He had to pick up something from Midori Beach, from a woman named... Zuberi? He thought as he flew lazaly with wonder as he was trying to find out where her house was. It turned out that she didn't live in the city... that she lived in a small village that he was attempting to search out. Though on discovery of many a bar and tavern that the pristest lived in some village in the west side of the region.
He sighed. He thought he had found the right village now, he almost wondred if he would have to knock on each door trying to find this one woman in a whole reagion. It seemed that she enjoyed her privacy...
Later that day after knocking on several other doors trying to find this one person, he finaly came to a squat hut nearly hidden from the skies. Though the smoke that billowed out of the wood made it easyer to find. He thought that this one was probably just another random cards house...
He landed near the front and walked up to the door, knocking slightly with his right talon, "Be dis Zuberi's hut?" he asked as he waited for an answer, either verbaly or phisicaly.

A large possum came out, frowning slightly at the bird. A Kahmden... looking for the Priestess? Well that was certainly strange. Scratching at his tail absently, he shook his head. "Nah, this in't it. Hers is down dere, on the edge of town. It be the hut that's in those trees over there."
Though the man didn't seem particularly friendly, he didn't seem to be rude either... just a little rough around the edges, but he didn't seem to have much else to say because he shut his door.
Zuberi's hut was apart from the other houses, seemingly engulfed by the edge of the jungle and covered in vines. The door was slightly eschew, as if it didn't quite shut right. It sounded though, as if someone was in there, things shuffling and pots banging every now and then. The smell of seafood was strong, and smoke was coming out of her chimney.

As he knocked on the door he silently wondred if he coud be paid with food instead? The sea food smell engulfed all his sences... it would have been quite wonderful to eat some fish, or even some shrimp right about now... He sighed as he once again said the line that he had said many a time, "Be ya here Zuberi?" He swore to himself that if this wasnt the place either that he was just going to give up and return home, sending the money back the person that gave him the money for this pick up...
He waited as he heard and smelled the wonderful cookings of the inside. He also smelled some other things, drowned out by the strong herbs... herbs... Drugs? meh... he really didn't care for em... but he wasn't aginsit them either.
He waited silently for someone to answer the door, giving it another rap here and their so that the occupant inside would hear him.

The sudden increase of noise suggested that whoever was in the hut had heard him. A bit more shuffling, and the door creaked open, having to be given a bit of a push to get past a bit of uneven ground that had obviously been scraped flat over the years. The face that awaited him could be considered.. frightening. Mismatching eyes of frightening, veiny white and a pool of dark black peered up at him, but even as her fanged mouth smiled up at him, it was obvious this mutated creature was friendly. Her rank of 8 of clubs showed on her chest, peering out from the collar of her worn and tattered dress. For a moment she seemed unsure of who he was, but then she smiled. "Ah, ello! Are you the mail carrier?" She assumed he was; she'd been informed that a Kahmden bird would be the one to come around to pick up what she wanted to send.

She was indead frighting at first. Though he had been to many a house with residents that where quite fearsom. She may have been rather fearsom if this was his first encounter as a carrier. He straitend himself up and nodded his head twoards her.
"Yes I be the one. If ye have something to be delivred than I be da carrier." he said as though it was well rehearced and memorized. This was a formal meeting and he planed on keeping it that way. So he jumped quickly to busniss.
"I had recived word that ye needed something carried to some place yet spoken, Unless ye have something that is special to be known than I would be happy to take ye mail" he said as he peered at her hands relizing that they where quite empty. He gave a sigh... he was tired and looked all the more the same. He was dirty also, the dust had caked if talons and legs... he wasn't at his best looks at this moment.

Well, he was certainly a worn out looking creature. A bit dirty too. The squirrel's nose gave the most discreet of wiggles when she caught a whiff of him. "Perhaps you'd like to come in? Forgive me for saying but you look... like you need a break." Stepping out of the way, she invited him in.
Her hut was a small one, no bigger than maybe two average sized rooms put together. It was filled with shelves, cabinets and the sort that were filled with a variety of things, many food and herb related. There were only two windows; open slots in the sides of two walls with grass curtains blowing in the wind. There was a fireplace, large enough to work as a hearth with a cast iron pot that currently bubbled heavily. It was obviously the source of the heavy seafood smell. There were very few luxuries in the hut; a single hammock where she slept, no electricity and only a well pump that attached to a sink being her only source of water. The most high tech piece of equipment in the entire room was a wood burning stove which she cooked on.
The room was the epitome of organized clutter. There was so much stuff, but amidst the chaos and clutter there was some semblance of balance as everything seemed to be purposefully set somewhere within easy reach. There were a great amount of strange items such as organs in jars as well as decorated skulls on shelves of various breeds; all obviously Cards. Despite all that was within the room, there was very little if no dust. Zuberi obviously kept everything quite clean.
In the kitchen portion of the hut was a medium sized table, a package and a few letters sitting on top of it.
"Don't think that you have to take that just now.. unless you be in a hurry. There's nothing in there that will go bad."

