Arkady couldn't help but wince slightly at the sound of tearing fabric. Though it was really more for Conall's sake. He couldn't really care less what the interior of the carriage looked like as long as it was clean, but he didn't want his friend to get in trouble. He briefly considered if he could do anything to help as they rolled to a stop.
Arkady nodded Conall through the door first, and then hopped out after one final glance back. The driver was busy watering the Aces, and he doubted the man would look inside the compartment...but he shut the door anyway before turning to look around. "It's nice," he agreed, taking in the trees and the way the houses seemed almost to grow out of them naturally. What an odd thing. Of course, the beauty of any sort of greenery could never compete in the Solandrian's mind to the beauty of snow and mountains. But it was the wrong time of year to even half hope there would be any of that here, so he just enjoyed the fact it was cooler here, with the sunlight being broken up by countless leaves and branches.
He glanced at Castiel. "Herbalist first, or last?"

Conall tried his best to look innocent as he slipped out of the carriage. At least the driver was preoccupied with watering the Aces and taking care of other things. And he probably wouldn't look inside the carriage until after they were gone. Maybe he could get away with this yet?
Castiel paused for a moment at Arkady's question. "We should be good and drop by the Herbalist first. I'm sure Conall's face still hurts and my back is still bothering me. Then we can take a look around." She excused herself for a moment so she could have a small chat with the Driver who knew where they needed to go.
It was a delightfully short walk, and they could pick up the simple order without any trouble. It would leave them with plenty of time to look around and investigate the sleepy little place.
Conall quietly followed, curiously inspecting the surrounding area. "Maybe we could catch a bite to eat or something? I think we passed a bakery. It's still a while before we get home."

Arkady nodded, feeling relieved at that answer. He would have gone along with whatever the girl wanted, of course, but it was probably better this way. Then, if they were running short on time, they wouldn't have to rush back and risk forgetting. Also, he would have felt extra bad doing anything to cause poor Conall any more pain on this trip. Given all that they'd been through so far, anything they met here should seem easy by comparison, right?
His tail waved a bit as he walked, sniffing the clean air and looking around the area. It didn't seem to crowded, which was just fine with Ark. If he did need to protect his friends, it would be easier to see any potential attackers in the lack of any crowd. At Conall's words, the Coyote could feel his stomach gnawing a bit with emptiness. "That sounds good," he said, with a slight smile. He glanced at Cas. "We could always bring the food outside, if we wanted." After all, if they got something small, they could easily explore a bit and not waste any time. Besides, he'd just been sitting in the carriage for the past few hours, and he didn't need to sit down again at the bakery.

"Great idea!" The girl said brightly to Arkady and Conall as she marched upwards. They arrived at the apothecary quickly, the girl slipping into the tiny little shop first. She bounced on her heals as she stared at the interior. It was a tidy little place with a green motif.
A young woman who looked to be a Corvie mix stood behind the counter. They glanced up only briefly when the group entered. Castiel marched right up to the counter when everyone was safely inside, "Hello... I need some mild painkillers."
The bird behind the counter eyed the human girl with mild curiosity. "Mild pain killers huh? Why would I give children drugs?"
Castiel looked a little put out.
Conall stood in the background, eying the Corvie mix. He didn't like the look he was giving to Castiel. It wasn't just curious, there was something else behind it. "We just need something mild. I broke my nose and she has a rather nasty cut on her back. I can barely breathe, I would appreciate some form of relief."

Arkady smiled widely at Cas, tail wagging faster as they approached the shop. Well, it was a nice little place, wasn't it? He walked inside, looking cheery. As usual, Castiel's good mood was infectious. Of course...they didn't get as friendly a reception as they were hoping for. Arkady felt himself tensing. He didn't like the look the Corvie mix was giving Cas either, and he certainly didn't like how dismissive she was being. He felt the thick fur along his back going up a bit, but he kept his expression calm.
He did, however, move to Castiel's right, just a bit behind her...the typical body guard position. He hoped it would give the woman the idea that she shouldn't try anything. She'd be a fool to, with who their parents were, and if he thought it would have been a good idea he would have said something to this effect. As it was, he merely settled for giving the woman a pointed look and saying with forced politeness, "Please, ma'am. We've come a long way and we're just looking for some help."

