Ichigo was mildly cheerful as he made his way forward. Not focusing on how sore he was made everything so much better. And being in the company of such a nice young woman made things far more better.
He almost stopped walking at the question. He glanced over at the lioness with a look of mild surprise. "Ah well... I can't feel the actual arm anymore. It's clearly there, and I imagine if the ice melted there would be a bit of a problem." He paused. "What really hurts is my shoulder. And I don't really know if getting my bipedal form would actually fix it. Since I would have to strain to carry the weight rather than walk on it. It might be the same deal of pain... hopefully I'll get used to it."
The little cafe was still a ways away. Ichigo couldn't have felt more awkward unless he started bleeding.

Liliana blushed a little at the look of surprise she received and her tail flicked back and forth nervously. Oh of all the crass things to say... but she had been so curious.
"Thanks for answering my dumb questions... I'm sure it must be a bit of an unpleasant topic." She offered him a gentle smile and bowed her head a little. "It really is unfortunate that such a kind Card would get stuck with such a misfortune." But he was a strong individual, that much Liliana could tell right off the bat. He was dealing well with it, struggling to proceed with life normally despite his being hindered by his...curse? She assumed that was what it was.
Well aware of Mid-Range pride, Lili decided to quickly switch the conversation. "Do you come to the Capital often? Cause I'd hate to think this is the last time I'll be seeing you around." She grinned a little, feline fangs visible in the playful expression.

Ichigo smiled, "It's fine, really. I'm going to have to get used to the questions. It's not everyday someone walks around with a giant ice arm and I imagine if I was on the other side of this I would have to ask a few questions myself." He smiled.
Hopefully this would be the worst thing that would happen to him. Hopefully they would let him back on guard duty soon. He needed to do something other than mope.
The mouse almost stopped walking when she asked the question. A slight blush forming on his face. That was very kind of her. She really was a sweet sort of girl to say something like that. His tail curled as he brushed away the embarrassment. "Whenever I get a few days off I tend to come here. The Mid-Range is too far away and the Court of Spades isn't really the place for me to relax."

"So true. You really have a great head on those shoulders, Ichigo. Not everyone could be so understanding of such a situation."
Better yet, it would seem Ichigo did spend a good deal of time in the Capital. Wonderful! She'd almost been afraid that this meeting was only a chance happening and that he might never come this way again. It was an unfortunate fate for some cards, meeting and parting without ever knowing each other. Lili didn't particularly want to see this delightful Mid-Ranger just vanish into the monotony of life.
"Great! Then we'll have to meet up again soon. You'll know what complex I'll be staying in as well, so you're welcome to stop by anytime."
Ah, what a good day! A helpful acquaintance that could become a good friend. Lili hadn't expected nearly as much from her first day in this big, overwhelming City.

Sometimes Ichigo wondered if people really meant what they said when they exchanged such pleasantries. Would he actually get to see this wonderful young lady again? Or would she just be one of the other people that just seemed to slip through his fingers.
He really hoped not.
"Speaking of..." Ichigo said as he slowed his pace. "Right here is the nice little place we can stop for a bit to eat and drink." He stopped to point to a rather quaint looking cafe. At first glance it looked more like a shop than anything else, the sign had rather worn letters.
The mouse picked up his pace again. It was a little faster than before, but the lioness probably wouldn't notice. He was starting to get terribly tired and need to take an extended break. If he didn't hurry he feared he would just pass out in the street. "It looks a little worse for the wear, but I promise the food and drink make up for it. And the hospitality is surprising for some place in the capital."

Liliana definitely meant what she said. Ichigo was sweet and interesting and gave her a taste of home all at once. It was a life ring in the middle of all this chaos and strangeness. Of course, life would probably fall into order soon enough and she'd grow accustomed to the differences but until then it was nice to have good, familiar friends.
Ahh. This place was nice. It had a homey feel right from the get go, with worn signs and a meager shop front. It reminded her of the small towns she was used to, a great contrast from the bustling metropolitan she had immersed herself in.
"Ah, worse for wear isn't always a bad thing. Small restaurants are often better, I think. Though you can hit a few foul places on a search like that if you aren't careful." She laughed a little, obviously speaking from experience.
When they arrived at the eatery, Liliana leaned up and pushed the door open for Ichigo. She knew it was supposed to be the other way around, but it seemed mean to force him to stand and hold the door when he was in the one wearing himself out for the sake of showing her around.

When she opened the door, Ichigo couldn't help but blush. It wasn't every day that someone held the door open for him. Especially considering he was the gentlemen who always held the door for the ladies. "Thank you very much," he said with a bow of his head as he entered the shop.
It was softly lit. Even with the sunshine filtering in from the large window the atmosphere seemed smokey. There were a few patrons scatter throughout the the small restaurant. A small sign sat near the door and read "please seat your self."
"Where would you like to sit?" Ichigo said as he moved away from the door to allow the lioness in. There were a variety of seats, all of which Ichigo would have to jump on. The horrible balancing act he had to preform was going to be rather painful....
Though they did have pillow seats towards the back of the establishment. "There's some nice pillow seats towards the back if you're interested."

The atmosphere was nice, pleasantly cozy despite the smokiness, and Liliana liked it instantly. Her tail curled up into a feline flag of pleasure and the tufted tip flicked slightly as she examined the room. She could most definitely get used to visiting this place.
Lili glanced around briefly at Ichigo's question, feeling a little rude in suggesting one of the seats that would cause him to struggle with his arm, but ah -- Ichigo had the perfect solution (and one Lili preferred considerably more than the chairs provided for humans and bipeds). "The pillow seats sound wonderful."
Liliana followed Ichigo to the back and picked out a little placement for two that was discretely out of the way of other diners. Once the waitress had brought menus, but the lioness turned to consider Ichigo first. "Do you have any favorites that you'd suggest a first-timer getting?" She grinned sweetly, a little purr rumbling in her throat as she browsed through the items before her.

The mouse was happy that she was willing to sit on the pillow seats. He lead the way carefully. He didn't want to make too much noise on the tiled floor. He had gotten quite a bit of hassle at the palace for the noise and the potential damage he was causing.
When they came to the first set of seats that were empty, the mouse took his with a thankful and mildly exhausted expression. His arm made him do a lot of work, and getting back to the inn he was staying at was going to be a handful. Great. He might as well get comfortable.
His ears twitched at the question. "They have amazingly good Oolong tea. And if you're a fan of fish they have a wonderful sushi chief on staff. Considering he worked in the mid-range for years he can do amazing things with fish, even in the Capital."

What luck she had! Liliana couldn't resist the tiniest purr that rumbled up in her throat at the suggestion of Mid-Range quality sushi. She'd come to the city expecting to lose those little things or, at very least, easy access to them. Though, of course it was a melting pot of regions and it made sense that she would stumble upon at least one good sushi chef.
"Oh! That sounds wonderful! My mum has such a love of fish and Dad taught her all the little tricks to Mid-Range prep." Liliana knew the art from years of watching her mother, but large lion paws sort of encumbered once's ability to make fine cuts. One day, though, she'd have a proper bipedal form...
A petite Morganberry waitress made her way over to the table and smiled warmly at the pair as she introduced herself and took their orders. "Alright, I'll have your food out to you in just a minute." She flashed another winning smile and vanished back into the kitchens.
