards away from the door. "We'll be back once we've learned a bit."
With that that he turned smoothly on his heel, simuntaneously waving goodbye and calling Doorie over with a short whistle. They shouldn't be gone too awfully long, he imagined, but it would be an interesting trip for sure. It'd been a while since he'd been in The Woods and he'd surely never gone with someone like this. He chuckled to himself, the little Mome glancing at him as he did. How he'd managed to convince the girl to come with him he still wasn't sure but this was definitely going to be fun.<3
