The smell of cinnamon stood out to his sensitive Canine nose as Arkady entered the shop, pausing just inside the entrance to look around a bit and take stock of what was here. A cheerful, legitimately friendly looking shopkeep was behind the counter, which was quite a relief after what they'd encountered in Avington. Arkady waved back to her with one paw before letting his gaze slip over the rest of the shop. Ordered clutter was everywhere with the sort of organizational system that only seemed practical to the one who set it up. There was a wide enough variety to be interesting to just about everyone, and Ark was no exception.
After a quick glance to see where Castiel and Conall were, the pup followed his nose and found an area with some rather nice scented candles. Of course, they were placed here and there on the shelf along with some silk flowers and a book or two, but it was all so neatly on the shelf Ark was afraid to touch anything. He sniffed at one of the candles but it did not, as he'd half expected, smell like cinnamon. It had a sort of flowery scent that was distinctly familiar, but he couldn't place it.

The woman gave a cheerful smile to Arkady before returning to what she was doing behind the counter.
Castiel almost immediately found jewelry and other trinkets. Gleefully she went to poke around amongst the various useless costume jewelry, nothing really matched with what she actually owned. None of it really matched with anything. Maybe she could find something cute for her sister though? She found a rather simple tear drop necklace that matched the rosie color of her sister's binding that might look cute on her. Maybe this shop had a lot of gems in it?
Conall was entertaining himself with various books while keeping his eyes on Castiel and Arkady. Most of them were titles he had never heard of, Romance novels and fantasy adventures that looked half baked at best. He picked up a few to page through them before wandering over to investigate what Arkady was doing.
"Is that where the cinnamon smell is coming from?"

Pulling his nose slightly away from the candle, Ark looked over at what Castiel was doing...and realized the candle reminded him of her. Blushing slightly, the pup backed away from it until he practically tripped over a lawn statue of a rather ugly creature that was supposed to be a Rabbit. It had huge fangs and a murderous, rabid expression, along with unnaturally large ears. Fighting to keep his tail from going between his legs, Ark went back to the candles, hoping no one had seen that.
Of course, no sooner had he taken a moment to regain his composure than there was a sudden voice from right beside him. Arkady turned quickly, ears up, and then realized it was only Conall. He could have laughed at himself in that moment. Why was he being so jumpy suddenly? "No, actually. None of these candles smell like cinnamon. Some of them smell good, though." He took one in his paw that smelled rather like apples and held it out, figuring that it might be strong enough even for the poor kid with a broken nose.

Castiel was delightfully oblivious to what anyone was doing as she searched through various little boxes containing jewelry and what not. She was having quite the time as she wandered out of sight into the deeper parts of the store.
Conall had vaguely noticed that Arkady was staring, but he hadn't put two and two together. An eyebrow perked sightly at Arkady's remark. Maybe they were burning incense? He leaned forward and sniffed the candle that was offered to him. Apples? It was barely detectable over the cinnamon that was still infecting the air. His broken nose probably made everything more difficult.
"It smells pretty nice, I wonder how they make them" he said as he pulled back and rubbed his nose. Maybe he should get a magical scent to cover up his own strange smelling self. Maybe something subtle would work out for him? "I found some pretty strange books here," he said as he waved an oddly titled romance novel. "This is a surprisingly nice shop."

Arkady shrugged as he put the candle back. He didn't know. There were a lot of things he didn't know, and didn't have all that much interest in knowing, either. This was one of them, really. Now, if there were candles from Solandria, he might actually care about that. As it was, he was more interested in what Conall had found. "Books...?" he repeated, trailing off as he caught sight of the strange title and the rather...odd...picture on the front. He blushed slightly beneath his fur, but tried to shake it off.
"It is," he replied, with a small nod. He did like some of the things he was finding here, and the smell of cinnamon was nice, even if it was starting to get a little cloying. His nose itched and he held in a sneeze as he glanced over to where Castiel was...and frowned slightly. Where did she go? She'd been there just a few seconds ago. Despite how silly it would be, he felt a bit worried. She could take care of herself, Arkady knew, so why was he getting worked up? "Where did Cas go?" he blurted, looking around for her in the same area.

