A few hours later Mia was feeling remarkably calm, if quite drained. He was feeling a bit woozy, actually - only god knew when he'd last eaten, and the state Rose and Chris had found him in testified to how much sleep he'd had the past few nights. The ferret hadn't really sorted out any of his thoughts - he still didn't believe Rose, but had nothing else to go on so had no other theories.
He was feeling better though, so began the process of going back to his rooms. Too bad he was on the opposite wing..
He didn't see Rose in time to move.
One moment he was leaning against a wall, the next he was being slammed into the wall, and then he was being suffocated under a mound of fluff and muscle. His backside hurt like hell, but he had to wonder if the glass spikes had pierced her skin..

It was a really dumb idea. She should have thought before she leaped. Slamming into him hurt. The glass pierced her skin, as she fell in a heap on top of Mia, which didn't help.
The pain was enough for her to pick herself up and jump off.
Her white fur was stained with red pricks of blood. "OW," she said as she put a paw over a rather large poke. At least it wasn't anything vital. "OW! Crap! I think I need to see a doctor."
She said as she watched the blood. "Ergh, sorry." She muttered to Mia as she balanced on her back legs to try, at least, to stop the bleeding. She shouldn't have left her book in Mia's room. Maybe she needed to get a belt or sack or something so she could carry the thing around with her.
Something snickered in the back of her head.
She mentally flipped him off.

Mia was content to let her do whatever she want, dazed as she was - though her weight off of him was a relief. It generally wasn't a good idea to slam into a skinny person, especially when said skinny person is usually only topped by other skinny people. It just wasn't something he was used to. Ever.
Once blood resumed it's normal route to his brain, he looked up at her and was half-chagrined and half-amused to see she was bleeding. A glance down at his spirals confirmed it was his fault, though he was not taking responsibility for it. "I would.. yeah. Come on." He hauled himself to his feet, wobbled for a moment, then began leading her off in the direction of the infirmary.
"If it makes you feel better, you're not the only one to have done that so far. Next time you see Chris, look at his chest.. I don't think it's fully healed yet."

Rosemary blushed slightly at her stupidity before listening to Mia. Oh, so Christopher had done something that stupid too? That certainly made her feel better. "Okay," she said holding back a slight snicker at the Christopher flailing because he cut himself during sex.
As they travel to the infirmary she mused at her stupidity, her weapon cracking up the entire time. "I need to show you something after this. I brought a book with me that I want you to look at."
It had been a gift from her father. She had been completely and utterly ecstatic by it, and wanted to share with someone. Mia had been the first person to pop into her head, and now that he had "calmed down" it might be a good time to share. And he was interested in history!
Little did she know that the book would be blank to any person other than her.

Mia just smiled. It had certainly taught Chris a lesson about tackling him in anger, even if not everyone else had figured it out yet. He almost wished they were retractable, like his spikes - that way he could plan when someone would get glass through their gut. Alas, accident would have to do.
"A book?" He repeated, an eyebrow raised. "Been raiding someone else's library?" Suits knew she'd zoomed through Spades like a tornado - she'd gotten to sections he hadn't even known existed. Why did they need an entire section on the White Rabbit, anyways? Myths were interesting, but not exactly necessary. But whatever, he wasn't as much of a bibliophile as Rosemary or Christopher.
"What's it about? Anything I've heard of, by chance?" He asked with a snicker.

"For once, no. Though I still have yet to raid the Diamond and Hearts Libraries. I have to do that sometime.... but I don't know any Diamonds." Her tail twitched at the thought. She needed to make a lot more friends, didn't she? That was something she had to plot out soon.
"But my Dad managed to get it for me in Tulgey. I don't know how he managed to snag something that amazing but... it's the diary of the Queen of Diamonds from the War of the Second Wall!" She went to skip, and realized that she was still bleeding. "BITCH!" she shouted as she stumbled to stop the bleeding again.
You really should look before you leap.
"It's not funny," Rosemary said with a whimper.
Oh yes, yes it is. I'm sure Mia thinks the same!
It never really occurred to the canine that responding to her sword out loud was probably less than but she did it anyway.
"Just stop me before I do something stupid again," Rosemary muttered again as she pulled her paw away to look at the blood.
I'll try. I make no promises.

At the mention of Diamonds, Mia's expression soured for a moment. He had nothing against the suit itself, but hell if he was going to admit to any personal connection to any of them. "Good luck finding one. For some strange reason I've only seen Spades around here.. weird, innit?" He replied, completely deadpan, his gaze innocently at the walls around them.
At her explanation though, he looked over at her, completely astonished. "What?! How on earth did he get THAT?" Then he couldn't help himself and laughed as she jumped. "Idiot, we're almost there, stop breaking it open." Then he paused, an eyebrow raised, "Rose, do you talk to yourself often?"
Almost immediately after he lead her into the room, where a much-aggrieved nurse grabbed her and practically tied her down to a bed to begin bandaging her up.

She rolled her eyes at Mia's comment about only finding Spades. He thought he was so very clever didn't he?
Rosemary looked over at Mia with a slight blush forming under her fur. "Er... yes? I don't know. I've been doing it a lot more recently. It might be because of stress." She shrugged.
And then she found herself being pulled and checked at and practically tied down. She really hated doctors. They weren't fun. They were all stuffed shirts and annoying as snot. The wolf stuck her tongue out as far as possible at the nurse.
Ha. Take that.
Yes because acting like your four is real payback. You could just tell Mia the truth.
Rosemary rolled her eyes. Mia wouldn't believe her. Why would he? It was impossible for a Club to have a summonable weapon. Only hearts got that. Except for her and her sister, but that was just an accident.

Mia just looked at her oddly. "Rose. You're stressed? Right. Try being me for a day. Is something wrong?" He did his best to be mildly sympathetic, but she just looked like she was lying, so it made it difficult. Especially since after the incident they had a few hours earlier, he had a hard time believing she thought she was stressed. He still wanted to go lock himself up somewhere and sleep..
The ferret just grinned when she got tied down. "Nurse, I think you might have to sedate her.. the cuts looked pretty painful when they happened." He said innocently, just to get her back for caging him into his bedroom. There was no sweeter revenge than forcing someone to submit to medical attention - complete with ropes, ties, chains, bandages.. and good ol' sedation.

"I effed my sister over pretty bad by giving her the wrong information. I was just informed that my other sister is joining the court of Clubs, my jackass of a brother refuses to leave home because he's a whiney brat and my other brother has the social skills of a rock and wants ME to help him with his various experiments because I'm a daredevil." Rosemary paused. "And I came to congratulate you only to find that you're depressed as--"
She paused to look at the nurse who was brandishing a needle. "Stick that in me woman and I will make your life a living nightmare. Just bandage or sew the wounds up without a sedative."
She smiled.
Rosemary hated pain but she hated drugs even more. There was no way she was going to let someone shoot her up with something. Her tail curled at the end as she glared at the woman.
