Mnem smiled, amused, at the notion of Minh being shy, but she did exhibit some avoidant behavior when confronted with certain subjects, so perhaps that counted. She helped clean up the aftermath of dinner, and then she grabs a couple of blankets from the closet and led Aderlass to the couch.
With somber gravity, she said, "If you hear anything in the night, it's probably nothing. Plants moving, banders hunting...harmless things, really; quite thoroughly harmless. Don't mind any screams. Smoke is mostly not threatening, unless it has a distinct bluish tint to it, in which case you're assuredly dead anyway, so don't trouble yourself to spend your last moments alive panicking."
She thought for a moment, wondering if there was anything else she should add. "Sleep well, Aderlass. I'll see you in the morning, if Monty doesn't devour you whilst you slumber."

He listened to Mnem’s good night biddings not really concerned. He was more then aware that he was risking his life by staying here over night. If Minh did not attack him for his having angered her, he still had the mutant of a bander running around plus goodness knew what else, not to mention what she had about the plants and screams.
Sometimes it amazed him that the two females were still alive and unscarred by the surroundings. It just did not seem logical that with the two of them living like they did in such a dangerous house . . . goodness you had to be careful to make it to the kitchen without dying. He hoped children were never raised here. Their chances of making it to adulthood seemed very slim.
Shaking his head in mild amusement he returned her parting. “Good night and well dreams to you as well. I will try my hardest to still be here, and alive to boot, come morning.”
When she had left he settled down on the couch, shifting around till he found a position that was some what comfortable before falling asleep.

Mnem had relatively little difficulty sleeping, considering the anticipation she felt concerning the events yet to occur. The coming day would be filled with excitement, she was sure, and she was somewhat irritated to find out that she was not entirely wrong when she woke to the intense feeling of pain, and realized that Monty was gnawing contentedly on her right foot. The day was not starting off well.
She kicked the little bander hard, sending hir screeching off the bed--an action that was not entirely thought-through, because she had to endure the fanged beast nipping and clawing at her ankles all the way to the living room.
"Wake up, sunshine!" she said, pulling back the curtains in the living room and then throwing a small pillow at Aderlass. The sooner he woke up, the better. "We're having coffee and breakfast and then getting on our way."

He was greeted by the next day by the sunshine landing on his eyes from the window Mnem had thrown open. He huddled under the covers trying his best to block out all points of contact with the bright beams, giving a groggy groan in protest.
When she threw the pillow at him he reached out of his haven for a moment, only long enough to toss the projectile back at the female. From the clatter it sounded like he had missed though he was no where near caring to look out from his dark cave.
Content to just lie there, it would take him a few more minutes to wake up anyway, he slowly became of the world around him. What crazy of the hour had this female awoken him to? If it was before ten he was likely to want to kill something. Monty came to mind, the darn thing trying to chew on his horns all night like it was a game.
The words ‘coffee’ had his sitting up much sooner the he would have otherwise, and he looked towards the kitchen with longing. Coffee sounded like a piece of heaven, defiantly something to worth facing the early sun for.

Mnem dished up the coffee and huckleberry scones (made a few days ago, but nevertheless still quite tasty), and encouraged Aderlass to eat swiftly. She considered leaving a note for Minh saying that she would be gone for the day, but Minh probably wouldn't find it, locked in her lab as she usually was, and they disappeared on each other all the time anyway.
She remembered the address that Asaph had left her with. 777 Cloud Apple Road. She was so close to getting her plant back. And making Lindi pay. She was really looking forward to the making-Lindi-pay part. She doubted that Lindi would be so careless to hide the plant at his own house, but Mnem was sure that they would be able to get its location out of him. That would fit in very nicely with the making-him-pay part.
She finished her coffee, and looked expectantly at Aderlass.

Finally become awake enough to manage movement he headed to the bathroom first to take care of morning chores. He hated having his hair messed up and after searching for a brush finally set that to straights.
After a few moments he made his way to the kitchen, better ready to face the world though it would not be complete till he had had his morning cup –or three- of coffee. Pouring himself a cup of coffee that had the precious liquid close to over spilling he eyed the huckleberry scones for a moment before taking just one, biting into it careful. He was never sure just what he could and could not trust with this household.
He took his time eating and only finished a few moments after Mnem had. Much more awake at this point, regardless if he wanted to be or not, he looked over to the canine. “So, where are we heading to first?”

"Lindi's place," said Mnem, heading to the door briskly, pausing only to grab a thick cloak. It was a chilly morning, after all. "We're going to pay a call on him. Asaph kindly supplied us with the address, after all, and we need to reach him before that miserable little wretch crawls from his stupor and gets out of the closet."
She knew quite vaguely where Cloud Apple was. In the neighborhood of a bunch of other Apples--Green Apple, Sudden Apple, Cupcake Apple, Castle Apple. They formed one large community of exceedingly rich people with apparent fruit fixations living in very opulent houses. Lindi had done well for himself in the City, the kind of success he would not have been able to find in the Gardens. Though if Mnem had anything to say about it, he would not be very successful or very rich for very long.

Finishing his breakfast and cups of coffee he placed the dishes in the kitchen sink before following Mnem. Gathering up his own cloak and cane he made sure to shut the door behind him. He was not really concerned with the fact they had told Minh they were leaving, for all he knew she would remain in her lab for a while longer. Memories of a time long pass tried to surface but he pushed it aside. This was not then and these people were different.
Distracting himself he sped up his pace so that he was walking even with Mnem, his can clacking with every other step. “Sounds like a plan.” Surprising people with unexpected meetings to get information out of them was sounding like just the thing this morning. Maybe they would get to beat up another person? Yes, that would be simply delightful. He was pretty sure that they would be able to get Mnem her precious plant back, at least without too much trouble.

The sun was shining, but it was still freezing, and Mnem gripped her cloak as they walked through the icy light. They found Lindi's neighborhood without much difficulty: the streets were all part of a gated community, however, and they had to exercise a bit of stealth to sneak in.
Lindi's place looked nearly identical to the ones around it. The only differences between one abode and the next seemed to be slight quirks in design and the choice of paint. There did not seem to be any lights on in Lindi's place; then again, he could very well still be sleeping. It was early enough in the morning.
The only question left was whether they should break in and get a real jump on him, or knock like good visitors. She glanced at Aderlass. Time to discreetly melt another lock.
"If you would," she said politely, nodding at the lock.
