Daegmund was correct that Ira would only dispense information as he saw fit, which tended along the grounds of 'things better known yesterday or even five minutes ago', 'things that amuse the snot out of Ira', or 'things completely useless to anyone'. Joy for the poor Guardsman to be stuck with the equine.
Still, Ira was preferable to Se, who would just as soon see everyone else dead as aid them in any manner, shape, or form. The hybrid was stalking behind them now and, though he didn't have the same sort of predatory form that the colt did, he still let off an aura of crazy dangerous. Ira was unconcerned to have the hybrid at his back, but he had already proven he could beat up his youngest sibling.
"Where were the screams, Sese?"
"Don't call me that!" the yellow mix hissed angrily, before continuing on in a huff. "I think they were up there to the left."
"O-kay! You heard the man, Guardsman Daegie!" The colt seemed to have forgotten the injunction to use the mouse's full name. "Onwards you go, huh?"

Onward he go, hm? Well, it didn't exactly appear that the mouse - who had quite clearly heard the mangling of his name again, but had given it up as a lost cause, as he seemed to be doing a lot around these two - had much of a choice as to whether or not he really wanted to proceed toward the source of the alleged screams. Note: His own personal preference tended toward the "not" of the two options, though if he'd been acting as a Guardsman and heard the screams, he'd have gone anyway. There was just something about being practically stalked by a pair of very strange children while it happened that caused his fur to ruffle up a bit and make him a little bit more...reluctant to oblige. Not that he allowed that reluctance to show (at least, as best he could). There was no need to antagonize Ira any more.
As they approached where the alleged screams had come from, Daegmund shut down the part of his mind that was whimpering about, "Oh god, oh god, what are you doing, why are you doing this, they're insane, oh god," and focused on his job. He was a part of the Palace Guard, and that meant protecting all of those around him. His scurry - and it was a scurry, because mice can't really do much more than that for high speeds - slowed down into a more deliberate stalk, and he unconciously proved that he too could achieve some sort of predatory walk. His, however, was the result of years and years of combat training instead of something innate in his personality. Large ears were flicking around like a pair of radar dishes to take in all the sound that they could find and pinpoint it everywhere.
"Around this corner?" he murmured quietly in question, ready to move when it was confirmed.

Ira had grown silent, a slight frown on his face with his ears tilted forward. Perhaps he was following Daegmund's progress or perhaps he was listening for something else entirely. His frown deepened for a moment, then the mouse broke his concentration-- albeit unknowingly-- and the colt answered almost cheerily, "Yepp. Just pop on around and let us know if there are any dead people."
Se stopped beside his brother, sitting down on yellow hindquarters and definitely looking very bored. He still didn't really seem to care one way or another about the whole situation, even though they were potentially near its conclusion.
Going around this corner, however, would only bring Daegmund to empty study. Furniture was, however, knocked askew and it appeared that there had been a rather violent scuffle. The two boys trotted up behind the mouse, surveying the room silently. After a long moment, Ira made a thoughtful sound deep in his throat and turned and walked back out.

"As you say," he murmured back, "popping" around the corner as Ira told him to do. Alright, it was more a quick dart around the corner, low to the ground in order to keep out of any particularly paranoid assailant's line of fire, should they have a ranged weapon. He stilled when it became apparent that there was nothing in the room right then, other than a rather large mess, and his muscles relaxed. Well, they relaxed a little bit, because he doubted he'd be able to relax at all until this whole thing was behind him and he could go to his little bed in the barracks and sleep. Maybe he'd even be able to convince himself that this was all a strange dream.
"No dead bodies here," he retorted, his tone almost wry (for him, anyway). Daegmund watched the two look everything over, and then Ira was off once more, and he could think of nothing more to do than sigh and follow after the equine.

"More's the pity," Se answered the mouse's words with a smirking grin, before pushing up and striding casually after the other two males. He walked very nearly on Daegmund's heels, invading the Guard's space terribly, though he didn't seem to be overly aware that he was doing so. Perhaps he wasn't, or perhaps it was done very much on purpose.
No matter wot Se was doing, Ira was definitely off in his own world; for now he completely ignored the other two, hooves tapping lightly on the floor in an almost thoughtless manner, though his gaze was focused down the hall. His face was unreadable and he led them onward without a word.
Suddenly, the atmosphere in the hallway seemed to change, though it might be a bit difficult to pinpoint wot the difference was at first. However, the sound of 6 hooves tripping down the hall suddenly switched to two, and that pair was behind the mouse. Ira's posture changed as well, his body beginning to slink a bit more as though he were blending in to the very tile of the floor.

At Se's very close presence on his heels, Daegmund did nothing more than twitch his tail out of the way, so that there wouldn't be any feet of any type walking over it - he'd had it stepped on a time or two, and it was always a painful experience, and one that he would rather avoid if it were at all possible. Especially here in Court, for it wasn't like the nobles ever cared if they happened to injure a random Guard - and a Six, at that. For that matter, he had the feeling that the pair of Jacks that were "accompanying" him might actually derive some sort of amusement out of a stepped-upon tail.
At the sudden lack of noise from Ira, his ears flicked forward inquisatively; that had to mean something was up, though if at least one of the pair was being stealthy, it was probably best not to try and make too much noise himself. Thus, no questions (at least not right now), and he shifted his own footsteps to keep his claws from tapping against the floor, tail lifted slightly so it didn't drag.

Of the three of them, it was evidently only Se who didn't care a lick if he was still heard. His hind hooves still clicked along and his forepaws continued to come perilously near Daegmund as they continued on their way.
Ira's ears came forward and he stopped suddenly, tail twitching suddenly in what could be agiation or a need to rid his sides of insects. Nothing would buzz away from those teal flanks, however, leaving one to only guess that something up ahead was bothering the young stallion.
"Daegie-poo," the colt said suddenly and seriously. "Do you hear something up ahead?"
There was the sound of something in a room up ahead, that sounded very much like a scuffle. Voices murmured, one of them rising suddenly. There was the distinct sound of flesh hitting flesh.
Ira waited expectantly for the Guardsman to step up and tell them about this new incident.

Daegmund just kept his tail up and out of the way of possibly-careless paws - or deliberately-careless paws, who knew? He didn't know if he really had to be so quiet and stealthy, but it was better to be safe than to be sorry with this pair, he figured. Well, with anyone, but these two had a bearing on his current situation. At Ira's direction (and Suits, the nicknames were getting worse, and they'd probably degenerate further before this was over), he listened up ahead of them.
"Sounds like some sort of altercation," he murmured, flicking his ears into the best position to catch as much noise as possible from the room ahead. "I don't believe I recognize any of the voices, though. Of course, that's not saying much." There were a lot of people in the Court that he didn't recognize, if only because he spent most of his time with the other Guards.

Ira's ears wiggled again and he stared at Daegmund for a very long, very silent minute, as though contemplating things the mouse would almost certainly not want him to be contemplating. A few moments later he opened his mouth and nearly said something. His ears flipped sideways and then he eyed the mouse and closed his mouth again.
Se gave an annoyed sigh and flicked his tail. "They're having sex." The words were pointed out bluntly and without any real emotion besides extreme boredom.
"Oh!" Ira announced cheerily and began trotting on down the hallway, pausing only to kick out at the offending door once. Se immediately scooted his butt on just a trifle faster as silence greeted the 'knock' on the door. The brothers made certain they were around the corner before either of the room's occupants could come check and see who was bothering their moment of intimacy.
