"Thank you, Mr. Rucastle," the Ten of Hearts said quite politely as the wizened hamster unlocked the side door for the two Hearts waiting there. "Just don't make a mess," the Spade replied shortly, holding the door open long enough for the two to get inside before following them in. "I'll be in the office." He wandered off without waiting for a reply. Levi watched the man go, then headed to the stage to check things out, leaving Sid to his own devices for the moment-- something he hoped wouldn't backfire on him. Everything was clean and open and the Ten heaved a sigh of contentment at the sight. Soon, though, the area should be home to a bunch of kids, all prepping for the big night that Levi hoped would be no more than six weeks in the future. It would depend on how many showed up, though, and how many wanted to direct plays of their own.

Sid wasn't really paying attention to his brother or the scary old guy who'd opened the door for them. He was, however, very interested in the door. He obediently went inside, but he stopped right by the door, carefully unrolling his other handmade posters and taking a moment to choose the perfect one. Here it was! Antrense. The image showed an open door and himself encouraging people to enter. Sid smiled happily and slipped out to carefully attach the poster to the door so everyone would know that they were supposed to come in through this door. With that done, Sid trotted back inside to follow his younger brother. "I put up the thign, Levi," he announced proudly. "I bet everyone will be here thoon!" He looked out across the stage. "Oooh, thith ith big!" Scampering cheerfully out, he began to cavort happily around the stage.

The 'Theater' badge had caught Mirriam's interest the moment her guardian (and leader of the Sprouts) had explained it to her. The problem was, where was she going to find anyone to act in a play with her? She didn't mind acting all the parts herself, but apparently that wasn't allowed as it didn't constitute an actual play. So when the Bat saw a colorful sign on the side of a building in the Capital asking for aspiring actors and playwrights, she bounced around excitedly for a full five minutes and made sure to ask permission to be in the Capital at the time and place on the sign. A little wary about leaving the eight-year-old to her own devices (especially as past experiences had shown that to be an unwise decision) but glad she was showing initiative, her guardian had sent a servant to make sure she got to the correct building, at least. The canine cook paused to stare at a sign, squinting at it to try and puzzle out what it was supposed to mean. " Is this even the right--?" " Yes, yes that's it!" Mirriam cried excitedly, tugging on his paw. " It's the same boy that was in the other pictures I know it! Oh I can't wait to meet them and show them my play!" Mirriam eagerly waved the piece of paper she had in her wingclaw. She was firmly convinced it was going to be the best play ever. After all, it was about super heroes. And it was full of action! " All right...don't be out too late, meet me at--" But Mirriam didn't even hear the rest of his sentence as she pushed through the door and fluttered excitedly in. " HI is anyone here?" She thought she heard voices, and followed them until she reached the stage...her brown eyes widened in awe. This was going to be awesome.

Silas crept out of his father's residence, hoping against all hope that he would be able to slink off without being noticed or questioned. He wasn't the baby he used to be, and was allowed out on his own, and PROOOObably nobody would ask him anything. But if word got back to his father that a little kid had bullied him into doing something he didn't want to do, he didn't want to think of how ashamed his father would be. Nobody bullied Father. He knew that sometimes Father sat back passively, to "play the politics game," or for reasons that Silas couldn't quite fathom, such as the whole messy situation with Uncle Whip and Se that Si didn't want to think about when he could avoid it. But nobody ever forced Father to do things he just plain didn't want to do, and it made Silas sick to think what his Father would think of his own son being forced into anything. Even if the impetus was unadulterated Sid. He found the building with little difficulty, as well as Sid's handiwork. He winced a little at the sign, and wondered if anyone would ever say anything to Sid about his writing and spelling. Silas knew he himself most certainly wouldn't. Walking in, he saw a few Cards inside, though his eyes weren't quite adjusted yet. "Levi?"

Levi turned at the sound of someone else and he gave as friendly a smile as he possibly could to the bat. He was encouraged by the sight of a paper in her little wing hand and hoped it meant that she would have lots of ideas to share with them. "Hello!" he said cheerfully. "And welcome. My name is Levi and that's my brother Sid; who are you?"
Anything further was interrupted, however, by the sound of a familiar voice. Levi grinned as he caught sight of his friend. "Hey, Silas, I'm glad you could make it." A slight smirk pulled at his lips; he knew very well why Si had joined them. "Uncle El will be so happy that you've decided to take the Sprouts seriously," he teased the teenager before turning his attention back to the unknown girl; it didn't seem fair to leave her in the care of Sid, after all.

