Today was the day and Isolde was nervous, she had not been to the court before but she decided to bite the bullet and get an appointment with the Queen of Diamonds. She wanted to better herself and possibly get into the Courts at some point but first she really needed to get her feet wet and learn what it was they did there. She had put on her best clothes (well the most conservative anyway), and marched confidently out the door of the house in Kahmden she shared with Sabe. She needed to start acting like she was worth a spit or no one was going to care enough to take her serious. She knew one thing though, even if today's meeting didn't go exactly as she hoped, she still at least had tried and that was all that mattered to her. She would listen to everything the Queen said to her and do as told. She approached the Court, taking a deep breathe and knocked on the door. Well, here goes nothing.

((OOC: From you post I'm assuming she's at the gates. This gives me a chance to be creative.)) One of the guards came to answer the knock on the door. The guard raised an eyebrow at the girl. He had not been informed of an special guests today, and she looked dressed up for a reason. Normally they at least told the guards if someone was coming for a Jack Quest or some such something. The canine shrugged it off. "What's your name and who are you here to see?" He asked with a cordial tone. He waited for her response. --- Meanwhile, Theofilus was in a private meeting. The sparrow leaned on the palm of his hand and stared at the man in front of him with his good eye. "So all the rumors can't be confirmed?"The man was a delicate cream color, with purple tipping his ears and tail, he had tuffs on his ears that were part of his feline heritage, but he mostly took after a canine. The man was fully dressed in a uniform, a band on both his arms with the diamond insignia on it. "Not a single one your Majesty. I apologize for my lack of information." The man gave an apologetic look. He had heard rumors that this Queen was powerful, but never had the pleasure of seeing a single thing he was capable of. He wasn't going to upset him. He waved a hand. "That's fine. Would you like some tea before you go? I have another meeting with someone I don't have the foggiest about. Might be interesting if you stick around.""Thank you, sir."

Isolde was a little startled as the guard opened the door. She hadn't expected it so quickly so she jumped a bit, not so much that he would've seen her though.
"My name is Isolde and I've made an appointment to see His Majesty Queen Theofilus today" she said with a spring in her step. She was surprised that the guard didn't know she was coming today, she hoped that didn't mean that the Queen forgot about their appointment. It would be a shame to have come for nothing when Isolde was so eager to see him. She would clean dishes for the man if that was he so chose, she was that interested.
She was a hard little worker and once she fixed her mind on something, she was not going to easily give up. She had always wanted to work under Queen Theofilus, she had heard he was an avid reader and had quite the extensive library and that was what made her squee most. She respected him for being so learned and hoped she might pick up some things along the way.

The canine didn't bat an eyelash. How many people came and went to see the Queen, not like he cared. He just had gate duty. "All you need to do is find the attendant named Jill on the second floor. She'll lead you directly to his Majesty's office." If she had been more important someone would have come out to greet her like one of the Queen's Kings. So. Jill was good enough.
With that he pointed her in the right direction. Hopefully the mix wouldn't get lost.
---
Theofilus opened his desk drawer, the canine mixed watched him with curiosity. The Queen thought nothing of taking his eye patch off in front of the man and searching for his glass eye. He wanted to at least be a bit more presentable when this person came to see him. It was just a general rule that he wore his glass eye when meeting strangers or during formal meetings.
"Here we go," he muttered when he found the case buried under a pile of papers. "So where were we? Oh yes! You said you knew a noble in the Court of Hearts...."
The man smirked. This was a lovely conversation to kill time.

"Jill, got it thank you" she said sweetly and nodded. "I'm sure I can find her." she started toward the direction the guard had pointed out for her. She looked around as she walked, feeling very excited to be there. The inside of the building was so elegant, she couldn't believe such a place existed.
She got to the second floor and looked around for the person she sought. She spotted a woman she assumed was Jill and quickly moved over. She seemed busy but as soon as she got a cue, she spoke to her. "Hello, My name is Isolde... I have an appointment to see His Majesty Queen Theofilus... I wondered if you might direct me"
She hoped this was the right person, she could only imagine what she would think if it wasn't. Some crazy girl accosts a poor worker at the Courts, imagine! That would be pretty scandalous.

