((Dalphus gave the Queen a few worried, half jerks that might have been his attempts at a bow, unaware that his tail had, in fact, snuck between his legs. "Of...of course, your Majesty. Haha...nothing to get upset over." "Your majesty." The Officer interrupted, looking tired and harassed as he stands to salute the Queen tiredly. "I believe I may have found her, thick-set girl? Mostly Yarrow, looks like wit feathers on her head? She's over by th-" With a sudden, loud snap and a roar a fireball explodes out of the corner where the other two officers were standing. The blast rages behind the desk, only just missing the Mayor and the officer addressing Donnie by inches, to hit the far wall and tear right through, leaving a smolering mass of dripping stone.
One of the officers is quite clearly dead. His face has been completely blown off, burned and broken bone protruding through the red mass of torn muscle, and lidless eyes staring blankly at the wall. His scorched chest shows the bones of his many, Weasel ribs, all the way doen to the crisped organs sliding onto the floor. The other officer, a Leopard, is bellowing his agony, clutching the stump of his left paw and trying to fumble for a weapon in his belt at the same time. "Control him! He can only do that once a day! For the love of God, Terrance, control him!" The Mayor shrieked, fumbling backwards until he actually slid up against McDuck, only sidestepping after he felt the man's bill collide with his back.
"God! Just kill him!" The officers look torn and the Leopard moves enough that McDuck has a clear view of a Bipedal, Selkie Feline with a nice rack of antlers, lying on the floor. Donnie would have to get up and go around the table to see the pathetic display. The man's once bright fur has a dull rust hue to it, the Selkie swirls have gone an awful yellow-brown color, and there's a dark substance leaking from the place where his eyes used to be. He appears to be wearing the tattered remnants of an official-looking suit and has vomit crusted into his fur.
The officer who had been conducting a spell for the former Queen of Spades gives her a quick look, as though requesting some form of permission.))

Graeme watched as the Queen gave over a few hairs for the spell, pushing his spectacles up and trying to appear completely nonchalant about the whole thing. Of course, he was keeping half an eye on the blocked corner. He perked up a bit as the spell seemed to have worked, and quite subtly, too. So it was that when a fireball suddenly came zipping unexpectedly out of the corner, Graeme's reflexes allowed him to jump back. But he could tell that, had it been aimed at him, he'd be as dead as that guard was right now., reflexes or not Gold-orange eyes were wide, and he turned to stare at the hole in the wall, then back to see--the Mayor's head right in his face.
Graeme sputtered and backed up, giving Dalphus a warning whack with his cane. "What now?" he grated out angrily, turning to look at the very scraggly and pathetic looking man against the office wall. He pointed his cane at the man threateningly. "Who is this? More dangerous secrets? If Ah didn't know any better Ah'd think ye were tryin' t'kill us!" Despite the fact that the Duck's eyes never left the antlered man in the corner, these words were one and all directed at Dalphus. The man looked...well. Ill wasn't a strong enough word. He was missing his eyes for goodness sakes! And Graeme would almost bet his lucky dime that whatever was wrong with this man was what had been killing all those other Selkies.

Donnie leaned forward with obvious eagerness as the Officer interrupted the idiotic Mayor's platitudes. Someone who was doing his job deserved her attention more than someone fumbling around in the dark, especially when that job involved finding her daughter. "Yes, that describes her perfectly. Is-?"
And then things exploded.
Her first thought when she saw the fire was, distantly, cursing everything forever that she no longer had a water ability. She had even tried to call forth the stupid thing on instinct. Fucking hell... never again.
She blocked out the sight of the horrifying death, though it would certainly haunt her sleep for several weeks. The man still alive was more difficult to ignore, but now she finally took note of something happening in the corner. She just didn't know what. Something that made fireballs, certainly.
Drawing in a hissing breath, noting distantly that the officers were not in fact jumping to kill whatever had just murdered their comrade that very second, Donnie jumped back up from where she'd sprawled in the explosion. She caught the eyes of the man who had been about to tell her the whereabouts of her daughter, agonized for all of a second, and then prioritized.
"You talk now and you talk fast," she commanded, using the full weight of whatever imperiousness her new Diamond ability added to her naturally commanding presence.

