Arkady's ears went back as Cas's voice rang out in the small hotel room. Not because it wasn't pleasant; he always enjoyed hearing her voice. But more because it seemed a little too loud for so early. He gave her a smile, though, and a wag of his tail. "Morning," he greeted her more queitly, and nodded with agreement. They should certainly let Conall sleep for as long as his own body would let him. It was no secret that the boy didn't have th easiest time of it.
Arkady went into the bathroom to take a quick bath of his own, rinsing off all the grime and heaviness of the day before. He shook himself, toweled dry, and then paused on his way out of the room. Should he wake Conall? Ultimately, Ark didn't want to be on the recieving end of whatever early morning grumpiness the other boy had...plus, Castiel had said not to wake him.
So Arkady went down alone to find Cas, feeling a little guilty for reason he couldn't place. It wasn't like he and Cas had never hung out without Conall before...what made it suddenly so different? The Coyote was cheerful as he pulled up a chair across from the girl, giving his still-wet Mohawk a shake. "Hey!" He ordered something from the waiter that stopped by and sipped at a glass of milk (not quite as fresh as the orange juice, but not bad either) and enjoyed the quiet moment.

Castiel cheerfully greeted the canine as she sipped her orange juice. Breakfast came out shortly after that, keeping the human child occupied until the meal was over and done with. And of course she would completely clear her plate.
Conall was asleep for the majority of breakfast. When he rolled out of bed he greeted the morning with a growl. Slinking to the bathroom without that much thought. Once he was cleaned up he finally made his way downstairs to join everyone. It was still quite clear from the look on his face that he was still bitter about one thing or another. He pulled a chair up to the table and order a small meal of his own.
"Morning," he said as he rubbed his bleary eyes a bit. "Sorry I slept in."
Castiel was in the middle of a mouthful of eggs when he spoke. She gave a small shrug, making sure to swallow her food before speaking. Choking first thing in the morning would have been bad. "It's fine, we knew you wouldn't get sleep on the carriage ride home."

Arkady's tail was wagging as he and Castiel ate in companionable silence. He found himself subconsciously leaning a bit closer to her as he neatly ate his food, the way he'd been taught at Court. Of course, he still wasn't that close, since he was across the table from the girl. Even though the food was only mediocre, Ark enjoyed that quiet breakfast more than almost any other moment of the vacation so far.
Of course, then Conall came down...looking a bit grumpy, which made Ark frown inwardly. But he put on a smile and a wag for the other boy. Maybe he was just a bit groggy still? "Morning," he said as the other boy sat down and ordered. "Take your time," he added helpfully. After all, they still had at least an hour before their carriage was going to leave, and he was pretty sure it was going to pick them up right here at the Inn.

"Oh good," Conall said after a moment, mostly addressing Arkady as he spoke. His nose was still painfully swore, and on closer inspection he seemed to have to wonderful black eyes under his fur. He was struggling to breath through his nose, and mostly resorted to breathing out of his mouth when he could.
"Can we possibly stop at an herbalist. I think I need something for the swelling and bruises." He motioned to his nose. And then when they got home he would have to go to a real doctor, but until then he needed something.
"Of course we can!" Castiel said cheerfully after finishing her food. "You don't mind, do you Arkady? I should probably get something to put on my back too...." She said before shoveling the last bit of food into her mouth. Her back was pretty sore when she leaned on it or moved in just the right way.

Arkady relaxed just slightly as Conall didn't snap at him for saying good morning. He had half expected the other boy to do so after the way he'd been grouchy yesterday, but he was glad to see that his friend was more back to normal. His smile came a bit easier as he nodded, tail still wagging. "Of course I don't mind. I'm sure we can find a herbalist easily." Though why didn't they have real doctors in Torquehelm? Or...maybe they did, but in the bigger towns. Ark had never really been to any sort of doctor that wasn't a highly trained Court employed one so this would be...a new experience.
There were a lot of those on this trip. Hopefully this would be one of the better ones. The Coyote looked at Castiel and frowned. "Is your back still hurting a lot?" he asked, worrying a little. They'd have to make sure to let her sit in the cairrage in whatever way was more comfortable to her. He realized, belatedly, that Conall might feel a bit left out that he hadn't asked how he was doing. But then, for him, it was kind of obvious considering the bruises under his eyes and the way he was breathing. "We'll find something to help both of you," he added, trying to make up for it. Why was it that whenever he started talking he felt like he was saying something stupid? Determined not to make a fool of himself, Ark finished the rest of his breakfast in silence.