The Corvie bird stared at the boys for a long moment. She gave a small sigh, "All right. I'll give you a few pills. Just enough for a few days." The bird disappeared behind the counter. It took a few moments before she returned with a small bag. "It's enough for a day. Mild painkillers and something that should take care of the swelling for the young man. His medicine is in the smaller green bag in here. Follow the written instructions."
Castiel was grateful that the woman didn't put up too much of a fuss. She gave a sigh of relief as the woman disappeared. "Thanks guys," she mouthed before fiddling with her money pouch. When given the total and instructions she gave an emphatic nod and handed the woman the money.
The human girl failed to notice the look the woman was still giving her. "Okay, so now we can grab some lunch and you can take some medicine for your nose," she said brightly as she made her way out of the shop.
Conall didn't like the strange bird at all. He frowned a bit before they made their way out of the shop. He edged a bit closer to Arkady to whisper, "Was it just my imagination or was that woman giving Castiel looks?"

Arkady continued to give the woman an mistrusting stare until she finally gave them the medicine. Then, he relaxed slightly, though he remained conspicuously behind Castiel in the guard position, moving when she did to pay the woman. He nodded to the instructions, knowing he'd remember them even if the other two didn't. Truth be told though, he was always a bit wary around pills ever since he and his siblings had eaten some they'd found in Bernard's old room and gotten weird spells out of the deal.
Ark had still never really used his. It was a bit cowardly, in his opinion. He would never want to leave his friends in danger just to protect his own skin. He kept his gaze on the woman until they finally left the shop, and he felt a slight tenseness in his shoulders as they did that just promised aching muscles later. He nodded to Cas, glad that her spirits, at least, were not in any way dampened by that.
When Conall asked that, though, Arkady frowned and replied in a low growl. "It wasn't just you. She WAS looking at Castiel weirdly. I didn't like it."

Conall made a worried sound, doing his best to keep it from Castiel. Thankfully she seemed to be focused on the task at hand. "We... should be careful. Who knows what that Corvie could be plotting."
Hopefully nothing would come of it. The woman seemed a bit suspicious and considering they were in such a tiny place, something could easily come of it. The bipedal kept quiet for the rest of the little walk.
Castiel cheerfully led the way, oblivious to what the boys were worrying about. She opened the door to the little food shop, slipping in ahead of the boys. There weren't many people around in the tiny little town, and there were only a few people milling around.
She went up to look at the food menu that was on display, the person behind the counter glancing up curiously, waiting for someone to approach to order.
"So, Arkady, want to share something with me?"

Arkady's ears pulled back. He nodded, not liking the thought that the woman would do something else to them. They'd definitely have to be on their guard, then. And then another, horrible thought occurred to him. What if there was something in the drugs? Of course, that could just be him being paranoid, but none of them were Corvies or knew anything about medicine and she could have easily slipped something weird into the bag she gave them. He worried over the thought in his head, worrying if he should tell Conall or if the other boy would just think he was being paranoid, worrying about how he could stop Castiel from taking the pills until they knew they were safe...
And then, suddenly, they were walking into a place that smelled like bread and sweets and Castiel was cheerfully asking him something. "Yes," he yipped before thinking. And then he wondered if he really should have agreed to that. He shot a quick glance over at Conall to see how he would react.

Conall paused for a moment when he realized that Castiel had directed a question at Arkady. Sharing food. Again. Though it was quite clear that she was the one who came up with the idea, and Arkady just followed along. He shifted awkwardly and looked up at the menu. Maybe if he had something spicy he could breath better? It might be more safe than taking what the Corvie had given them... ugh. Home just seemed like the best option at this point.
Castiel grinned, obvious to the discomfort that Arkady and Conall seemed to be feeling. She grinned a bit, "Okay, do you want to share a sandwich and some soup? We can save a bit of the sandwich for the road." She waited for confirmation before ordering a rather unruly sandwich and a cup of soup. The meal was produced on the spot, and they were free to pick a table while Conall hemmed and hawed over what he wanted.
The girl picked a seat by the window, setting the tray down and cheerfully inspecting the instructions for the medicine.
Conall asked for something simple that was smothered in the spiciest thing they had. He would regret that, he knew it, but it would at least help with his nose in the long run. The canine mix joined the pair with meal that smelled strongly of spices.