((The Officer nods to Donalda, and seems unable to fully abort a pre-programmed half-bow. "Your Majesty. Your daughter's at the Rising Wing, s'righ' outside'a town. That..." He gives Dalpus an uncomfortable look as the Canine gapes at him and shakes his head sternly. Once. The officer sighs heavily and gives the Queen a pathetic look. "Loyalty never paid no bills, your Majesty. That righ' there?" He pointed to the man trembling and bound on the floor as the Leopard struggled back to his feet, gasping. His wound at the very least, cauterized by the flame. "That's the Mayor." He finished simply. Leaning against the wall, his hands shaking uncontrollably, though his expression remained calm, he pulled out a pack of cigarettes and fumbled with them desperately.
Dalphus gaped at the officer and then back at the two dignitaries in front of him. Terrified. "I...I can explain" He whispered, eyes wide with fear. "When he got sick, and we knew you two were coming, well...we had to...to get ready anyway." His voice rose in octave as he spoke, and the thing on the floor let out a loud, ear-splitting shriek, and floundered on the floor before the Leopard struck it, violently, between the antlers. The "Mayor" fell back to the floor, panting and heaving, its eyes running over with the thick, black substance.))

Well, at least her daughter was somewhere familiar, then, Graeme thought absently, much more focussed for the moment on the thing that was flinging fireballs at them. He frowned when the man cut himself off, gold orange eyes narrowing at him, and completely ignoring Dalphus. But when the identity of the wreck of a man on the floor was revealed...Graeme's eyes widened in a way that would have almost been comical in any other circumstance. "What?" he said, feeling himself get suddenly weak in the knees from shock. It certainly explained a lot! No wonder everyone was so nervous, and no wonder Dalphus seemed so incompetent at his job. It -wasn't- his job.
Of course...when the Dog began to speak again, Graeme slowly turned to face him, eyes burning. "Ye REALLY did lie tae us, didn't ye?" he snarled. "Ye're a phony on top o'everythin' else!" This time, despite the Queen being there, the Duck's temper built up, gathering fuel from his fear and becoming as hot as the fireball that had just burnt a hole in the wall, until all he could see was red.
He lunged at Dalphus, reaching out with his cane in an attempt to whack him soundly across the chest, though he was too angry for the blow to be as strong as he meant (rolled an 11). At the same time, he activated a small, annoying ability on the man. "NO MORE LIES, AH TOLD YE NO MORE LIES IF YE KEN WHAT'S GOOD FER YE!"
Small Ability: Once a day, he is able to cause someone to itch dreadfully around their neck for half an hour. After this time has passed they will see that the reason for the itching is a fine collar of freshly grown white feathers. These will molt over the course of the remainder of the day, leaving a rash for another two days before healing.

If Mikael hadn't been sweating earlier, seeing a fireball blast through a wall certainly did it. Now the squirming thing in the corner couldn't be ignored as he looked around the desk to see just -what- was going on.
The sight actually made him give a little, feeble scream… one that rang up into a pathetic breaking pitch that broke off into something that could have been registered as little more than a startled shriek. He jumped back, chest heaving as the sight of the possessed man shook him to the very core. (rolled 2 on reaction)
"Oh suits… Oh SUITS. Damnit man! Could giving a rain check really be considered that bad of a faux pas! The Mayor is rolling in his own vomit with… with that shit leaking out of his face!"
He backed further away, shaking his head forcefully to try and regain his composure. He was barely able to do so, shaking terribly. "Your Majesty… we've got to fix this! What if it spreads? What if it has -already- spread?"

Sophie was at the inn where they were staying? Good. Donnie would have allowed herself to breathe a sigh of relief if the look on the officer's face hadn't stopped her. The woman's eyes flicked from him to the Mayor and back before slowly narrowing.
She hadn't been able to see the afflicted man from where she stook and so she took several steps forward to see where the policeman was pointing. What she saw made her stop dead, legs locking for a moment as the horror of the man's condition sunk in. And really, it was horror, because damn. If that was happening to an increasing number of people? No...
"Thank you, Officer," she growled. And then she turned to look at the false Mayor.
Until the real one's shriek distracted her and the other policeman kicked him. And that really was the last straw. "STOP!" she roared at the man, flinging a spell to get her point across. It came in the form of a bookend from a nearby shelf, made of heavy wood (4).
Small Ability: Once a week, she is now able to cause one object the size of her palm or smaller to leap out at another person. This ability does not apply to magical items. Once the object has flung itself once, the spell is spent.
Then she swung back around to the Mayor and snarled. "You are less than useless. You are a lying, filthy, reckless cheat." She activated her Queen's ability, forcing the dog into his Animal form, before calling forth a few more. She was not giving him a chance to relatiate. And then she would change to her biped form, Suit be damned, and attack. To kill (19, whoo!).
Queen's Ability: Once per month, she is now able to cause an opponent to change instantly to their Animal form. They will be unable to change into any other form (magical, normal, or otherwise) for a full ten minutes. This ability can be used to revert Jokers to their natural Animal form or the closest thing to it, but does not work on Rabbits. If the Card only possesses their Animal form, then they will feel an incredible pain for a full ten minutes as their body tries to comply doubly with the power of this Queen's ability.
Moderate Ability: Once per week, she is able to cause complete hearing loss to an opponent for up to three hours. During these three hours, they will continuously hear repetitive, loud harp music in their heads to reflect her mood at them. It is intensely distracting and they can’t get away from it or change anything about it. They’re stuck with it until the spell wears off.
Small Ability: Once a week, she is now able to cause another Spade's water ability to burn their hands, or arms as it exits them by magical force. The burn is mildly painful and will dull slightly after the other Spade has finished with their water ability. Once she has cast it on them though, they will feel it every time they use that ability that day.

