Pravus sat beneath a planted trellis a short ways away from his Queen's favourite spot by the pond. He looked up for a second, glancing at the pond and his Queen who sat staring at the water before looking down at the box in his hands. Ahh, it was almost like a birthday when he got new, pretty, shiny things. The bench was a few feet from an arched door leading to an outdoor hall that was shaded and cool. The cat, oddly, had never really liked extra heat as he seemed to produce plenty on his own. He ran his hands lovingly over the hand-carved box and opened it, displaying his new gifts to himself to the light. He lifted one, a long razor and it flashed as light danced off the meticulously shaped blade. Oh how he loved the fact that the palace payed for all his dungeon tools. It was going to be a good day, besides the headache.

Heilyn was feeling troubled lately. There was a weapon in her mind itching at her to come into existence and she so desired it. Razor thin, razor sharp... subtle, but deadly. And she couldn't have it until she became a King. The longing for this thing... both and object and part of her... was becoming ore than a distraction. Perhaps I should become a King under Shinrai for now, then switch to serve under Xiven when she reaches the position? Heilyn did much prefer the young cat, especially after she cast away her bindings. In her personal opinion, that tradition of binding was the region's curse. Then again, the effects of the Bog's aura did travel beyond the Wall where the poisons couldn't reach... and it was probably called a name similar to the word 'tourniquet" before... shit! Her step halted as saw someone sitting in the place of her destination. It was her favorite place in the Garden when the sun was out. Her lip twitched in annoyance as she leaned against a pillar of the shaded "hallway" where she was. It wasn't like she was out to really enjoy the view today, anyway. She was thinking... That looks like a pretty blade, though, she thought, looking at it from a distance. She realized that the person holding it was Pravus. She'd heard a lot about the man. Any blade he got must be of excellent quality.... but Heilyn kept her distance. She found it wise not to approach the distraught torturer while he had a weapon in hand.

Humm, satisfactory. He replaced the blade back in it's holder before grabbing another item from within. Ooh, new ties, always fun. They were metal even, with special zips. He held them up to inspect, looking at the toggles that held the ties closed. No more worn leather straps or snapped rope. Besides, these would hurt a hell of a lot more if they decided to struggle.
His head tilted a bit before he placed it down as well also. Pravus sat fairly still, trailing a hand over all his new toys. He was sure to have fun today when he went back down to the dungeons, but Fino had wanted to go outside, so outside they went. He never argued with Fino, he never even thought of doing so.
Humm. . he'd have to remember the craftsmith next time he had anything to garner for the dungeons.

Hmm, she'd have to find somewhere else if she wanted to think. She wanted to lay down for one, and two those shinies he was pulling out of the box were very distracting. They seemed to be plainer in their make than most of the weapons the nobles around here were running around with. This spoke well for the young man, choosing practicality over beauty.
Well, I suppose it all depends on one's definition of "beauty" she thought, having alway found beauty in the functionality of a tool than anything. Honestly, if it was meant to look pretty rather than be used, don't call it a weapon.
She her favorite patch of grass to roll on when no one was looking a little ways away. However, Pravus was a Cat...
Non-canines just don't understand. They never will.
Then an idea hit her. she knew how unfriendly the Cat was... Maybe if I talk to him, he'll go away! Smirking at her own brilliance, she got up from the pillar she was leaning up against and meandered over to the Cat. She kept her distance, however, not feeling comfortable getting within arm's reach.
"Pardon me," she spoke up in a mellow tone, "But may I be so bold as to see that blade you held earlier?"

Serafino looked up from his contemplation of the pond and the specially-chosen koi swimming just beneath the surface. Their scales gleamed beautifully in the sunlight, even more so than the blades and various assorted objects Pravus had been pulling from his little box of toys. He'd found himself missing his fish, oddly enough, and he wasn't quite sure just how far away he could go from the feline's physical form without facing consequences. Thus, he wanted to have him nearby and had convinced him to come outside. It hadn't been difficult at all. A kiss was all it took.
And now someone else was intruding on the quiet scene? His lips twitched downward in the beginnings of a scowl, but his expression evened out once more when he saw who it was. Heilyn... he'd rather liked her, all things considered. Not 'liked', but she was quite tolerable with the exception of the smell. And now she had her human form... so did the smell still linger? He wished that he could know, but being incorporeal put a damper on his sense of smell by nullifying it completely.
"Does she still smell like tepid swamp water as a human?" he asked Pravus idly.

