Sabe stood up and walked over to the window where he had rented a room for the night. He would deftly open it and push it outwards to step out onto the small porch to feel the warm breeze and the semi-fresh air. Being in the city really didn't give one too much fresh air as one would please, though never the less, he would still take in a deep breath and give out a long sigh. It felt good to be alive. Knowing that as soon as you woke up that this day should be better than the last one. That was his personal motto after all, "Make each day better than the last!". Thinking about that just made him smile as he unfurled his wings to get the kink out of them. He just didn't have enough room to do so inside. With both wings fully extended did he then go about stretching his arms, legs, and his long neck. The last few days had been a real pain in the neck... having so much work on his desk and not to mention the simple fact that he was just getting lonely again... well not really in that sort of way. He did have friends, and even had his own rabbit... She did after all consider him her new jack... which was a odd notion for him, but it all seemed to work out when he basicaly gave her full freedom to do as with she wished and when she wished. Just... he really didn't know... something was just bothering him and he felt the need to just do something. Anything would be better than sitting around and looking at papers.

Frustration had settled in again. If Iso were honest with herself, she would have acknowledged that the feeling had never left – but then again, she never admitted to feeling discomforted. As it was, the negativity had built up over several weeks’ time and had left her twitchy and restless. She had told herself that today was going to be productive… but her notes had seemed to swim before her eyes and meld one into the other. Nothing made sense. Focus simply abandoned her. Had the ferret been one for fits, and she certainly was not, she would have swept the papers from her desk and stormed out of her lab. Instead, she had calmly organized her documents and replaced the file (perhaps a little more roughly than necessary) back onto the shelf that had been designated for “open cases”. (It was sadly empty.) The doctor wasn’t one to suggest fresh air or sunshine to aid a Card’s health, after all, that’s what medication was for, but she could no longer deny how cramped she felt and how the fair-sized lab seemed to shrink around her and choke off her thoughts. Perhaps a quick stroll outside would prove refreshing, and besides, she was nearly out of ink... Once satisfied that the lab was left in a decent state – if you could call it that (she was still resisting the journey to Corvistowne for an electrician) – she gathered her coin purse, downed a few pills to “aid her headache”, dead-bolted the front door and made her way down the cobbled streets toward… anywhere, really. Iso distractedly padded down a new side-street (her sense of direction was impeccable, and it was never a bad idea to change her path through town so as to better acquaint herself with her surroundings) and took notice of a rather large and stately hotel. Taking in the sturdy architecture, she was surprised by a sudden heavy sigh from an above balcony and tripped over what seemed (to her) the only pothole on that entire road. The Corvie managed to steady herself before falling over completely, but her purse had flown from her grasp to spill coins, pills, notebook, pens and miscellaneous medical supplies all over the walkway. Oh, for the love of Spades!!!!!!

Sabe hadn't really noticed the ferret walking down the street. He was more preoccupied on his own thoughts til he noted with some interest that someone had tripped on the near bairn street this early in the morning. He looked down at the ferret and decided that he being a reasonable person and someone that was always ready to lend a hand decided that it was near duty to help those around you with whatever may have caused their plight. Even if it were to help them pick up their dropped belongings.
So with a quick movement from his hand to his brow to wipe back the feathers did he take a leap off the balcony and used both pair of wings to steady himself to the ground as light as as any smaller bird on a branch could have done. He smiled to the person before him.
"I couldn't help but notice that you may need of some assistance." he said with a warm smile and as he knelt down so that the ferret wouldn't have to look up at him. "Do you require any help?" he asked once more.
Now... Sabe was one of those cards that would throw himself into any task so long as it was deemed that it was helping someone. It was always his first priority was to see to those that needed help the most at any given time. So this... being the start of the morning was the first thing for him to do. Well.. the afternoon was booked from stuff that he had to do back at the Court of Clubs... so he had all morning to fool around so to speek.

Wrinkling her nose in distaste was not going to adequately express the doctor’s exasperation this morning (though the display made a brief appearance as most ill-formed habits were wont to), as such, her fur fluffed out and bristled to form a decidedly irritated and sour countenance. Ruined. Half the medical supplies were absolutely ruined! Gauze and a few (previously) clean handkerchiefs littered the streets and they were now useless. The cobbled streets were filthy. If anyone required medical assistance (not that Iso ever went out of her way to help anyone) she would only have half the necessary supplies.
Ugh….
She simply stared for a moment, conscious of the internal anger and annoyance working itself to a frothy rage and decided to allow herself a brief moment to reflect (before she inadvertently lashed out at someone). As per usual, she was determined not to betray her inner thoughts (though lately it was becoming more and more difficult) and merely wanted to carry on with her day…
When her visage was suddenly filled with heron.
Again, the ferret’s nose showcased her displeasure and her eyes joined with a few slow, steady blinks.
Iso briefly wondered if the denizens of the Kahmden had differing expectations of appropriate personal boundaries, as she felt her own were currently being violated. She paused another moment and gracefully took a single step backward to alleviate the tension she currently felt. A subtle intake of breath later and she was able to respond without sounding completely aggrieved, though it pained her that she had spent precious time catering to whatever whim her feathered stranger possibly/probably had. The doctor might have twitched involuntarily, though she attempted to address her fellow Card as cordially as possible,
I fear I have made quite the mess… anything not wrapped should be discarded, save the coins… [/b] The Corvie inwardly cringed realizing how much of her… personal… supply had made it onto the street, but realized there was a professional interest (with regards to the physicians’ materials) to not reuse anything that had been soiled. Luckily, she had had the foresight to wrap some of the items for extra protection, though the rest would have to be sterilized or thrown out.
Iso gave a very brief sigh…
The help wasn’t needed, necessary or received with any particular gratitude, though for once, Iso appreciated her profession as a reasonable excuse for the possession of certain paraphernalia, (which the Bird might have questioned).
Thank you for your concern...

