The mouse order a particular string of dishes that he was fond of, as well as some green tea. Though he was mildly disappointed that the more exotic dishes weren't available in the capital. Then again he couldn't blame anyone for not serving dishes that could kill you.
When the cheerful waitress was left he looked to the lioness in front of him. It was nice to know that she was fond of Mid Range Sushi. What other things did she like to partake in? "If you're fond of Sushi... are you find of Sake as well? I'm not one for alcohol, but finding someone who knows how to drink Sake would be a nice change of pace." He blushed slightly behind his fur. He probably should have picked a different string of conversation, but he couldn't think of anything off the top of his head.

Sake. The grin upon Liliana's muzzle was hard to hide. Father's love of Mid-Range played a huge roll in their family and alcohol was something that the Sorgaires' could easily appreciate. It warmed the bones and, for the most part, fostered good spirit. Liliana enjoyed a good drink from time to time, though she preferred to avoid getting smashed if she could.
Luckily, she had a wonderful tolerance to assist with that.
"I don't drink much myself, but when I do Sake is one of my favorites." Her tail curled happily. "I've been raised with a fairly large bias toward the Mid-Range, Dad had a lot of region pride and he ensured the rest of the family did too." he would've been considerably happier had she turned out to be a mid-ranger as well, but she knew he loved her anyway. Even if she never could be 'perfect'. "So I've picked up a lot of little Mid-Range talents - like making really simple sushi and bento boxes - and, of course, handling Sake."

So she was fond of Sake as well? The mouse couldn't help but feel his cheer bubble up a bit more. Sushi and Sake, and she apparently had an assortment of different talents from the Mid-Range? He tried not to look as surprised as he actual felt. It was just so difficult to find anyone who had experienced Mid-Range culture.
"Bento boxes? I haven't heard anyone even speak about those outside of the Mid-Range." His mother wasn't particularly fantastic at making them. Though he had learned early on how to make everything for himself and his sister. "Do you know how to make those little octopi? Mine always fell apart fairly quickly."
Their drinks arrived fairly quickly, the waitress told them their order would be coming out shortly as well.
The mouse took a sip of his tea, debating if he should ask the lioness a question or not. She could only refuse if she found it rude. "What are your other talents if you don't mind me asking?"

As 'domestic' as this conversation was, Liliana was enjoying herself a great deal. She'd never expected to meet someone like Ichigo so soon after arriving in the city and she was thankful for every little moment of their familiar conversation.
"Mine still fall apart most of the time too.. These big clumsy paws like to get in the way." The lioness let out little huff of a sigh, blowing her mane aside as she did, and shrugged bashfully. Ah well. "I'll get my biped eventually, or learn to be more graceful with this form." She knew plenty of extremely talented individuals who had only the use of their animal form.
When the waitress came, Lili muttered a cheerful thanks and took a moment to sample her drink. Perfect, and still warm.
Liliana blushed a little at Ichigo's question. She didn't find it rude so much as feeling terribly awkward when it came to talking about herself. "Well, uhm... I know a lot of traditional dishes, mostly, as my mom has a great love of cooking, but what I'm best at? ...I can make traditional mid-range weaponry. Not perfectly, mind you... But even Father thinks I'm fairly good."

Ichigo nodded along with the conversation. It was nice to talk to someone who actually knew about the Mid-Range. More often than not he found himself staring at individuals for their lack of manners or a variety of other things.
He lightly blew on his tea. That was until the lioness mentioned that she made traditional weaponry. He carefully set the cup down and tried to remain composed. He did a fairly good job of it, with the exception of the large smile on his face.
"Mid-Range weaponry? That's amazing. The fact that you can do it at all is a great achievement. Mastery comes with time," He leaned forward a bit, resting his chin on his paw. "Good Smiths are hard to find, especially outside of the Range. This has got to be my luckiest day. I'm so happy things are looking up now."
The waitress along with a companion came out with their food, placing it in front of the pair. She offered chopsticks and other implements if they wanted anything special.
Ichigo took a pair of chopsticks for his sushi. The good thing about mouse paws was the dexterity. "To health and happiness," he said as he picked up a roll and popped it in his mouth.

Liliana couldn't help but blush with delight at Ichigo's words. He seemed genuinely interested in her crafting and, well, that did make sense. As a swordsman he probably had a good knowledge of weaponry and the value of a well-made weapon. Her tail curled and that strong, contented purr rumbled through her again.
"Thank you so much, Ichigo. I... Your appreciation means a great deal more than I can aptly explain." On her way into the Capital she had begun to worry that her skills wouldn't be needed or appreciated by the city-goers here, and that her quest of making something of herself outside of her parents would never come to fruition... Yet here she was, and Ichigo seemed a wonderful proof of her possibilities. Even if her customers didn't appreciate true Mid-Range crafting, they would appreciate a well made weapon and that was really all that mattered in the end.
Lili thanked the waitress for their food, declining utensils (paws just didn't do them justice), and picked up a roll daintily between her claws. "To health and happiness," she purred back and popped her piece into her mouth as well.
This really was the best sort of beginning to her new life than Liliana could have envisioned. Life was certainly taking a turn for the better.

This was nice. Something that would last. Something that would make him forget about his stupid accident. Hopefully things would go well enough that he could still have his job when he returned to the palace. Hopefully he wouldn't be horribly mocked for his new arm.
At least he had found a nice bright spot in the dim light of the city. The lioness was someone he could keep in contact with, and that he could potentially get a weapon from at a later date. He had been debating on carrying a smaller weapon to compensate for his new disability. Perhaps she would be able to help him?
"I suppose I shouldn't rant to you about weaponry, since you know all about it," he said with a small chuckle. "Anyway, I wanted to thank you for giving me the chance to speak with you. I think this was a destined meeting."
