As was his way on his days off from the Court of Hearts and babysitting either his brother or his Mommy dearest, Ira was people watching at the park sitting at the edge of the Capital and along the Bazaar. He greatly enjoyed watching people, especially after he'd eaten a light snack. That was the best time because he could savor the look and scent of the food without feeling like he absolutely had to eat something right then. Today, however, was just right and the young King settled himself further into his little grassy hidey spot beneath a tree. The crowds weren't too terribly thick just then, they were happily strong enough that he could remain occupied contemplating one tidbit than the other, but not too thick that he couldn't see what he wanted to. His long, green tail flicked idly and his ears came up thoughtfully to regard a young woman moving easily down the street. Very interesting.

Sweet suits, Saethre wanted babies. She wasn't willing to wait much longer, either.. though how she was going to simply stop waiting, she wasn't sure, but if she tried hard enough she was sure she'd figure it out.
Or something.
She was currently flopping around in the park, in lack of anything better to do. There were no kids to babysit, no hairy men to bother--especially because it was still daylight, and therefore no one was hope. After five minutes of simply walking around, she found a bench and flopped over on it backwards and began scanning the crowds.
Fat highlander, rejected. Superskinny hisstor, rejected even more. Hot green horse thing? Oooh. .. What was he?
Saethre slithered off the bench with a wriggle of her body and blinked at him--hey, he was even watching her! Even better. She sped over to him and kept going until her muzzle was a few scant inches from his, still staring, then grinned. "What's up?"

It was interesting and amusing to be approached; this was actually a very rare occurrence. Most Cards seemed to realize it might be unwise to approach the young stallion who watched with hungry eyes and occasionally licked his lips. Still, he was pleasantly surprised and as she slipped right up into his face the horse tilted his head slightly to one side, staring back with pale, lavender eyes.
"The tree, actually. And the sky." His answers were light-hearted and easy. "Though we could simply be imagining them as well as each other. Do I meet with your mind's specifications?"
Despite his manner and tone, it was unlikely he was actually joking. He was not in the least put off by her stepping directly into his 'bubble' of space; in fact, he seemed entirely unaffected by it, though that wasn't the most 'normal' reaction even if it was a pretty girl doing the infringing.

Saethre nodded congenially at his first answer. "I'm not sure that the tree qualifies as up, but I definitely agree on the sky count. There are some clouds you forgot, though." Her tone was slightly more serious than he--she took literal things far too literally. "As for my specifications, you have met two of three, but we're working on that. And what about me?" She asked curiously with an innocent blink.
Qualification one - hot. Qualification two - preeeetty colors. Greenblueyyellowish definitely fit. Qualification three - not a complete and total asshole. (Yet to be determined. For all she knew he could be happy and daisy nice.)
She sat staring at him for a moment before asking curiously, "What's your name?" Sae wanted to quiz him on what realms he was, since she was too lazy to actually try to figure it out, but figured she might as well wait until he answered the question first.

"I haven't decided if I believe in clouds," the young man said quietly. Perhaps he was being entirely serious, or maybe he was mocking her. Or simply amusing himself. He blinked at her-- nothing more than that, it wasn't particularly thoughtful, nor meaningful. He simply blinked and nothing more.
"You far exceed my expectations," he answered easily. That, of course, couldn't be hard. He simply wanted people to be alive. He didn't eat dead things; he wasn't a scavenger. If pressed, he would stick 'not related to me' to his list.
Because, of course, he wasn't allowed to eat family. So he simply swished his tail and stared at her again for a moment.
"My name is Iraishin, though I'm often called Ira," he said lightly. "Who are you?" He tended to be fairly good at remembering names.

"Perhaps I don't believe in trees." She stated, then shrugged. "If neither exist, we have a pretty screwed up ecosystem, but I suppose that's beside the point." The otter grinned again.
At his words, the grin only increased. "Wonderful. We're suited, then. Walk with me, my dear." She commanded airly, and immediately sauntered off, fully expecting him to follow her. Saethre was a fidgity otter--sitting in one place for too long just wasn't her cup of tea.
"Ira. I like it. Same number of letters," She said vaguely, already contemplating if she could get at least one decent name from combining "Iraishin" and "Saethre". Irathre? Ew. Saeshin? Worse. Raire? Sounded like a steak. Perhaps she'd just make up new names.. Wait! He'd asked her a question. Crap, what was it?
NAME. Right. "Saethre. Call me Sae, but not Re."

The green tail danced around again, brushing through like-coloured grass. She rose and wandered off, calling him to follow and he did as she bid. He had no reason to do so and no reason to not do so, so he simply trotted after her, listening as she prattled on about something he assumed had to do with names.
Saethre. Very interesting. Her comment about the letters would now make sense, but he didn't bother to think about it. He didn't necessarily care about the similarity or not between their names. They were, after all, just names and that was that.
"Hello, Sae not Re" he answered her introduction lightly and with something that might be politeness. Sometimes introductions were little more than a game to him. Today, however, his mind was already elsewhere as he tilted up his ears and watched their passing surroundings with interest.

Saethre happily plodded along, unsure of where they were going but figuring they'd get somewhere eventually if she stopped paying attention for a little bit. That tended to happen: she lost track of time and bam! There was a cafe. Or bam! A bar! Mm, alcohol. Thinking about alcohol made her want to go to Helena's house, but that probably wouldn't be a good place to bring her newfound Ira.
"So where do you live? Anyplace interesting?" She asked, mostly to have something to say. Someone as interesting as he clearly had to have an interesting life, so therefore Sae wanted to know. "Oh, and do you have a couch? And.. food? Possible entertainment?" The otter questioned further with a curious glance.
She wasn't intending on stealing his couch, raiding his pantry and otherwise invading his home.
Nope.
Not at all.

He seemed to think about that for a very long moment. In fact, they very easily paced along two blocks before it seemed to occur tot he equine to reply. "Oh, here and there." It could be seen as a dodge, though anyone who really knew him would likely realize that it wasn't a purposeful thing. At least, it probably wasn't.
He continued to trot on without concern or another word about his place of residence. If he'd known her plans, however, he might have picked a home to bring her to. Eir, he knew, was stuck at home today; a leg injury had him confined to their mother's residence. Ira knew better than to bring home new friends for his rather crazy sibling to get access to. Oh, no; his control over that particular brother was a strange thing indeed.
So, instead, his mind was on how the baker smelled particularly like muffins today, and though he himself had no real love for that particular bread, it might be nice to try it when it was flavouring a man.

Saethre didn't particularly notice when he didn't reply right away--both of them, apparently, were highly oblivious people. "Oh. Cool beans. I do that sometimes," The otter said, sadly just as vaguely, then shrugged. Sae mostly either crashed at her mother's apartment, Seth's house, or other friend's house, but she'd been known to trek to the Court of Spades if she was bored, or even her brother's homes.. or sometimes the park. The park had very comfortable grass, and a fountain. Water!
After about five minutes of aimless wandering they were no longer in the park, but were in the midst of the bustling city streets. The otter peered around for something interesting and bam! Her mother's apartment! How'd they get here so fast? Nevermind. Her mother was in the Courts today, so chances are no one else was in there at the moment. Mommy Vessie tended to spazz, something about making a massive mess, but how much of a mess could an otter and a horse-thing make? Geez.
"In we go! Mommy won't care," She stated loftily. "Especially if I don't tell her!" The otter cheerfully grinned, then led him into the building, up a series of stairs and into a medium-sized apartment. "Make yourself at home, assuming you can find anything to sit on." She then traipsed into the kitchen, presumably to find something to drink.