Sabe wasn't stupid and knew very quickly that he had done something that may have offended the other card as soon as he landed. So he in turn would back up a bit and still have that large grin on his face. He after all was Kahmden... usually they just stuck to themselves, but... he was slightly not like the others. So he would do as she said and pick up the coins and make sure that they were within view of her so that she didn't think that he was taking anything.
He would then start noting other items, items that were for surgical use and things that you would use to bandage people up... and even with a distastful eye... he noted the paraphernilia... He wouldn't question her on it... to each their own, right?
He would finish and wipe his hands on a napkin that he produced from his satchale as he spoke.
"So... I notice that you are either a nurse or a doctor... and some of those tools that you have may require starilazation, no?" he said with a wave at some of the things... "I do have a kitchen in my suite if you want to use it to boil them."
He didn't quite know what this card did... but for some reason he was quite curious, and he loved learning about other people.

Any other Card wood have appreciated the heron’s swift repositioning as respectful and observant, however, Iso’s previously narrowed eyes simply relaxed- if only slightly. For someone who was so adamantly against social conventions, the ferret had constructed several expectations for others to follow (though exactly how she presumed her demands wood be met without proper communication was anybody’s guess). Her eyes met the Kahmden’s and noticed with some perturbation that a large grin seemed to loom down at her. This fellow was clearly unnaturally friendly or there was some missed connection somewhere in that tiny skull. Either way, it didn’t suit well with the doctor. He’d probably ask whether she was all right and attempt to drown her infirmity in tea.
Ugh.
Instead of lingering on that thought, she began to gather her things and created a small pile of the items that whir no longer fit for surgical use until they had bean cleansed. She glanced briefly toward the creature who had volunteered to aid her. so helpful. She was on the brink of rolling her eyes when she noticed the displeasure that flashed across the bird’s face as he sifted through her various items for coins. great. What she needed most of all was someone’s misguided judgment of her activities. Please.
to her mild surprise a lecture never came, but rather an opportunity for her to clean her items. She hesitated. Entering a stranger’s hotel room seemed ill-advised buy any Card’s standards, however, if she didn’t sterilize the tools now she’d have to carry the soiled utensils in a separate garment for fear of cross-contamination. or she wood have to return home before having accomplished anything for the day. Neither of those options whir in her best interest. Best to minimize the days’ tasks and accept the invitation. Beside, she had tranquilizers if he tried anything extreme.
I am a doctor. She hesitated again, feeling uncomfortable. Iso hated having to explain herself. Even worse was stumbling her way through cordial exchanges. It… I wood appreciate the use of your facilities. My name Iaso Price. Dr. Price or Iso will do, thank you.
It crossed her mind that it was customary to give some sort of reassuring gesture at this point and settled for a brief nod.

Sabe just smiled as the good doctor decided that she would return to his room where she would have the option of boiling her tools of the trade. Though he knew from experince that she was indeed unsettled with the whole deal... but he did feel as if he was to blame for the accident and it was his obligation to oblige her in anything that she would require. So... to be said... it was also uncomfortable for him to let her in his suite as well. Who knew... she might be a bad doctor, one that liked to experiment on others. Anyone that had any knowledge on medical knew how to bring down any size card.
"Right this way, I'll lead us to my suit... Dr. Price." he said as he stood up strait and lead the way inside the hotel. He would glance back to check and make sure that she didn't have any of the narcotics out so that others could see... it would be a very bad image if anyone saw him walking around with someone that sold drugs... though she was a doctor... it wouldn't matter... people would jump to conclusions.
He would take to the elevator instead of the stairs that he liked and wait for her to enter before hitting the third floor button. The elevator doors closing smoothly with a mechanical clicking sound witch had a higher pitch than that of the boring elevator music. The ride was fast and he got out holding the elevators door open so that she could exit, being polite and all.
He would then lead her down the hall to the door that marked his room. He would turn to her and give a hearty smile, "This is my room. The kitchen is on the left past the bathroom. I'll be in the living room if you need anything." he said as he opened the door with his key and let her enter first. Following after and going right where she went left and sat in a comfortable chair.
He groaned for a second realizing that he hadn't even had the chance to clean up from the sleep that he had... his feathers had to be a complete mess. So with that thought he would walk from the living room to the bathroom to freshen up and wash his hands from touching possiably dirty tools.

