"My daddy is Eilwyn," She offered up with a small chirp. "He is related to the Queen of Diamonds. He comes by and visits every now and then too" She added with a nod.
Glancing towards the thing that seemed to be following her uncle around she titled her head to the side in consideration "Who is that?" She asked him before a spark of interest lit her eyes. "Do you think it has a soul?" She added, bending forward so that she could get a better look at it.
It seemed to be made of bones so it seemed likely that it would have a soul . . . right?
Suddenly recalling something that she was suppose to ask her Uncle Zeev she hopped up and turned to him. "Mamma said I have to ask you. Can I stay the night here? Please, please?"
The wolf was content to let the two of them get to know each other though he was hoping to usher them inside soon enough. Standing outside of Iphis' apartment was sure to gather some curious stares from the neighbors. Then again, considering Iphis he was pretty sure the neighbors had gotten used to the strangeness of it all.
"As long as Iphis says that it is alright you can stay." He was pretty sure that his mate would have already given her permission should Khloris have asked. A happy squeal and clapping from Khloris confirmed it.

Vic couldn't remember having heard of an Eilwyn before, but he knew that the Queen of Diamonds was some bird named Theofilus. And the Queen of Spades was a. . . ferret or something. Donnie. He remembered the names a bit better than the rest of their information.
At Khloris' question, Vic turned to look at the heron skeleton that dutifully turned to look up at him with glowing eyes. He frowned. "Uhm. I don't know. She was in pieces when I found her."
The horse's ears pricked forward was he eavesdropped shamelessly on the two Cards' conversation. So Khloris was staying over as well? That was interesting. He wasn't yet sure if he was pleased or annoyed by her invasion, especially since this was his first night here. Perhaps it'd make it easier for him to know how to act around Iphis. If he remembered correctly, he was related to Iphis through Papa. He was silent, trying to imagine what this Card would look like. Probably rugged, like Papa. Vic brightened; he wouldn't mind meeting someone else like Papa.

"Come on Vicious!" Khloris chipped up happily before rushing back towards the apartment and holding the door open for them to enter, Zeev taking it from her and entering last.
"Uncle Iphis and I cleaned up before he left. He went to the Heart Court to go make a few dresses for Aunt Dre." She announced aloud, adding the last in a lower tone of explanation to Vicious. She had offered it to help explaining to them both why the apartment was a little cleaner than it usually and there were less stacks of clothing and ribbons and other dressmaking items scattered around. Not that there were not any, just a few less.
Zeev was indeed impressed with how much of the apartment was cleared. Usually, no matter how hard he tried to keep it clean, there seemed to only be a trail from one side of the room to the other. Now there was a little wider of a path than normal. He could not help but wonder how long it would last.
Walking over to the kitchen she paused in the doorway. "Either of you want tea or something to drink?" She really liked acting hostess whenever she was at Iphis and Zeev's house.

Vic hesitated in the doorway, immediately leery of what he saw. It wasn't the mess-- though there was a great deal more pink and lace than he would have expected, but, then again, Khloris was a girl and if his half-brother was making dresses for his. . . whatever Dre was to him-- he was fairly certain they were related, but he couldn't remember how-- then that would explain the girly stuff that was littering the place. No, he was less concerned about the mess and more concerned about a vague memory he had of when he was younger and had walked too closely to the drapes.
Because of his flames, it hadn't burned him, but the fire had gotten rather nasty before the servants successfully put it out. "Julia, follow Khloris," he ordered his pet and the skeleton wandered into the kitchen before Vic carefully stepped into the apartment. He walked in, ducking away from some lace hanging off a bookcase and that's when the first tendril captured a bit of cloth that was laying on a shelf somewhere behind him. Vic didn't even notice, though hopefully Zeev would from his vantage behind the boy.