"Not a lot," Castiel said as she attempted to roll her shoulders. She winced slightly. "Only when I move in particular ways. Doing that really stung. I should be fine if I'm careful, but seeing an herbalist to get something to numb the pain would probably be a better idea than regretting getting in a carriage."
Conall failed to notice anything as it was still too early in the morning for him to properly think. He quietly ate his breakfast without incident, though he still had trouble breathing the entire time. It was going to be a long ride to get to a place where people could actually help him.
The carriage arrived on time, the driver came in to pick up their luggage, and was quite nice about it. Everything seemed to be bright and happy despite the deary and dark realm of Torquehelm.
"We'll stop in Avington for an herbalist. Since it's closer to home." Castiel said as the driver helped her into the carriage. He didn't offer Conall or Arkady help, but he gave them a bow of his head before going to take a seat on the carriage.

Arkady nodded, though his eyes flashed worry when Cas moved in a way that obviously hurt her...to show them that only moving in certain ways hurt. Well, that was odd logic if Ark had ever come across it, but he nodded, looking a bit relieved. "Then be careful," he whispered, tail giving a small, hopeful wag. He flashed a look to Conall and quickly finished his own breakfast. The rest of the time waiting until the carriage was spent in silence, or small chatter, mostly from the other two.
Arkady had mixed feelings about returning home. It would certainly be nice to see his family again, especially Laika, and he knew she'd enjoy hearing about their adventures. But on the other hand...this had been fun, despite the few injuries and the scary time in Tulgey, and Ark felt like he'd come out stronger. Like they all had. He blinked when Castiel mentioned stopping in Avington instead of here...well...if she was sure. "If...if you guys'll be okay till then," he said hesitantly, throwing a glance at Conall as he jumped up into the carriage. After a moment's hesitation, he offered the other boy his paw, in case he needed help to get up.

Conall hesitated when the boy offered him a paw. He knew that Arkady didn't like germs, and he knew that the boy would probably cringe over how greasy he was, but he had already screwed things up fantastically with Arkady.... this was a delicate situation. He quietly thanked the Spade and accepted the help into the carriage.
Castiel cheerfully took a seat next Arkady, doing her best not to aggravate her back. It really was tender, but she didn't want it to put a damper on anything. She watched as Conall did his usually song and dance with his back scythes. "Honestly you should get covers for those," she commented lightly.
It was a long and bumpy ride to their stop in Avington. When they arrived they came to a stop in a tiny town that was frequented by travelers along one of the few major paths. Castiel was, of course, the first to pop her head out of the carriage. "Think we can look around for a little bit before heading out?" she asked the boys.

There was a moment of intensity, where Arkady was unsure if his attempt to reach out would be scorned, but then he felt slightly greasy fingers close over his paw and he tugged, pulling the other boy into the carriage. Despite feeling a little slimy when he drew his paw back, and having to suppress a shudder, Arkady was far more cheerful and relaxed during the ride than he would have been otherwise. Of course, it helped that Castiel was sitting next to him, and that didn't stop him from wiping his paw on the underside of the seat while the other two weren't looking.
Reaching the stop, Arkady stood a bit stiffly, stretching cramped muscles. He smiled at Castiel, tail wagging a bit, and nodded. "If you think we have time," he said softly, and shot a half glance back to Conall. Maybe he was in a better mood now, too? It would be very nice to get out and stretch their legs for a bit after the long ride. And they needed to find that pharmacy, in any case. They might as well look around a bit while they were here, right? The Coyote had never been to Avington before. He poked his head out near Cas's, sniffing and taking a look around. It was very...green, despite being in the middle of a town. There were still so many trees around that the sky could barely be seen except in small patches.

Castiel paused for a moment. "I think we'll have time. I mean no one is expecting us back so soon..." she glanced over to Conall.
The boy was preoccupied with trying not to cut through the fabric interior that he had accidentally leaned on during the long ride. One of the blades on his back was firmly stuck in the fabric and pulling despite his efforts.
And then it tore. He made a little sound of distress as he tried to rub the fabric in place. It continued to flop down at an odd angle. "I'm fine with whatever we do," he finally said as he tried not to look so distressed over accidentally tearing something.
Castiel didn't seem to notice. As they came to a full stop she carefully opened the door instead of waiting for the driver. She hopped out with her usual cheer., waiting for the others to follow her.
It was a tiny town, but there were bound to be interesting things in here. She twirled for a moment as she stared up at the trees. "You know, I think this is prettier than the Highlands."
