So in ways of celebration, her choice definately ran high-feminine. Sekhmet had already snuck out early in the morning to get the dress expertly tailored to fit her curvaceous body, the colours all very obviously Highland colours. The crimson of the main dress parts made up for the lack of similarily hued fur gracing her body, replaced with skin that was so recently aquired, one might use something like 'it still has the new car scent'. No sleeves meant that it looked regal and casual at the same time, it also meant that for once her chest was only visible in shape and not detail. More suitable she assumed for whatever King duties she would be given this day. Idly she wondered if she should have told the Queen how close she was to obtaining this form earlier, at least it might be a pleasant surprise? He'd sent for her with word that he would be in his study, which could only mean her day was to become a lot more busy. Her naturally tousled looking hair took away from the formality of the rest of her dress, but that didn't matter that much. She knocked on the door steadily, one knock and then another before pausing. "Your majesty, it's Sekhmet, may I come in?" When he summoned her inside, she tried her best not to stand awkwardly, although she was suddenly wondering if she was a little overdressed, or underdressed? Oh hell, she'd seen so many different types of dress in the courts she didn't know what to expect. "Good afternoon, your majesty." She bowed and waited for him to direct her further, whether it be to a chair or straight into the thick of things. She was excited to get started, but still so very worn out after her quest.

The man was surrounded by a number of people, all males, and all activity stopped when the woman stepped through the door. There was a long moment of silence as her presence-- including her looks-- was absorbed. Finally, Rai cleared his throat and said, softly, "Good morning, your Highness. Gentleman, meet my King, Sekhmet."The hush seemed to grow louder as Rai gestured towards a number of chairs set off in the corner. "Be seated, your Highness. I will be with you in a moment."The men would watch her walk away, but Rai drew their attention pointedly back to the papers on his desk. They didn't have much more to discuss; at this point it was simply a matter of sending them on their way to their separate appointments. They filed past the King as they exited, all glancing at her before they left, though not all of them open about it. She seemed to be quite the hit.

Oh. Nads. The room was filled with men, and all of them seeming particularily shocked, and/or pleased by her Kinglyness being a woman. Hmmm, this could be a good thing, though it did make her feel slightly uncomfortable. It was hard to ignore her flirtacious ways when surrounded by men who were all probably trying to use x-ray vision on her disturbingly expensive dress. Hahahaha, suckers.
"Good afternoon." She said politely to the group, luckily for her, it seemed they were just finishing. Ah the joys of being just a few minutes early. Better even, than being on time.
"Thank you, your majesty." Doing as instructed, she waited for the men to file past her, smiling now and again and trying not to laugh or grin outright. Just polite aknowledgement of their polite glances. When they were gone, she moved immediately to the seat Rai had instructed and sat, smoothing her skirts in paranoia. The material felt so very fine, as if it would rip on air were she not careful. Not the most practical of choices, but she always had casual, backup clothes.
When everything was still and quiet, she considered coming out and starting up a conversation about her new form, but as usual, decided it was best to wait for him to speak first. She'd gotten eerily into the habit of 'do not speak unless spoken to', probably because she was still working out the kinks of this being a King thing. No need to offend your employer on the first day, how sad that would be.

The stallion was watching her thoughtfully, grey-green eyes cool and for a long moment it might almost seem like he was regretting his decision. "Well," his voice broke the silence. "That went better than I expected."
A lot better, really. And how convenient that Sekhmet was dressed so... *ahem* daringly. Not that he would have chosen that sort of thing for his first day of work, but, then again, he wasn't a woman. The woman took the men's stares with aplomb and at least that part of their new... relationship was over.
"Come sit over here," the equine said. "We have a few things to discuss." He waited for her to come over, then leaned his elbows on the desk and steepled his fingers. "I trust your rooms meet your approval?" It was a question, but tone suggested he expected them to. Nevertheless, if something were wrong and she didn't say, would he be upset or not care?

Better than he expected? Hmmm, well, hopefully her sudden intrusion had helped that, though she doubted it. The men all seemed eerily similar when she entered the room, tomb-faced, and she could only imagine the things they had all been discussing. But she'd have to get used to such... unappealing conversations. Boring, even. Talking was something she was good at though, getting people to like her was another fine skill.
When he asked her to move closer, she did so without hesitation. The space between them before had seemed awkward, she certainly didn't have the plague. She moved without word, only a brief smile to demonstrate her true enthusiasm at actually being there. And there was enthusiasm, despite all concerns of dreary business to come. She honestly wouldn't want to be anywhere else right at the moment.
"Of course, your majesty. I must admit, getting used to such finery has been most... enjoyable." She admitted with another smile, it had been oh so very nice to relax in those plush silken soft sheets, and to lounge in that beautifully sloped bathing tub. She'd spent the last 18 or so hours pampering herself quite thoroughly. His looks told her that perhaps she should have saved the dress for more formal occasions, but these were all learning curves. At least he hadn't outright said anything about it, which meant it probably wasn't that big of a deal.

A brief smile touched Shinrai's face before slipping away again beneath a mask of seriousness. He really was pleased that Sekhmet liked her room, and that she felt comfortable enough in the palace to dress as she desired to. Unless this was supposed to be some sort of ploy... But the stallion couldn't worry about that now. He'd made his choice to trust her and could not afford to second-guess himself now.
"As I told you last night," the stallion said quietly. "You're in a much different position from your peers in the Court." As if that wasn't obvious. Knowing the woman's history, Rai already knew that they were in for a bumpy ride; he simply hoped they could weather it well. In another form, his ears would have flicked back, but, for now, he simply pushed on. "Your job is not to be a strong arm."