Iso moved slowly, gathering her things and looking back toward the direction she had previously been heading. To the bird, it most likely appeared she was sweeping the streets for any missed items, though in actuality she was resisting the urge to bolt down the street away from the man. It occurred to her that the Kahmden had not offered his name in return and her senses had sharpened in response to instinctual survivalism. What in suits name had she been thinking? An unusual feeling forced its way through her stubborn thoughts as her subconscious jabbed an uncomfortable idea to the forefront. Foolish. She had been foolish. What sane Card agreed to go home with a stranger?
Just as she was about to open her mouth to object, she found herself being lead up the stone staircase and through the double doors of the grand hotel. She noted, with some relief, that there was a doorman as well as a receptionist at the front desk. Oh good, witnesses. They’ll know which room to look in to retrieve my body, she thought sourly. She was being paranoid. He was just an obnoxiously friendly heron who was trying to make the rest of her day go smoothly. Yes, a friendly bird who preys on young ladies traveling alone in need of assistance. At 10 in the morning?
She shook her head to clear the absurdities from her mind. How many pills had she taken before leaving the house?
The elevator ride was uneventful (horrible music) and the arrived at the third floor. The suite was spacious and tidy and he gave her a brief tour of the place. To her relief, he left her alone to complete her task, although on second thought she wasn’t sure whether she wanted him out of her sight or not. Still, she was here in this space and she might as well utilize the stranger’s generosity.
Iso brought her bundle to the sink and dug underneath the cabinet for the household equivalent of her preferred liquid sanitizers. Hmph. Mostly bleach and rubbing alcohol, but it would have to do. She wrinkled her nose, stifled a sigh and ran the hot water; pouring copious amounts of bleach into the sink and waited for it to fill. The sooner the sterilization process started, the sooner she could leave.

Sabe looked up into the mirror staring back at the reflection of himself. He always knew that he was too kind most of the time and knew full well that at some point in his life that he might be used for such a thing, or worse yet he might get set up with some pretty nasty affairs. Oh that could be quite bad, he started to think as he ran the cool water through his hands so that he could wash them from any viral or bacterial infections that her tools may have had. Either would be bad to his health and to his lively hood, being that he was a key figure now in the Court of Clubs... any sick days were worse than just not showing up. At least with not showing up he could make some excuse.
He heaved a sigh as he turned off the cold water and dried his hands off with a small towel that hung from a ring in the wall. Once his hands were clean did he cut the lights and exit the room to see if the Doctor needed any help.
He moved into the living space and quickly caught himself from gagging from the smell of the bleach in the air. He had a good since of smell and wondered if she had any better... knowing full well with that much bleach that anything placed in it was going to be cleaned.... why hadn't she just used something else? Even alcohol was better when caught to flames...
He peaked around the corner to see what she was doing and cleared his throat to catch her attention. "Is everything ok Doctor?" he asked as he just realized that he hadn't introduced himself. It was the expression that he gave was much akin to that of shining a wild deer in the eyes... "I'm sorry... I hadn't introduced myself..." he said standing a bit taller, "I'm Queen Sabe of the Court of Clubs." he said... hoping that this would ease the bit of tension that was thick in the air.

When the heron returned to the kitchenette he would find Iso leaning disinterestedly against the sink while it continued filling with water. She turned her head his way as he entered the area. He was coughing.
Yes, everything’s fine.
The ferret’s eyes narrowed briefly as she wondered if he had some form of pulmonary condition, then caught his questioning glance toward the sink. Oh. It hadn’t occurred to the doctor to forewarn the heron against the offensive smell – she spent so much time in her laboratory that odors such as bleach or formaldehyde simply escaped her notice.
The odor’s temporary. She turned her back briefly to open the window above the sink, turned off the faucet and began gently depositing her tools, one by one, into the noxious brew. Iso stiffened slightly at the bird’s introduction, resumed her normal stance and continued easing her utensils into the sink. Once every item was safely settled, she again leaned against the sink to study the man.
Court of Clubs? This was the second ranked official she had chanced upon in the last month or so. The Capital was certainly living up to its reputation as the center of enterprise. A bemused smile momentarily graced her lips as she considered her earlier preposterous suspicions regarding the man. She very much doubted a noble, a Queen no less, would attempt anything untoward toward an ordinary denizen. There had been enough bystanders around that a man of the Court wouldn't risk igniting rumors, though one had to wonder what business a Queen had with a random Corvie in the street. Iso wrinkled her nose in distaste. She couldn't imagine having to deliberate every move she made. Then again, Sabe didn't seem your ordinary ruler. He was an unusual Queen, to be sure, offering his services to someone of little import to the Courts such as one Iaso Price. Interesting.
Have you business nearby?
Normally Iso wasn’t one to solicit information from your everyday Card, however, Sabe was not exactly ordinary. And perhaps he had business at the Court of Hearts with a certain albino caracal...