Jill hate her job. She was only a temporary receptionist, but she still hated it. Her normal job in the courts had nothing to do with this... the parrot sighed as she leafed through the various documents and took care of someone's inquiry.
Her eyes narrowed when Isolde spoke. She was here to see his Majesty? So she was the one who wrote that letter. Wasn't one of the kings supposed to take care of this? Whatever, she could care less.
"Follow me." She said as she stood up and started leading her to the Queen's office.
---
"Do you even though why this young lady is coming today, Your Majesty?" The feline mix said as he sipped his tea. The Queen was quite a character... he didn't quite approve of all the man's scandalous love affairs but not everyone was purist. And he had other redeeming qualities.
"Well, Mr. Ture. Apparently she wants some sort of apprenticeship. I'm not entirely sure what my logic was at the time, but she did make an appointment. It would be rather rude if I let one my Kings handle it last minute." He said with a small smile. Of course he had high expectations for this girl if she was so eager. If she slipped up there would probably be no forgiveness.
The sparrow raised an eyebrow at the door knock. "Come in." He said motioning for Ture come around to stand behind his desk. The man followed the orders without hesitation.
Jill stood to the side as she opened the door. "Miss Isolde, Your Majesty." She gave a small bow before making her exit. She would have lingered to soak in the image of the Queen, but she didn't want him to think that she was a slacker.

((Dreadfully short, sorry >.>))
Isolde nodded silently following the parrot down the hallway to the Queen's office. She focused in her mind what she was going to say to him, rehearsing everything so she wouldn't make a mistake. It would be silly to come this far only to fail her mission.
She took a deep breath as Jill knocked on the door and announced her presence. As she opened the door, she immediately noticed there were two men instead of the one. She hoped she wasn't interrupting an important meeting, though since he called for them to enter she figured it must have been alright.
She bowed as she stepped before the Queen. "Your Majesty" and waited for him to address her.

Theofilus smiled. It had been a while since he saw someone besides Family from the Lakes. She was a mix real though, which made him curious. "Please sit down Miss Isolde," He said motioning to the seat that was in front of him. "If you would like some tea feel free to pour yourself a cup."
Now it was on the business. The man shuffled his papers briefly. He wanted everything in order as he spoke. Hopefully she wouldn't notice the sheer lack of movement coming from his glass eye. Some people were more curious than others though.
Ture stood behind the Queen with a small smirk painted on his muzzle. What an adorable little girl. The meeting with the Queen must have meant quite a bit for her. She was lucky the sparrow was so very kind.
"So you're interested in acquiring a job?" Theofilus asked looking up from the papers. "Why exactly did you want to see me and not some other member of the court about this?"

Isolde nodded and sat down in the seat the queen had pointed to. "Thank you, Your Majesty" she said politely as took his offer of a cup of tea. She straightened up as he made it clear it was time for business conversation.
She took a sip of her tea before she answered the Queen's question. "Honestly Your Majesty, I was taught to think that if you are going to do a job you needed to do it the best you could. I have looked up to you for a very long time and if you would be kind enough to take me on as even a sort of intern, I am a fast learner and could be very helpful to the courts.
I have wanted to work under you personally since I first learned about the Courts, you are very highly regarded to me" she took a breath and smiled. She took a sip of her tea and calmly waited while he responded, hopefully in her favor.

Theofilus raised an eyebrow. Yes. Children looked up to him. He was the Queen of Diamonds. It just seemed that she was telling him things he wanted to hear. The sparrow when to open his mouth but found that Ture was already speaking.
"Young Lady. Many people idolize his Majesty, the Queen of Diamonds, for his kindness and charity. Children look up to him around the realms. What makes you think that he'll let you have a precious internship under him himself just because you waltzed into hear with no prior knowledge beyond the common." The military elitist gave her a rather sour look.
The Queen didn't glance up at the man. He was right however rude he was. "Well. Let's no dance around the maypole young Lady. Give me one good reason why I should let you intern under me personally. Ture, however rude he is, has a valid point. I know nothing about you or your capabilities. You haven't been tested by one of my kings and so far I'm unimpressed because you're telling me just what I want to hear. Wow me, Miss Isolde, and I might give you a chance."
