Sir Sabe's response was...confusing to the little Leveret. How could he understand what she was going through, when he was at the very top of his own society, and she at the bottom of hers? Perhaps there was more to it than that. There wasn't for her, but Cards were such an entirely different sort of being...Myth looked up at her would-be savior (or maybe just twice-over kidnapper), whiskers twitching hesitantly.
She could have said something, but no words came to mind, so she just listened. Blue eyes strayed curiously, fearfully, to the glass in front of her. She -was- real thirsty...but this was expensive stuff and she still couldn't get over the feeling it shouldn't be wasted on her. Such strange advice, she thought, staring at the fizzy drink as the Bird's words washed over her. Move forward...don't think of the past...if you never thought of the past, how could you then hope to learn from your mistakes? What of the loved ones you'd lost? They were in the past...
His question snapped Myth out of her reverie, and she blushed red beneath her silver fur. "Oh, well, yes...that power. I...I think it...makes others hear what they want to hear. I can also make them do things...only other Leverets, but still..." Her voice was nearly a whisper, and her eyes got distant, weary. "Leverets...Leverets aren't supposed to have such powers, Mr. Sabe. I'm not supposed to have such a power. I only do because of...an accident..." Her left paw went to rub against the bone fused so tightly onto her right leg it could never be removed. The source of all her troubles...

Sabe looked to her and noted the bone bracelet that she wore about her right leg. It was rather odd and looked like it seemed a bit tight, but he had heard of such items that people just couldn't get rid of when they used them. He gave a small laugh and then looked to her and smiled.
"You know... once I found a broach that I picked up and tried to pin it to my bag when I was younger. Though the needle accidentally pierced my skin." He said thinking back on the time when he had gotten lost and ended up meeting up with a prostitue and instead of having a good time took her out to eat. "Well... I poked myself and now I have wings that give good vibes to everyone around me." he said with a smile.
He then thought about all that happened to get him to this place... and realized that he had come a long way. From underneath a large pile of people to the top. He smiled... "Well.. I didn' usued to be the highest card in the realms... but I did start off as a mail man delivering other peoples mail across the regions." Damn... what could he say to help sooth her? He had no idea...

Mythiril's first reaction to the laugh was to flinch. But once she realized the odd Card was not laughing -at- her, she looked up at him curiously, honest eyes widened as he told his story. She looked at his back, seeing that he did, in fact, have two sets of wings, one the natural color of the rest of his feathers and the other large and white. But that actually sounded...good...and not like the curse her similar experience had left her with. She shivered, slightly, wondering if she had the courage to tell him...to tell him the rest. The dark side of her power, as if it wasn't already dark enough by its very existence.
"You...weren't always a Queen, then?" she asked meekly, curiously. The concept wasn't completely foreign to her...after all, Leverets could become Does or Jacks, so why shouldn't Cards also be able to make the number on their chest better?
She met his eyes for a long moment before looking away, paws rubbing the bone cuffs on both her forelegs again, as if she were cold though the room was warm enough. "There's...something else, Mr. Sabe. I...I have bad dreams...every week, ever since I picked up the cursed item. And the dreams are...becoming reality." She squeezed her eyes shut, afraid that he would never believe her, would think her crazy. She'd often worried about it herself. "I see her, hear her...everywhere...whenever I sleep or whenever I am by myself...there's never any peace..." A tear leaked from the corner of her eye and trickled slowly down her gray fur.

