Well, that's if adventure is what Hikari longs for. XD Some people are very passionate about domestic things.
I don't know about her considering her family to be 'baggage', though. Depends on the sibling, I guess. Nothing wrong with a little company and back-up for an adventure, eh?

It seems like if the species has been at constant war, they first children born in a time of peace would still hold many of the same ideals as the previous generations. Since the Xenica have been fighting a rival species, it seems more likely that the families would form close units-- whether it be with siblings, as the previous write-ups have inferred-- or with 'battle groups'-- for lack of a better term. i think, therefore, that siblings wouldn't actually be seen as baggage. ^^
It also seems that one would be inundated with the understanding that you don't go off places alone except rarely, because who knows when a Cidhish or three will be lurking around a corner. Those aren't the kinds of fears that you easily lay to rest. The first peace generation would likely still be taught the same level of care and watchfulness as others, especially if their parents have ever actually been in battle.
Based on that, i think Hikari would at least look for a traveling companion, be it sibling or otherwise. <3 i also think that even a passionate/restless being would know that some training would behoove them greatly before setting out into the world, unless they would most definitely only be in a 'safe' zone, which i don't really see a Fire-type being content in doing. xD
So says sera, for wotever it's worth. xD;

The sera makes excellent points. I applaud the logic. <3
It seems reasonable, with the cultural background of the war, that Hikari would venture forth with at least one of her siblings, either her favorite who had discussed the possible action with her or the one whose destination was the same as hers.
I agree with you now that she would probably pursue some sort of training, whether or not she personally felt it necessary. I'm not certain how 'into things' she would be, how rebellious or obedient or otherwise definable she might be to her instructors/superiors/sister. I suppose the odd mesh of bear and fire elemental would tell.

Sera brings up excellent points. <333 I will tell you now that only one of your siblings, the pink-eyed one, is the only one to have gained a mutation like yours, that gives a natural weapon of sorts.
Another option that I forgot to mention, of course, would be to spend some more time in your homeland. Not necessarily in the areas you know like the back of your hand, but exploring the outskirts. There's a possibility of finding new orbs or other items, should you explore well, and as your father is of the Fire element, he may be able to teach you a basic spell or two.
<333 You guys are amazing.

It might be possible to do a bit of that exploration first, if only to get used to having natural weapons at all, and how to use them. If something is discovered during that time, then so much the better.
Other than that, I applaud Sera's choice as well!

Oh wow. This has been active while I was at work. XD Um...I think Sera brings up excellent points. And I think even a bear fire elemental would first have a passion to test their skills before trouncing off to have adventures. So yeah, Hikari should train with her older sister for a bit, but perhaps as you say she will lost patience with it and run off at some point down the line. XP
Though...maybe she could convince her father to teach her a fire spell before she goes. Hmm. That sounds useful. Teeth and magic? The journey is gonna be fun.

XD When she starts getting impatient, she should start skipping class to run around the forest level buffing and item hunting. Like any good adventurer would!

Actually, hanging around and trying to learn a thing or two from dear old Dad might be the best first step; there's nothing stopping Hikari from going off to train/school later, especially since Dad can teach her some very useful things before heading off into the big world. Also, since /he's/ Fire, he'll know best when to push her or when to let up, ne?
Maybe some of her other siblings will still be hanging around and she can see if she can handle any of their personalities on a long-term basis. hehe

I wonder whether or not Hikari would regard sticking around and being taught by Dad as less important than either making her way or going to be taught by her sister. Because I mean, let's face it, she's not much older than an adolescent... and what 14-year-old girl wants to spend huge amounts of time learning from her parents?
Spending time with them, sure, for weirdos like me. But at that age, being taught by them feels like lecturing, and being lectured as a teenager (when you know everything, of course) brings about rebellion. She might get more out of training from her older sister than her Dad, however awesome he may be.

lol Also true. i guess it depends on family dynamics. xD i know that i would love to sit and learn stuff from my Far-- whether or not i'm being annoyed by him, ^.~ -- but it's also true that Hikari is younger and might very well be heading into a rebellious stage.
It also depends on her personality. xD One of my sister's "rebellious stage" was to tell our dad that she was going to ground herself, if that was okay with him. *amused* My rebellious stage involved getting a second hole put in my ears. xD;;;; So. . . yar. xD; Family dynamics + personality should tell all.
It seems like she's had a good family life, and that the family is pretty close. *shrugs* ^^ That could just be me.