The brief smile allowed the doe to know that his stoic seriousness was just the Queenly attitude and not some displeasure at her taking liberties with her dressing style. She didn't honestly know why that concerned her, but it did somehow. Good impressions and all that. She realized suddenly that she was Shinrai's first and only King, at least he was as new to this as she was, and although the thought made her feel immensely more comfortable, it didn't mean she would try any less hard to do well.
She waited until the handsome man had finished speaking entirely before considering that. Well, to be fair, Serafino and Pravus were most certainly the strong arms, so it made sense that she wouldn't play such a role. She had full intentions of staying under the radar and away from them. Would she have to tell Shinrai about everything someday? Probably. "That makes sense. What will my role be, then, your majesty?" She inquired curiously, knowing he would get to it eventually, but she wanted to prove she way paying attention, although to not be paying attention one would have to have some sort of A.D.D.
Still she sensed some sort of reluctance in the Queen that sat before her, and she felt that it might be attributed to her rough entry into the courts. She'd been tossed onto her ass by everything that had happened to her, and considering her history prior to that, she had not taken it well. But that was something only one man knew, and he had helped in his own way. She didn't blame Shinrai for being so nervous, which was why she had to make sure every detail to her actions pleased him. Sekhmet didn't know that she already had made good progress, as the mysteriousness that was Shinrai didn't seem to commonly let on to things like that.

There really wasn't an easy way to word this, but Rai decided to simply push on, trusting the woman to be intelligent enough to realize where all of this had to come from. Of course, she also always had the option of disavowing her title and leaving the Court if she did not agree with her positioning. Or try to get in with Queen Serafino.
"You are a trophy King," the Queen said firmly but quietly. "You will be seen in Court, but not often heard. You are to be a little social butterfly, without anything of import to say but always listening and willing to agree with wot anyone else says." That wry smile came out yet again. "You are something of a spy now."
There was a good chance that she'd find the assignment demeaning. He wasn't asking her to act intelligent at all and was, ultimately, asking her to lower herself further in the eyes of other Cards in the Court.

She listened to him carefully, her smile slowly widening before she couldn't help but break out into a chuckle. Shaking her head, she tilted it when looking at him with a still lingering smile. Oh this was Rich! But, Shinrai was a very smart man doing what he was doing, she liked that. She was more than willing to put her reputation down a notch if it meant they would ultimately have an upper hand eventually due to her sacrifice. Men were such talkative things in front of beautiful and completely non threatening women. And that, she could do.
"You're a very smart man, Your Majesty. You will hear no protest from me about this, I feel I will be able to pull of my expected role rather well..." There was a silent 'don't you?' added onto that, but she wasn't cocky enough to outright flirt with him. This was business, however completely amusing it had become. Exciting as well, the idea of being a spy pleased her strangely, probably because it was a role she'd never gotten to really try before. So far it had been muscle over brains, or acting she supposed, but she was ready for a twist.
Her face took on a thoughtful look before she glanced at the ground. When touching her hair, her hand had grazed over her chest, and the lack of heartbeat drew her back around to that little thing she'd forgotten to mention. Taking a deep breath, and still wondering how she could, she turned serious eyes to the man before her.
"My Queen... I... feel the need to tell you about something that happened last night." She took his hand slowly to see if he would let her, placing it on the upper shelf of her chest to hopefully avoid any... mixed intentions. "What do you feel? Because I can tell you what you should not." Sighing again in confusion and slight frustration, she let her hand fall away from his and stared pointedly at the wall, trying to sort through the memory. What was dream and what was real still eluded her.
"I had a parcel waiting for me, in my room. It was a glowing figurine with obvious magical properties, of a canine maiden holding a levitating ball. I left it on my bedstand as a decoration, but during the night it- she came to life and a strange transformation came over me. My heart, she says, is turned to glass... and I remember I... when I concentrated, my body became encased in impenetrable silver... but I haven't been able to call it again since then. I wonder if it was partly a dream, of if it is all part of a new ability I will have access to at certain times." She hadn't really been able to experiment with the wind-down period, as it had only been a day, but every day she had decided she would try and call the feeling back to see if it worked again.
She finally raised her eyes back to the Queen somewhat slowly, uncertainty covered by a careful mask of perfect neutral expressions. What would he think now? Hopefully this didn't change things for the worse...

The stallion didn't stiffen up when she took his hand, but it was obviously not in his comfort zone to be touched without giving his permission first. This little movement made him wonder about how much truth was behind the woman's past that he had heard. He looked forward to Elias checking back in to let him know wot the canine had learned.
He wasn't entirely certain wot it was she wanted from him at first. When she removed her hand, he was swift to remove his as well. Gads, wot if El had walked in on that? He would never hear the end of it.
The stallion listened to the woman's explanation, picking up on her unease. Not that it was surprising! Wot a strange adventure. The stallion leaned back in his chair to contemplate this tale. A glass heart.... That didn't seem very sturdy.
Who sent you the parcel?" the stallion asked, voice still calm. He would be leery of opening packages from people he didn't know, but he knew that many people didn't even think about it.