Pravus tried to flip an ear back, thinking he heard someone and realized he was in human form. Useless thing. It was probably just the breeze anyway, or someone passing by under the hall. No one was stupid enough to approach him anymore, especially when he had weapons out. And was grinning like he was. Oh yes, most people were far to smart to tempt that situation.
So when a voice, and a feminine one at that sounded behind him he turned slowly towards it. He blinked slowly and registered her face. Pravus had seen her around the Courts, especially around Bernard's usual haunts, but he really had no idea who she was. And then. . she asked to see his blade.
A slow sadistic grin spread across his face, oh she could see it all right. Though it probably wouldn't do to hurt a fellow Court member. Perhaps it was time to see what she was made of just for fun anyways.
With a quick flick of his hand the razor was in his grasp and flipped open. To most, that quick gesture alone would have been threatening. "If you wish."
He lifted his nose a little to sniff, too bad it was human. Then turned back to where his Queen sat, razor in hand still extended. "Don't smell anything."

An eyebrow rose as a smile spread across the Cat's face. Heilyn applauded herself mentally for having the foresight of staying out of reach of the crazy. Her trained eyes were able to follow the lightening fast movement of his hand easily. She saw he had no intention of harming her, however, and remained completely still save for an impressed blink and her eyebrow coming back down. It was a very graceful movement, it would be hard not to appreciate it.
"Well, thank you," she said in a casual tone, generally unimpressed by hot shots and their antics. She reached to take the offered blade when her hand stopped.
She was not frightened by the movement of the blade or is first statement... but the next action by the Cat. He... looked to where there was nobody and said something. He was... really as crazy as they said he was, wasn't he? while his head was turned, she took the blade. Best take it away from him before he could do anything with it, right?
She examined the the blade and gave an appreciative smirk. It was plain, inornate... but so well made. She checked the sharpness of the blade the correct way by moving her finger perpendicular to the blade's edge rather than along the length. She'd learn to feel through the gloves and made a small amused noise as she could feel the sharpness of the blade. How fun! In a swift motion the blade was turned around so the handle was closer to Pravus for him to take it back. It wasn't a fancy flip or any sort of flashy movement, but it was quick, and she did it without cutting herself.
"Much appreciated," there was an amused overtone to her voice and facial expression. Sharp, shiny pretties always lightened her day.

"Hmm. An improvement, then. That was really the only problem I had being around her before." Fino watched the knife play, nonplussed. Somehow blades were far less interesting when you knew that you couldn't use them or be cut by them. They lost a lot of their appeal, which disappointed him. He had quite enjoyed playing with Marie's edge before all of this.
And what a strange way to refer to his own death. 'All of this'. It was vaguely disturbing, how easy it had become to write off the whole business of being alive. It had been... too long since his death, he thought. It was getting a tough harder to remember what being alive really meant. What it felt like. Only when Pravus's mind was there to help his own support the reality of his intangible existence did it all come back together.
He stood and walked over next to the feline, though he probably could have 'floated' just as easily. The semblance of normality was more important. "What is she doing?" he asked in a deceptively casual tone, eyes slightly narrowed as he followed the canine's actions. "Why would she be interested in your toys...? Hmm."

Pravus growled just a little out of instinct when he felt the blade being taken from his hand. Though he supposed, he had offered. He just hadn't expected the female to actually take the offer, and grab the razor from him. The cat nodded to his Queen's comment as he watched the canine run her gloved hand over the blade.
Huh, apparently she actually knew how to handle the weapon. Though he supposed being a heart she did have the predisposition. But. . he could tell someone who knew from experience. The cat tilted his head, watching her movements still but answering his Queen's questions.
"Oh. . she's just testing the sharpness." His head turned to look up into Fino's eyes for a second before turning back to watch her hands on the razor. "Not sure."
This time his words were directed at Heilyn as he took it back. "Not a problem. . you must have experience to move like that." His eyes held a dark question as a unreadable smirk crossed his face. He did like a girl that knew how to fight. . back.

Okay, well, he wasn't leaving and he was still spouting crazy. Great. However, his knowledge of weapons gave her a sense of respect for him.
"I have quite a bit of experience, actually," she answered him back as he took back the weapon, "I prefer hand-to-hand combat, personally, but I have a very deep love and respect for bladed things. Partly due to my mother, partly due to my own temperament." She wanted him to leave, but she couldn't help it. He'd found a subject that interested her, causing her to talk a little more than she usually did. Despite the fact he was a frickin' not job, she was starting to like him a little.
"Who were you talking?" she asked fairly bluntly glancing in Fino's direction where Pravus had looked before. Hey, she was curious, didn't hurt to ask, right? Well, no, it could, but that was why she stayed out of arm's reach, wasn't it?
