"Oh, I don't know," she said, perfectly nonchalant. "Throw him in a river somewhere." She looked at the junkie brat with a sizeable degree of irritation, now. She certainly didn't want to be saddled with a kid for the duration of their journey--the thought of children, even older ones, made her skin crawl. Even if the idea of selling him to Corvies for experimentation did tickle her funny bone. She eyed him scornfully.
"You think you could stagger back to the Capital?"
He stared at her with stark fear. She was going to take that as a no.
Mnem sighed the most put-upon, long-suffering sigh to ever escape canine lips. "I suppose we can find someone heading to the Capital and beseech them to take the little cretin to a rehabilitation program." She just hoped they could find someone to take him. Gods, this is what she got for doing good by someone. It was so much less trouble to be self-serving and cruel.

He gave a single shoulder shrug before starring down at the kid. It disgusted him that the child had managed to get himself in such a situation but he tried to remind himself that maybe it was not all the kids fault. It was a hard thing to do, but a matter that could be correct anyway.
Giving the kid a look over he nodded before motion the kid forward. If they were going to have to keep him around for a bit then they might as well put him to good use.
"You. Carry this." He handed the kid some of their loot, being careful to chose items that were of no great value - just in case the kid decided to run. Gathering the rest back up in his arms he motioned with is head back toward where their camp was. "I do not know about you, but now that there is some quiet I would like to get some sleep."

The kid had his loot in hand but did not seem to know what to do with it. Mnem was beginning to suspect that, in addition to being high, the brat was probably also mildly retarded. She didn't have the patience to deal with that. So she set about going to sleep and completely ignoring the whelp. With any luck, he would run off during the night or get eaten by wolves or something. Anything to prevent her from having to deal with him in the morning.
Her wish was apparently granted. When morning came, she rose, stretched, and saw no sign of the kid, nor the bit of valuables that Aderlass had given him. Mnem hoped that Aderlass hadn't given him anything of actual importance; the kid would probably spent more money on drugs than anything else. And that was entirely the kid's problem.
"No great loss," she muttered sleepily to herself. She shook Aderlass awake. She wanted to get to Corvistowne with all due haste, and if that meant rousing her companion at dawn, then so be it.
