"I'm not guilty of anything," Asaph said. He was already casting a furtive glance at the door, like he actually had a chance of escaping if he chose to run.
"Asaph," said Mnem, a hint of warning in her voice. "Please sit down. We'll pour you a glass of wine."
"You broke into my house," Asaph said protestingly, but he was sitting down. "I could call Mr. Snook. He would get security to haul you out of here in a heartbeat."
"Mr. Snook," said Mnem, in a polite tone and with a thin knifeslash of a smile, "is not going to do anything. We had words, and came to an understanding. We're going to have a nice little chat, and you're going to tell me everything you know about my plant and about Donathen Lindi."
"I don't know what you're--" His voice was weak. Liar. Wretched little man.
"Aderlass," said Mnem cheerily, "please pour Asaph some wine."

From his seat on the couch he watched the interplay between the two old acquaintances. This seemed like it was going to be easy enough, getting the information they would need from the male. Especially after his making the weak attempt to call for Mr. Snook.
Shaking his head a little, in mock sympathy he poured the goat a mug of his own wine. “Why do you not come sit down next to me, I promise I do not bite. Only burn a little” He gave a chuckle at the look that passed over the goats face. Oh, boy, this was more fun then he had in ages.
The goat seemed to observe the room, his eyes not focusing on anything specific for any length of time though the always avoided the mouse and canine. Sensing the goat’s actions only a moment before they were put into action, the mouse lunged over the table tackling the goat to the floor.
“Sorry, my Friend, I can not let you do that.” He dragged the struggling goat over to the couch, pushing him on it so that the goat fell in an ungraceful heap.

The little bastard actually tried to escape; unfortunately for him, Aderlass had been in a perfect place to intercept--and his hands burned, which was always a nice encouragement to obey. Still. That he had even attempted at all boggled her mind. Mnem wondered what the hell Donathen Lindi picked his lackeys for, because it most certainly was not brains. Her patience was running very thin.
"Where the hell is my plant, you filthy little ingrate?" He had tried to run away. He didn't deserve politeness.
Asaph attempted to look reserved and calm in the face of very obvious danger. He failed quite spectacularly. "I don't know. I just grabbed the damn thing. Then I gave it to the boss."
"Lindi."
"I'm not telling you."
"Asaph," said Mnem, about a second away from slapping him, "this little meeting of ours can end two different ways. In one of these scenarios, you tell me where I can find Lindi, and I leave you to clean up the mess you made from wetting yourself in peace. In the second scenario, you continue to be an idiot, and I am regrettably forced to eviscerate you."
"His house is on 777 Cloud Apple Road."
"Thank you, Asaph," said Mnem, in good humor once more. "I'm going to knock you unconscious now, by means of blunt force trauma to the head with this lamp."
She smashed it into his head before he had time to react.
"Can't have him giving Donathen a warning."

Standing next to the newly unconscious goat he was not really all that amazed that the ‘vermin’ had so easily given up their next location. He was greatly amused however by the way Mnem had taken care of their situation, especially her knocking the goat unconscious. He was sure that she had done it for other reasons besides her not wanting him to give warning.
Turning his attention to the canine, he gave her a wicked smile. “So wot is our plan now?” It was still pretty early in the day so they could go see this Donathen, or they could call it a day and search him out tomorrow. Both one he was up for and he was also up to letting her continue running this adventure.
“Shall we call it a day and continue our adventure tomorrow or continue to seek this Donathen out today?” He asked, tilted his head to the side a little.

Mnem looked at Aspah's unconscious body with a contemplative frown. They very well continue on after Donathen. But she was feeling a little tired of chasing after people for today, and if they had a way to stash Asaph away and stop him from getting any word to Donathen, then there was no reason they couldn't break for supper, get a good night's sleep, and hunt in the morning when she was feeling a renewed sense of viciousness and righteous anger.
"Current plan, then: we find something convenient with which to drug Asaph out of his mind, lock him in the closet, and then we can head back to my apartment and I can make us all a lovely dinner. You can sleep anywhere that looks the least unsafe, and in the morning we can come back and head out to find Lindi." She looked around the room. "First, we need to find some drugs. Look in the kitchen cabinets. I'll check the loo."