For a brief moment Conall looked a little cheerful, though his smile made his face hurt thanks to his nose. Of course his brief satisfied happiness was popped rather quickly when Arkady realized that Castiel was out of sight. It could easily mean she was getting into trouble.
Honestly they shouldn't have been too worried but she was who she was. "I don't know, hopefully she just went deeper into the store." He said with a labored sight, "Let's go look for her just to be safe." Without another word the boy started for the direction where Castiel had been.
The young girl had wandered deeper into the shop holding a few odds and ends she planned on purchasing. That was about the time where she stumbled onto the store's adorable pet canine that happened to be sleeping on the lower shelf of one of the displays.
She was cheerfully scratching the small scottie dog between the ears. When the boys found her she would be cuddling the adorable creature.

Arkady felt both a bit relieved and a bit guilty when Conall seemed to share his sentiments that it wasn't a good idea to leave Castiel alone for long. The girl had the tendency to find trouble, after all, and all the things that had happened to them on this little trip were just proof of that. Quickly as he could, and not caring about what attention he drew for once, Ark followed Conall, after nodding in agreement with the other boy's statement. Scrambling along deeper into the back of the store, Ark felt more worry tug at him when they found her.
And she was...snuggled up with a dog. A small, normal dog, not an Ace or some sort of Card. It was really kind of adorable and Ark felt himself relax as his mouth pulled into an insistent smile. She looked so comfortable and peaceful right then, not to mention the dog looked pretty content itself. That thought made Arkady's mind start to wander, and think about things he maybe shouldn't, but still he smiled a bit helplessly and felt like he didn't want to interrupt the moment.

The dog was licking Castiel's face, its tail wagging a mile a minute. Castiel was doing her best to suppress her giggling as she continue to scratch the small dog's head and ruffle its fur.
Conall was silent when they arrived. It was rather amazing to see that Castiel wasn't actually in trouble. She was playing with a small lapdog. It was kind of cute. And he kind of felt awkward at the idea of interrupting her, but he couldn't just stand here.
Wouldn't that just be like... stalking her?
Thankfully Castiel noticed both Arkady and Conall. "Hi guys!" she said cheerfully as she pointed the small dog in their direction, it went up to Arkady curiously sniffing at him. The canine made a point of ignoring Conall completely and focusing on Arkady and Castiel.
Conall tried not to frown.
"So did you find anything interesting?" Castiel asked as she bounced on her heals.

Arkady's tail started a slow wag and his face was flushed very lightly as he stood there watching. If he'd realized it was creepy, he would have felt instantly bad about it. Of course, before he could come to this realization, Cas had turned and was talking to them. "Hi!" he said back, smile widening as he saw how utterly happy she was. This was actually a good end to their little vacation. Jusrt this right here, with him and Cas and Conall and peace...
And a dog in his face. Arkady sniffed back at the smaller canine, and reached with a fluffy paw to scritch it behind the ears. It was a little strange to interact with what was essentially a smaller, less intelligent counterpart to his own species, but at least it meant he understood the small dog's reactions to things. He only looked up from petting his new friend when Castiel asked another question.
"Well, I found some candles," he said with a small shrug. He realized after he said it that such a thing sounded rather dumb and uninteresting.

The dog cheerfully greeted the boy, yipping lightly when he reached out to pet him, his tail wagging the entire time. It quietly waited when he started talking to Castiel, though the puppy looked terribly impatient.
The girl's eyebrow quirked upwards at Arkady's comment about candles. "Do they have any nice ones here?" She might as well ask, considering he had brought them up, perhaps there was something important about them? Something little and insignificant could easily be something important later.
Conall waved a book to illustrate that that was the only thing he found. Castiel gave the book a curious look which turned into a perplexed one when she read the title. This store had weird things in it after all. Well, it was the best possible way to end a vacation, wasn't it?
The Bog looked satisfied with his find. He was still eyeing the dog a bit longingly. Animals never really liked him. This wasn't any different. He watched as the tiny canine licked Arkady's foot.
