( OOC: what a fascinating item, I'm quite curious about it. ) Castiel looked alarmed when the coughing fit started. Oh no! How strong was this stuff? A worried sound escaped her as she reached out to help Arkady. Then she realized she didn't really know what to do about a coughing fit caused by incense. After the fit was over he at least reassured her that he was okay. The girl still looked a little bit worried. "Good to know it's the same brand, I don't think I'll by it considering.... let's move away so you can breath properly, okay?" She wrinkled her nose as she put the incense back on the shelf. Conall was a little alarmed when Arkady suddenly started coughing. Apparently staying away from the source of the smell was a good plan after all. He remained where he was, figuring that Castiel would handle things, though he did look worried as he fidgeted and waited for some sort of confirmation that Arkady was fine. It was good to know the incense weren't poison, and the fact that Castiel wasn't going to buy them. He couldn't imagine that in the palace... though it would probably be a good way to cover up his lingering awful smell.

Arkady's ears dropped a bit, although he felt his heart stop for a second as Castiel was so close to him, and with such a concerned expression in her eyes...he swallowed a couple of times, grinning just slightly. He even forced his tail to wag, hoping to reassure them both that he was fine. His eyes tracked as Cas put the incense back on the shelf, feeling somewhat relieved. He was trying not to breathe too deeply, lest that happen again. Even so, his eyes were burning and all he could taste was cinnamon.
The Coyote allowed himself to be led away, again feeling rather relieved about the whole situation. "Thanks. I think it's just my overly sensitive nose," he said. To his frustration, there was a scratchy edge to his voice, like he had a cold. Stupid coughing fits. "It smells nice from far away. It's just...strong." His shoulders moved in a slight shrug, and he took several large gulps of the clean air as they moved away from the area.

"Don't worry about it," Castiel said with a bright smile. She felt a little bad for subjecting the canine to that. And Conall honestly didn't look too thrilled either. "Let's just have fun for the rest of the vacation, okay? We have a lot to do!"
Conall watched silently, feeling a bit awkward. Well... Castiel seemed to want to have fun, that was the important part right?
---
(( OOC: Hope you don't mind the time skip. ))
Castiel was standing outside of Conall's door, pouncing on the balls of her feet in distress. This couldn't be happening. How could he not remember who she was? How could he not remember who his family was? What was going on?
She needed to find Arkady. She needed help. Turning on her heal she hurried to the coyote. The human girl looked like she was about to cry as she struggled not to run down the hallway in the palace. Conall and Arkady were her best friends, her only real friends, so she couldn't lose one of them like this...
"Arkady?" she knocked on the door and promptly popped her head in the room without awaiting a response.
Meanwhile Conall was sitting on the bed in his room, paging through several books. He supposedly knew people around here, but he had no proper recollection of his pasts involving people. Everything else was fine.
The Yarrow girl had claimed that they were best friends, he was terrified and surprised when she barged in, and his reaction had been far more abrasive than he had intended. Or really, his terror had shown through far more than he had meant it to. She had looked so hurt that he wasn't capable of saying anything when she hurried out of the room.
He really hoped that she came back so he could apologize. He certainly didn't know where she had gone.

Arkady had been...different since the odd experiences he'd had in the Capital. He had been withdrawn and quiet before, always the quietest of his siblings, the most easily overlooked. But now, it was even more pronounced. Unless you were family, you probably didn't see him much. Unless you were very close family, he probably hadn't said two words to you in a single day. Of course, as with everything, there were exceptions. His two best friends, he'd make exceptions for them.
But after initially checking to be sure that Conall was all right, that he'd made it home safely, and that he still hadn't remembered anything, Arkady hadn't sought the other boy out. And as for Castiel...he hadn't had time to see her, yet. And he wasn't sure when he would. Currently, the Coyote had been in his room, indulging in some reading. It was some war story or other from the distant past. He read those sorts of things now, with the vague notion that the Cards in those wars must have felt very much like he did now, after it was all over. Confused and cold.
His ears perked up instantly when he heard a very familiar voice calling his name. Despite himself, he felt a small smile spread over his mouth as Cas's head poked into the room. He looked up to meet her eyes, catching his breath a bit. She'd sought him out after all, and...and something was wrong. He could read it all over her sweet face. "What?" he asked, instantly serious, and got up, carefully marking his spot in the book before padding over to the door to meet her. He wasn't limping anymore, and the scars from his experiences were mostly covered by thick fur.

Castiel tried to look brave, or at the very least less worried than she actually was. She smiled briefly when she saw Arkady. He was always around when she needed him, and in this crisis it was no different.
Though it was, since she didn't have Conall to fall back on as the voice of concern and text book logic. With all the strange things that had been happening, she should have figured something would effect her. Hadn't Arkady been in the city or was that just a rumor?
"There's something very wrong with Conall!" she announced. "He can't remember who I am, at all. I know people said there was something wrong with his memory but he... he got so upset when he saw me. We have to help him! He has to know what good friends we are!"
Did that sound crazy? It felt a little crazy now that it had left her mouth. It was true though, they had to help him, even if he didn't want help. That's what best friends did. She played with the ring on her finger, taking a deep breath. "Did you talk to him recently?"

Oh...oh dear. Arkady's ears went back instantly as he heard what was wrong, and he felt even more guilty for not seeking Cas out and warning her about this. He shuffled his paws a bit, trying to find the words. Something to reassure her that it would all be okay. Even though he wasn't sure Conall could ever get his memories back. But no, he couldn't tell her that! He tried to force his brain into gear, but it wanted to lock up, like it had for the past few days since he got back from the city whenever he thought about what he'd seen, and heard, and done...
"I was there," he said softly, finally, the words tumbling out without his true conscious control. "He was tied up in a sack. I found him and freed him but...he didn't remember anything, Cas. Not even his own name." Ark's voice cracked a bit on the last syllable and he cleared his throat a bit. That was another reason he'd been so quiet lately. Puberty was doing funny things to his voice and he didn't really like it.

Castiel's eyes were wide and distressed as she shifted uncomfortably where she stood. So Conall had been tied up in a bag and forgotten absolutely everything? The girl shuddered with distress at the news, leaning on the door frame to support herself.
Her Dad hadn't told her that. Why hadn't her Dad told her that? The girl was biting on her lower lip as she shook her head. No. No nononono! She would not stand for any of this. Her friend was in trouble and couldn't even remember who they were!
"We're going to his room right now," Castiel said as she launched herself off of the doorframe. "We're going to talk to him. We're going to find out what happened to him and we're going to make friends again. I will not have him being miserable and confused."
And that reminded her of something else. The girl paused to look at Arkady. "And I heard you've been awful quiet. Are you okay?"

That was no less than Arkady had expected from Castiel, the instant desire to rush in and help. He felt his heart swell with affection for the girl, and he had to force his tail not to wag. It wasn't appropriate to the situation, not at all. Instead he just nodded, marked his place in his book, and slowly got up to his paws. But he'd taken no more than two steps toward Cas when she spoke again, and...he swallowed.
The Coyote opened his mouth to speak...shut it...and then opened it to try again. Ugh, why was he suddenly imitating a fish? Why was this so hard to talk about with her when he'd wanted to tell someone for a while now, wanted to speak to her in particular but, if he were honest with himself, had been afraid to seek her out? "I...think so," he managed finally. He shifted a bit on his paws, the healing scar on his side itching a little. "Things were just...bad. I wish I could forget what happened, sometimes, but I can't." He winced a bit. That seemed a bad way to phrase it when they wanted to help Conall remember.
He shook his head and just...started for the door. Maybe he could tell her more later, when he didn't feel so oddly choked up.