(("Mr. McDuck, please..." Dalphus cajoled, trying to calm the man as he fumed, the edges of his bill turning slightly pink with fury. Still, it was better than looking toward the Queen. "Mr. McDuck, I had to. He...yes, that is the Mayor. He was my-" The cane caught him in the chest harder then it might have if he'd been on the lookout for it. (5) He whistled air, unable to breathe right as a spell suddenly caught him and, unprofessional as it was, he began scratching desperately at his neck, coughing.
The Leopard officer ducked the projectile thrown at him and snarled in an absolute rage, backing away from the Queen with the very suddenly demonic expression as she changed into a hulking and rather terrifying form before him. He slid along the back wall until he'd reached the door... And was gone.
The officer who had been attempting to placate the Queen had sunk behind the desk, mouth open in terror as the woman changed and roared her displeasure. "Y-your Majesty?" He whispered in confusion, at the same time hoping to calm her down as his brain begged him to make no further sound so as to not draw attention.
"Ms. Donalda? Please!" Dalphus screeched as the Queen changed into her Bipedal form and slammed him with a spell. He wailed in fright as he was forced into his Animal form with a painful crunch...and was unable to shift out of it. Feeling blind terror creeping up his spine, he whined loudly. "I had to! He told me to! He's my cousin, I- AAAAAUUUGGH!" A horrible, loud twanging sound assaulted his ears just as his Spades water ability was forced out of him at random; shooting from his paws and burning as it did so. "Our Mothers said it was necesarry! You don't understand! The economy needed the boost! We couldn't figure it out and the Capital ignored-" Teeth sank into his shoulder and claws dug into his hip. He screamed in an agony of horror and desperation and flailed all of his paws in horror with every last ounce of will and fight he possessed.
Over in the far corner of the room, the antlered Cat began to scream))

Unfortunately for Dalphus, Graeme was beyond reasoning with in that moment, livid with fury. His eyes blazed as he leaped back, kicking over a chair as his wings flared and he prepared to take another blow. "NONE OF YER EXCUSES!" he shouted, and would have followed up the blow to the man's chest with one to his head when...the Queen changed forms and showed the true meaning of rage. The Duck could only watch, a little bit of his own anger seeping out of him, as the Wolverine threw several nasty spells at the man and then rushed him.
The Duck found himself having to dodge as superheated water shot his way, but he managed to flap his wings and fly out of the way a bit, though he accidentally knocked the life fixture. Clearly, the room was not made for flying in. He landed, folding his wings, and frowned, aiming his cane at the man. "There must have been better ways to save yer economy than tha'," he growled, now listening again, even as he coldly watched Donnie rip into the man. He didn't feel bad about it. The fool had dug his own grave, on multiple levels.
But at the scream from the antlered Feline...Graeme winced. Then frowned at the other officer in the room, swinging his cane to point at him. "You there! Has that man lost his mind along with his eyes?"

In a more sane state of mind, Dalphus's argument might have held some weight with Donnie. At the very least, she wouldn't have been viciously attacking the man and would have instead been trying to piece together this whole thing from the confused muddle of his explanation.
As things stood...
(7) No.
This man would die.
"It doesn't... fucking... MATTER!" Her own rage gained further fuel from McDuck's fury, descending into wordless snarls as she continued her physical assault. If anyone she knew or loved had seen her in such a state, she would have been utterly ashamed when all was said and done. As it was, she would have a hard time looking Mikael in the eyes.
(2) Later. Not now.
Now she was simply trying to end him so that she could move on with this mess, find her daughter, and leave. She aimed for his eyes with a paw (3) and then went after his throat (15).