"I will take some, Khloris" the wolf replied willing to appease the girl.
Khloris nodded her head before dashing inside to start the water. Not really phased by the lack of request from Vicious she decided that he needed a nice cup of tea too.
Filling the tea pot with water she started the stove and set the water to boil.
Zeev was starting to make his way towards the couch when he saw what was happening over by the bookshelf where Vicious was passing. Leaping over he quickly grabbed a hold of the piece of fabric and throwing to the floor proceeded to trample out the fire.
Wrinkling his nose at the smell of burnt fur, he looked towards Vicious to make sure that the lad was still okay.
Perhaps . . . it would be best for all of them if he cleaned up around the apartment a little more.

Vic used a word he wasn't supposed to know yet when Zeev leapt towards him, and he knocked over some other cloth, though, thankfully, this was with his back spikes. He snagged something delicate, and he thought he heard cloth ripping. He muttered something unhappy under his breath and froze, turning his head to try and look over his shoulder and see what exactly he had caught.
He couldn't tell what it was; something with lots of flowers on it. Suddenly he had a strange mental image of his Papa in a dress made out of that cloth. He blinked, baffled by that and shook his head violently to banish the image. He looked back towards Zeev to see that there was a fire that had now been put out and that the wolf was regarding him carefully.
"I'm stuck," he explained now, though he wasn't hurt in any way.

Thankful that nothing worse had happened, he made his way over to the boy. "Here, let me unhook you." Leaning forward, very cautiously, he worked the material away from the boy's spike.
Finally getting it loose after a brief struggle, he shook it out before folding it. The tear was not too bad, at least, he was pretty sure it was something that Iphis would be able to fix no problem.
"How about you go into the kitchen with Khloris? I believe there should be cookies in there still that Iphis made yesterday. Help yourselves to them. I am going to . . . uh, clean up in here some."
Hearing the commotion going on in the living room she poked her head her back in. "Is everything okay?" Hearing Zeev's comment she gave a happy squeak. "Okay! Come on, Vicious! Iphis' cookies are the best!"

The skeleton bird continued to passively follow the Corvie, and Vic shooed her back towards the kitchen absently. Julia did as she was bid even as Vicious carefully kept picking his way across the room. He sent Khloris a quick, sharp glance.
"Just Vic, okay?" He hated being referred to with his full name; he wasn't vicious and it wasn't fair to be judged by that just because his parents had been in a bad mood when he was born.
Though, he was fairly certain Daddy Ader had gone along with it out of a warped sense of humour.
Nevertheless, Vic was still just young enough to be easily swayed by cookies. The Card suddenly realized rugged, manly men like Papa Rai probably didn't bake cookies and he certainly didn't sew pretty dresses for Aunt-- or wotever she was-- Dre. So. . . Uncle(ish) Iphis baked cookies. Maybe he wasn't exactly what Vic had initially expected.

Watching them long enough to ascertain that everything was being handled okay with them, he found that he was grateful Khloris was hanging out at the apartment today. The company for Vicious would certainly make handling some of this easier. Children were something of a foreign entity for him.
Shaking his head at all of it, he went about picking up the various fabrics and goodness knew what else all this stuff was that was laying around. Some days the piles made him consider if it would be safer if they got a slightly larger place to live in.
"Just Vic, got it" She replied, easily taking to the task. She had never really been one to have a nickname of any sort, but her brother had always been a stickler about his siblings using his.
Getting down two plates from where Uncle Iphis kept them she brought them over to the table before going back for the cookie jar.

Vicious hovered in the kitchen, uncertain of where to go exactly until Khloris put the plates down at the table. He moved closer to it almost thoughtfully. It hadn't occurred to him to offer his help in any of these serving 'chores', though it wasn't based solely in the fact that they had plenty of servants at the Court of Clubs. The majority of this reticence was made up of the fact that he did, just as in the living room, have a tendency to either set things alight or to stab, run through, rip, or otherwise ruin items around him.
So the horse watched as Khloris bustled around the kitchen and made certain to keep Julia near him so the skeleton wouldn't be underfoot. He was glad that Khloris was ranked higher than Seven, so she wasn't afraid of his 'pet'. "How long will. . . Uncle Iphis be gone?" He hesitated over the word choice, but let it be for his own curiousity's sake.