Not giving it a second thought or look he headed into the kitchen, in search of his assigned drug. Truth was he did not know all that much about sedatives, never really finding the need to use them on himself or others. Opening and searching through the cabinets he came across nothing. There was nothing that looked likely to work in the pantry area either and he was betting that what they were looking for was in the icebox. Wait . . .
A thought coming to mind he searched through the icebox till he found another bottle of alcohol. This always worked for him, it was sure to work here!
Walking back into the living room he called out to her, “Any luck so far?”.
He uncorked the bottle taking a small amount for himself, placing the bottle on the table. Waiting for her to return he took to looking over the room again, mug in hand. Their plan did sounds nice. Dinner, a bed, sleep, some coffee, and then more adventuring, what more could a mouse want?

"No," she responded, frustrated. She continued rummaging through the cabinets with dedication, searching for sleeping pills or narcotic painkillers or anything, really, that might be used as a sedative with the proper dosage. Finally, she hit on something. Valerian pills. There were not many left in the small bottle, and she hoped Aderlass had hit on something in the kitchen. She was not generally an advocate of mixing sedatives, but in Asaph's case she did not particularly care. They needed him knocked out well and good.
She grabbed the bottle and made her way back to the living room, where now resided another bottle of booze. Aderlass was drinking a bit of it. She couldn't blame him.
"More alcohol," she said. "Very nice."
It would compliment the valerian quite well, for their purposes. She took the pills and the bottle over to Asaph, and forced them into his slack mouth and down his throat in turn. There wasn't enough valerian for an overdose. But there was definitely enough to keep him out for quite some time.
Task accomplished, she turned to Aderlass. "Be a dear and help me get him into the closet. We'll lock him in and leave."

He watched as she forced-fed him the pills and then poured a good amount of alcohol down his throat. He was sure to not wake up for a while now. Good.
“Sure.” He replied to her request. Grabbing the man’s legs he pulled him off the couch, not being careful to knock the man’s head on the floor. Just for good measure, he thought to himself. From there he pulled the man across the floor by his ankles over to the hall closet.
Maneuvering the body some he finally managed to get the goat’s body situated in the closet and after shutting the door looked it for good measure.
“Well with that all done, should we head out?” He asked her with an amused smile. He let her take the lead, locking the door the apartment behind them. “So wot is it to be for our supper meal?”

Well, Mnem had planned on cooking something, but that was sounding less appealing by the moment. What she really wanted to do was kick back, eat something that required no effort whatsoever, fall asleep, and rise early to get the jump on Donathen Lindi.
"Let's pick up some take-out on the way back to the apartment," Mnem said at last, as she made her way down the hallway. For a moment she thought about dropping by Snook's office and offering a smirking little goodbye, but then he would probably rightfully figure out something was up and try to revive Asaph. Which really wouldn't do. So she thought better of it, and continued on out the complex. "There's a nice little place near home. Not very good fare, actually, but they have decent pot stickers. Minh loves it. I suppose we should grab supper for her as well."

He entered into their apartment behind Mnem, the bags of food that they had gotten from the shop she had suggested hung from left hand as he used the cane with his right. The food really did smell good.
Placing his cane on the side table next to the door, he walked over to their kitchen, gliding through the arrangement of hazards and mess. Placing the food on the table he walked over to their kitchen counter, gathering up all the supplies he would need to make a cup of coffee. Seeing as how Mnem had mentioned them getting food for Minh as well, he made sure there was enough for both of them.
With him making the coffee he left Mnem to get the plates for the food as well to call Minh up from her lab. Seeing that the coffee was on its way to being made, he pulled out the food from their bag, arranging it on the table.