Sid zoomed around in another circle, pausing only slightly when the newcomer came in, then he zoooommmed around to stop in front of the Avington. "Hi!" he proclaimed loudly and rather cheerfully. "Yeah, I'm Thid! What'th your name? Are you a Thprout, too? How old are you? Levi'th going to direct a play; I wanted to be a pirate, but I already am, tho it wouldn't be acting at all, tho I have to be thomething elthe; I think I might be a vampire! Want to be a vampire with me?"
Sid was a bit excited about being here and getting to meet all of the new people who would hopefully show up to put on plays with them. "THILATH, HIIIIIII," he called when the skunk mix came in, and, yet again, he eyed the fruit swinging from the branches of the Club's tree longingly. Still, his attention quickly returned to the girl.

"Hi Sid and Levi!" Mirriam said excitedly. She could definitely recognize Sid from the signs he'd drawn, like the one that had clued her in to this little event and the one on the door. "My name's Mirriam, and yeah, I'm a Sprout too. I'm eight years old!" She tilted her head to the side as he talked about pirates and vampires. Vampires were sort of weird, she thought...why would you want to drink blood? It sounded gross. She'd tasted her own blood a few times by accident and it was much too salty.
"I think I'll leave the vampire to you, since you have the teeth for it," she said cheerfully, looking at the fangs somewhat admiringly. "I'm a fruit bat, after all, not a vampire bat. I am a superhero though! Which means that, like being a pirate for you, it wouldn't be acting for me to play one...which is why I wrote a play about it!" She waved the paper again excitedly, very happy to finally meet another kid who actually talked as much as she did. Even if he looked quite a bit older.
She also thought it was cool that Levi seemed to be on fire, but since he was being quiet, she was more focused on Sid...so when he loudly yelled out to a newcomer, she turned her antlered head curiously, and her eyes widened. "You have a TREE on your back!" she cried delightedly. Her eyes couldn't help but track to the fruits swinging from the tree...they were shaped like skulls, but she couldn't help but wonder what they'd taste like...no, no that would be rude, after all it was growing from his back so it would probably hurt. She looked back to the others, wings fluttering excitedly. "So Levi you have a play too? What's it about? I hope I get a cool part!"

If not used to Sid's exuberance and sudden bounds of energy, Silas might have been taken aback by the sudden attention of both new Cards. As it were, it was a double dose in short order, and he only slightly had to fight back the urge to reel.
Silas caught the sarcasm and smiled at the fire horse. He knew his father's only real interest in the Sprouts was all the different children, and by extension possible future allies, Silas could meet and make there. He wondered what Levi would think of the real reasons he was "taking the Sprouts seriously."
"Gl-glad to make it," he winced, thinking again of the blackmail. Still, he was glad for the company and friendship, and as long as he didn't have to get on stage, this could be pretty fun.
"Hi, Sid," he said, wincing when he saw Sid eye-balling his fruit. He really, really hoped that Sid wouldn't try and take any fruit. It hurt bad enough when his tree got bent or twisted, he hated to think what it would feel like to have something yanked off.
"I do. I do have a tree on my back. Uh, nice to meet you. I'm Silas. How are you?" He tried to make a good impression as Father had taught him. Best to get to know the Card, and how useful they or their connections could be, before going to far to either nice or mean, Father said. Neutral. Like his mother, wherever she was right now. He was still a little confused by her, she was nothing like Father, though very nice.
He slunk into a corner to watch the proceedings, hoping that by doing so his commitment would be minimal. He did show up, after all.

Using one of her paws she pinned the bag to her side in an attempt to keep it from bouncing painfully against her leg as she skipped hurriedly down the sidewalk to her destination. Thid and Levi had mentioned to her a few days ago that they had something special planned and that they wanted as many Sprouts that were interested to join them. Always up to some fun with Thid and his brother, she had easily joined. Sliding around the door of the side entrance to the theater, she had to give a grin of amusement at Thid's sign. On a lark Khloris decided not to announce her presence to those who had already arrived, instead she stayed in the shadows making her way around till she hid behind one of the curtains, being certain to not make any noise. In place she waited till the moment was right.

Levi was pleased as more Cards continued to arrive, other kids and a few teens. He didn't recognize all of them, but he was sure at least a few of them were Sprouts as well. He smiled at the bat as he answered her question, "I'm directing a one-act based on the play Little House on the Range, it's based off of that popular book series." And, conveniently, required pre-Wall costumes.
Which was, of course, why he'd chosen the play. He actually found the books terribly boring and didn't think the play was much better. The good thing was that he had found a one-act adaptation, so at least it was fairly short.
As the incoming tide seemed to begin to settle down, Levi sent Sid off of the stage and called for order. "Hello, everyone!" the flaming horse announced loudly. "Thanks for coming! I think we can get started now."
(( Anyone else looking to jump in, feel free to have your char be one of those undefined mass who came in then. ^^ ))