Her house was a bit cluttred, yet he knew that some people liked it like that, though he kept his own quite tiddy and neat. Everything in its rightfull place. It was though a nice place and well kept. He supposed that the only dust that would be laid down would be the amount on his wings.
He nodded to her niceness and notted the package and letters that would be required of him to drop off. Atleast it wasn't a large load that he would have to take, like most of the pakages that he had to deliver. "I thank ye very much lady Zuberi. I do be sort of tired and wing worn." he said with a polite nod as he entred her house.
He first walked over to the medium sized table to lift the package, wondering its weight. It wasn't that bad and wouldn't be cumbersom to carry. It would be just right. and the letters he could easyly carry in one of his talons.
He started to wonder though what she did for a living, finding no clue as to what it was inside her hut. Though he was distracted by the food cooking in the kettle which was hung over the fireplace. It smelled good... being a haron made him quite the glutton for seafoods.
"That be smelling good that ye have cooking over there." he said pointing to it with a wing.

The heron's interest in the food was almost immediately noticeable, causing the Midori squirrel to grin before beckoning for him to sit down. "Ah-ye. It does. I take it you're probably hungry after such a long journey?" The suspicious, yet amused quirk of her brow and the grin on her face spoke of how she saw straight through his game. That was all well and good, for the sea had no shortage of seafood bounty and she could always afford to share with the occasional passerby, especially if that passerby happened to be the mail carrier who was to carry her packages.
"Don't want you falling out of the sky dying of hunger while you're carrying my packages after all!" Her potentially callous comment was softened by her gentle laughter, expertly filling up a bowl of the stew before setting it down before him. "Careful now. It's hot. Care for some fruit juice, dear? Squeezed it fresh this morning." Whether he wanted it or not, she was already pouring him a glass. "Sorry it's not cold.. don't have an ice box in this simple ol' hut. Did you have many stops before ye got to here? No offense friend, but you look like ye haven't had a good rest in days."

Her careness was not over looked in the least. He could tell right off the back that she was probably one of the best people to have as a friend. He gave a small smile as he recived the fruit juice that she handed to him, which he accepted with a kind smile. He took a great and rather long drink from it. Well more like pouring. It was rather hard to sip at something with a beak in the way.
After setting down the empty cup did he start to answer some of her questions and statments. With a satisfing small burp he slouched in the chair a bit and looked up to her busyness. She was really a kind person.
"It be a decent journy from here to da last place." he said looking at the pot not really realizing how hungry he really was. "And that would be quite bad, I have not fallen out of the great sky in quite some time... and I be not wanting to do it again." he gave a slight shudder at that.
"Though Don't ye be fretting, I'll get ye packages and letters to all dem people ye want em to get to." he said with a mater-o-fact tone. He was proud of what he did, and he had yet to deliver something that was late. He would ware himself out before that ever happend. It was a matter of pride.
Like he always did... here he was totaly exhasted and ready to begin the long journy all over the regions to deliver her packages. But he might be able to recoup here for some time. If he was lucky.
"Yes... I have been to eight diffrent regions in the past week looking for this one card that couldn't find a good home..." than he laughed for a moment. Something was trully funny in his mind. He whiped away a tear and than looked back at Zuberi, "I couldn't find em... so I went back to the person about to compleatly give up when I found him at her house! Apparently when I left he came right back in about a day... and she had sent someone out to find me!"
That was trully something to laugh at. It was funny now... but at the time he was quite furious. His perfect record was about to be mared yet... it was saved to the two love sick cards.

It was obvious the bird was in need of nourishment. With the way he gulped down what was offered to him she would have suspected he hadn't eaten a good, hearty meal in a while. Clucking her tongue, she couldn't help but chastise him for eating too fast before going to get him a second helping.
She had been refilling his bowl of stew and his drink, so she had missed the emotional moment. It was probably for the best though; no one wanted to start emotional drama within the first five minutes of knowing someone. Zuberi was all smiles though, when she turned back to him and presented the food and drink to him.
"Sounds like quite de adventure! I'm glad it all turned out well." She fixed her own bowl before sitting down across from him. "It also sounds like you put too much on yourself. Maybe you should hire a few more people to help you on deliveries? After all, if you can't take time off for personal matters, that's a sign that you are too bogged down by your job."