Sabe just smiled somewhat at her question and answered simply. "No... I was once a seven of clubs. Which I was born... but through much trials and hardships I became a queen. From there I worked my way into the courts and now here I am... a Queen in the Court of Clubs." he said as he took yet another sip from his glass. He didn't quite still know what to add to that, but it was nice that she continued to talk some and then he figured out why she thought herself as cursed.
Sabe couldn't help his smile as it faltered. He frowned a bit as he thought about the cuffs that she wore. He hadn't seen them before so he knew nothing about them. Though... what she said made him come up with an idea.
"Well if it plagues you when your alone in your sleep or in the marital realm... well... then I guess that since you don't really belong in any warren... you could join me, and with some help from a few of my closest friends... we may find a way to remove those cuffs and end your blight." he said as he rose from the bed and walked over to the chair where he had set the wine bottle and refilled his glass.
he turned his gaze back at her and the smile returned to his face. "I know... that If I even mention that I know a rabbit or even seen them, well they might throw me in a padded room with my wings clipped." and then the smile faded his eyes getting a distant look... "Or... if someone else knew of your kind... and wanted to keep it a secret they might try to come out and kill me... though with my social stnading I think I'll get a few warnings first." he said... then took a large gulp of the white wine and grimanced as it burned its way down...
"Well... no matter... I have commited myself to this, and I hope that your not going to make me drink alone all day, now are you?"

Remove the cuffs? She had been starting to think such a thing wasn't possible, and she'd firmly told herself it was useless to dream of it, but she had, and often. Those long nights lying awake, afraid to give in to sleep, afraid of seeing the sobbing Card again, Myth had often thought of nothing but how to remove the cuffs. But they were so tight on her wrists, so snug, like they had always been there...sometimes she almost thought they had. It was certainly getting harder to remember a time when they were not.
But still, she wished it were possible. Card magic was the only answer she could think of, and she'd before now had no way to experience it. Even the strange Card she'd met in that alley before had said he could do nothing for it, and he'd fairly smelled like power.
So should Mythiril take the offer of this Heron? How could she not? How could she ever go back to her Warren again? No. That was no life for her now. If no Jack would ever have a cursed Leveret, than she had no choice but to seek help and solace among the Cards, as much as that thought left a bitter taste in her mouth. No choice.
"Very well, Sir, I will come with you wherever you would have me," she said, bowing her head to him. "I will serve you in your own Warren--your own Palace. I give my fealty to you, and to no Jack." And that said, how could she any longer refuse him his wish for her to drink the wine? Myth leaned forward and lapped up a small mouthful of the odd liquid. Her eyes widened as it burned her mouth and she had to fight not to cough it back out. She forced herself to swallow--it burned on the way down, too--and her eyes watered. Why would anyone ever willingly drink such a thing? Perhaps their tongues had grown numb.

Sabes eyes widen as he heard what she had to say. He had been trying to get her to come with him, to rescue her from what he had thought was a bad thing, but for some reason he felt as if he had gotten himself into more trouble than he had thought he would.
He gave a small smile as he watched as she tried to drink some of the white wine. He stood up and took the glass away noting that she had no taste for the drink. He placed the cup on the dresser and then smiled. "Well then, as your... umm... new Jack? I guess that my first order is... well... be yourself and do as you please. You don't serve me, but yourself first." he said with a smile. He guessed that it would be kinda hard for her to jump ships that quickly, but time would work. "Be yourself and voice your opinion when you feel like it. I'm not going to repremend you for your honesty." he said with a smile as he sipped at the drink a bit more before sitting back down in the chair watching to see how she would react.

Bracing herself to take a second sip of the wine, Myth was startled when the glass was pulled from in front of her. She blinked at the place it had been a few times and then slowly turned her head to see the smiling Heron. "I'm sorry, Sir, I thought you wanted me to partake of the wine," she said formally, and might have said more, but he gave her...an order? A very...strange...order.
It sounded more like a motivational speech. No...like a dream. The good kind, not the ones that haunted her sleeping hours now. Could any Master truly wish such a thing from his servant? It felt...alien, to be given such permission. Dizzying. Not right. It left her feeling unsettled and vaguely guilty, like she was doing something wrong.
But Myth smiled. The truest smile the Card would have seen from her yet. "M-my opinion is...we haven't really had a full dinner yet, Sir. If it pleases you...could we have something delivered, as we did the wine? Perhaps water? And something to sustain us?" The little Rabbit watched his face carefully, to make sure she had not overstepped her boundaries.
