The feline smiled at him and nodded in thanks, then slowly limped her way back into the house. The injury seemed even more pronounced today, perhaps due to her exhaustion. Whatever it was, her gait was almost unsteady.
Mick's bony little tail wiggled in the air like a pale blur and he barely refrained himself from jumping on Aderlass, instead jumping around him like some sort of insane dog-rabbit. "Of COURSE I'd find you!" he agreed with a cackling laugh, then paused and leaned in close to the mouse's ear. "And you should totally hide away in the house tomorrow," he whispered conspiratorially, grinning from ear to ear. "From some of the stuff we were doing today, it looks like it's gonna be really neat. I can't believe all the cool ritual stuff Mom has hidden away. I've never even seen like half of it!"
He jumped away after saying that and crouched his front half close to the ground, eyes twinkling a challenge. Tag! He wanted to play tag!

The mouse eyed the pup with a curious eye, watching as the pup continued to bounce around the yard as if he now had springs for back legs. He did not need this old friend of his to scratch the curious itch he had on what was going on in the house. This celebration was causing everyone in town to be on edge it seemed.
“Oh, I trust that you would find me.” he replied easily.
When the pup landed in front of him, crouching so his front half was low to the ground, the mouse recognized the position. Mick was about to play tag . . . and he would not allow the pup to win.
Shaking off the hauntings of the past that were now shadowing over him, he shifted from his bi-pedal form to his animal one. Jumping forward he touched a gloved hand on the pup’s head, “TAG!” he shouted before quickly scampering off.

Mick yelped as if he'd been burned, though of course the mouse's hands were gloved and it was no more than his excitement and delighted surprise that sent him jumping backward in shock. "AWW YEAH! You're goin' down!" he shouted gleefully even as he rocketed off after Aderlass.
They played for a little while, the mad chaos of 'Mick' and 'tag' in the same game hard for anyone who'd never played it to understand. Finally he stopped dead, which allowed the mouse to touch him rather easily. "Yeah kay you win dinnertime food now!" As he took off for the house, it was left up to interpretation that Miss Eva had called for him and his sensitive ears had picked up on the sound.
As soon as they got inside, it would be evident that dinner was ready and plated and steaming, two plates on the table and one on the floor. Mick dug into his meaty mash with gusto, mashed potatoes and peas and beefy gravy for dinner.

While they played Mick’s unique version of tag, or what had evolved from tag to Mick’s unique version of the game, the mouse completely forgot about all of his worries that had gathered up from his visit with his family. Something he was quite thankful for.
As Mick dashed inside for dinner sometime later, he followed a little out of breath. No one had near the stamina that the Pomeranian seemed to have, and he had to admit that he was a little out of shape. His life just was not all that demanding anymore. He needed a goal, something that would challenge him and his skills, and he thought he had just the thing.
Entering the house the smell of dinner brought a rumble of reply. He took his seat at the table, “This sure smells good Miss Eva.” he said in way of a compliment for the food. He felt kind of bad that she had to go through the trouble of making their dinner after having to deal with Mick all day. Though he was sure it was not something she was not used to.

The feline smiled at him, seeming almost faded around the edges. It was hard to tell whether she meant the expression or not. "Thank you, Aderlass. I appreciate that. Growing boys need a hearty dinner, after all." Mick just whined his agreement from the floor, face buried in his mash and busy licking it off the plate at a world-record pace. This meal would fill anyone right up, deceptively small, but the mashed potatoes and gravy just about stuck to the ribs.
When she was mostly done her meal, Eva paused in eating and sighed. "I think I'd best start preparing the living room for tomorrow. If you boys could take your plates into the kitchen and finish up, then go back to your room, Muffin, I'd appreciate it very much. I can't have you dancing around over the floor while I'm trying to draw on it and place figures and whatnot."
The Pomeranian obediently nosed his plate into the kitchen, still licking up a few streaks of gravy left behind before he nudged it up and into his mouth, then stood against the cabinets to settle it on the counter. He turned to Aderlass and beamed. "Whacha wanna do tonight, huh, La? Mom says I need to save my energy for the big day tomorrow and all the prancing and dancing and whatever else she wants me to do around the big circle before I jump in." He trotted into his room, fully expecting the mouse to follow, and proceeded to bounce around, ears perked for a response. He almost seemed to ricochet off of the walls, still with energy unspent.

