Rosemary hopped and announced, "All right then!" She trotted forward down the path they had came. She knew exactly where she wanted to go, and she could never get lost. She really was thankful for that power, it had saved her so many times.
Sage followed quietly, not knowing where they were going. She couldn't help but wonder what Thalia was planning. Well as long as there were no needles or knives she would be fine. There was no need to worry about those sorts of things.
Parsley hummed to himself as the continued to move forward. He wanted to see what was going to happen to his sister, and he couldn't help but wonder if their parents would notice when she got back. He hoped not, otherwise dad was going to be furious at all of them. That wasn't a happy prospect.
When they made it to their destination Rosemary walked into the bar without hesitation, heading straight for the piano across the room. No one batted an eyelash at the set of children that walked in. "Do the honors Miss Thalia?" Rosemary said with a wave of her paw.

Thalia nodded at her new friend; she didn't think it at all odd that no one would care about a bunch of kids wandering into bar. Booze was as much a daily part of life as furniture or street signs. It was a harmless background object to her, so she figured it would be for every else, too. She just wondered if she would be able to get something non-alcoholic to drink like raspberry lemonade or perhaps some apple juice.
She looked at the piano critically. She had tapped out tunes with her tentacles before (the Hair, which would be better suited to the task, had merely waved insolently when she tried to force it to press a key, and had received a particularly harsh punitive brushing), but she didn't really need dexterity to hit one key at a time. And once she had the shy girl's range, her fun could begin.
"Sing it," she said cheerfully, tapping a key.

Rosemary skittered off to get some non-alcoholic drinks for the little party. After all, this bartender was particularly nice to her telling her his weird military stories and the like. Hopefully he would have something besides grape juice this time. She really wasn't fond of the overly sweet stuff he had.
Parsley sat on a stool nearby watching his sister and Thalia intently. As far as experiments went this was weird. He never really understood why you would want to work with living things when inanimate objects were just so much more fun. Gears didn't scream when you accidentally slipped with your screwdriver. Of course, Thalia wouldn't be using knives because Sage was a pansy like that. He rolled his eyes.
Sage blushed for a very brief moment. There were people in the bar--she could feel some of them staring at her back expectantly. She took a deep breath. All she needed to do was sing the scales for a warm up.
A Soprano would probably be an good conclusion.

(I post! With help from my old friend...Contrivance!) She had such a lovely voice...Thalia was so absorbed in listening to it and mentally running through a list of experiment options that it took a moment for it to dawn on her that someone was making a shrieky noise. Many people were making many shrieky noises, in a very "DEAR GOD WHAT IS THAT THING" kind of way. For a moment Thalia assumed they were talking about her--some people had a strange fear of tentacles--or perhaps Parsley--some had an equally strange fear of fairies--but then she opened her eyes and saw that it was none of the above. In the bar, stalking towards them, hissing and biting at anything that came near, was a very familiar bandersnatch. Thalia blinked. What was Monty doing here? "Hey there little buddy," she said. Monty stared. "Why are you here?" Another stare. "Did Mama send you?" Monty flapped hir ragged demon wing furiously, baring teeth and growling. Thalia was going to take that as a yes. "Tell Mama I'm busy running an experiment. She'll understand. Or she's forgotten she even sent you out already." Monty hissed and began backing up slowly, clearly intending for the girl to follow hir. Thalia sighed. "Fine. Let me say goodbye first."

When Sage stopped she was thoroughly confused by the sounds of the bar. People seemed to be panicking over something. She watched with a confused expression on her face, her brother did as well once he noticed.
They both watched the interesting conversation she had with the demonic something not quite totally unlike a bander. Where was Rose when you needed her?
"You're leaving?" Sage asked quietly, disappointment lingering in her voice.
"Is that a bander?" Parsley asked before actually remembering his manners. "Oh, gee. Sorry to see you go so soon... We didn't even get to do anything hor--fun to Sage."
Rose finally padded back, carrying a tray of drinks with her. They guy had actually bought sugary drinks just for her visits! She practically pranced as she rejoined the group.
She stared at the Bander thing and looked back to Thalia, the depressed look on her sister's face and Parlsey's utter wonderment. "I obviously missed something important." She said as she shrugged off the tray. "If you're going to leave, which I think you are, take one of these."
Rosemary offered Thalia a glass bottle.

Thalia wrapped a tentacle around the bottle, happy that at least she was coming out of this whole thing with bonus juice. Juice made everything better. "Thanks!" she said.
Mama had better have a very good reason for sending for her. She didn't like having to leave her new friends and what might have been a very fun experiment. But it as just as likely that Mama had no reason at all and just wanted to break up whatever fun she might be having (though admittedly that was more Mom than Mama), because her moms were kind of weird.
"Sorry to cut this short," she continued sadly, eying Monty balefully. "The bander demands. But! Maybe I shall run into all of you again...and then we can pick up where we left off."
She waggled her free tentacle in a goodbye wave and followed Monty out of the bar.