The food was indeed very good, something he was grateful for. After the game of ‘tag’ he was famished. Quickly downing the food he followed Miss Eva’s request and followed Mick into the kitchen placing the plate on top of his on the counter.
His ears perked up at her comments, though they seemed to be innocent enough. Maybe he would stick close to the house just to see what was going on. Giving his head a slight shake he tried to dispel the thought.
Making his way towards Mick’s room, though a little more slowly then the ‘energy withholding pup’, he entered to find Mick’s small form literally shaking from excitement.
Something they could do, huh? The only thing that he really did that was all that quite seemed to be his working with metals or jewel’s and drinking if he was not with Minh. The female got in more bar fights then anyone else combined, it amazed him. Though the after affects of her bar fighting made it to where he was not going to complain about it too much. “You know. I have no clue about wot we could do. You have any ideas?”

Mick paused, bouncing a little on his paws, and looked around the room for 'inspiration' on what to do. Finally his eyes landed on a particular toy and he grinned, baring his teeth before he grabbed it and shook it. Then he dropped it on the ground in front of Aderlass and panted happily. "I love this toy. This is one of my favorite toys. Mom gave me this toy when I turned eighteen and she told me I was her favorite kid, more than any of the others combined, and that I would always be her favorite. They all left and I didn't. It's a good toy. I pretend to interrogate it and shake it hard when it doesn't give me what I want."
He laughed and started in on the 'questioning', fully expecting his friend to join in as he hopped around and glared and made faces and laughed gleefully. He could only keep up the play for about half an hour, however, before he suddenly let out a huge yawn and sat down with a 'thump'. "I think I'm tired. And I have to wake up with the sun. And so do you, I guess. So maybe we should sleep?"

Watching his friend pull out his favorite toy and begin shaking it, he felt one of his eyes twitch at what he knew was going to come next. There was no way that he was going to play such a game.
As Mick began to interrogate the poor toy, something that looked like a radish with arms and legs and a very poorly drawn face which he bet Mick had done himself, he began to become interested though he would never admit it out loud. This was something that he had never imagined himself doing, he thought as he found himself joining in on the fun, circling the poor toy and yelling at it, Juris floating in the air around the toy making himself into the vague shape of Mick whenever the pup got to close behind the mouse. However, if wot Minh had told him was correct chances were high that he would be doing this again with his own kids. He was not sure if he was happy about that or not.
When Mick suddenly plopped himself on the ground and declared himself tired, the mouse found himself stopping in mid-air, falling to the ground with a soft squeak of protest. Pulling himself into a sitting position he discovered that he also was a little tired. Well I’ll be he thought. It had been a while since he had actually worn himself out to the point of being tired. Yep, Life had definitely gotten too easy.
“If we are going to have to get up with the sun then I guess you are right about going to bed. Night.” He replied, making his way over to where he slept watching as Mick began his usual routine of getting comfy.

Circle-circle-circle-paw-paw-circle-paw-flop. "Night!"

A knock on the door at a ridiculously early hour of the morning snapped Mick awake, bouncing from his bed and stretching with a loud, long whine. "BIRTHDAY!" he shouted at the top of his lungs, claws tap-dancing across the floor in his glee, tick-tick-tick-tick-tick never-ending. His mother sighed outside the door and nudged it open, looking happy... and half-dead. She didn't look like she'd slept a wink the whole night, despite how exhausted she seemed the day before. Her paws were dusty with white powder. From the state of the living room floor, that could be taken as chalk.
"No breakfast this morning, I'm afraid," she murmured, smiling apologetically at the young men. "I didn't quite have time to get it ready. Sorry, boys. Besides, it's better for you if we do this on an empty stomach, Muffin. Less distractions and all that. Be careful not to smudge anything or knock anything over. I'll be very, very cross if you do."
The pup nodded his head vigorously and ran over to give Aderlass a lick, cackling as he left the room. He knew very well how utterly annoying they were.

Everything was blissfully quite then suddenly there was a shout of ‘Morning’ and the chaos of Mick began once again. Muttering something about cursing puppy tails to become bent, he pulled the covers up over his head, trying to hide away from the noise and light. Even though they had gone to bed pretty early waking up this early in the morning still was not a pleasant experience.
Before he could fully pull the covers over his head, however, Mick greeted him in his usual manner – a sloppy lick. Suddenly sitting up he lunged for the pup, determined to do some damage to him. As he cackling left the room, the mouse called out after him, “Come back here you . . .” the rest of his sentence was cut off as he feel unceremoniously to the floor. Cursing the pup with every word he knew how to say, he slowly pulled himself up into a sitting position, clutching his elbow.
“Oh! Miss Eva, good morning” He greeted finally spying Mick’s mother. Eyeing her though one eye, the other squinting in pain, he noticed that it looked like she had not gotten any sleep during the night. “Do not worry about the breakfast; I am sure I can find myself something over at Miss Ada’s.
