Grumbling to himself over how noisy and rude all of his siblings were - well except for that Zehen but even she could be just too much at times - he stomped his way out of the palace and onto the grounds. As he passed through the arch way that separated the west wing from its gardens he sat back, bringing one hoof up to help block out the blinding light. After he had adjusted to the light he blinked as the world came slowly back into focus. Glancing toward the sky he was relieved to see that there appeared to be rain clouds on the horizon. Perhaps if they were lucky then the could have a thunder storm that night. He always loved been lulled to sleep by the crashing, thrashing, howling, thundering, and rumbling that came with such events. His mood lightened, though it would not be apparent from the scowl that always dressed his face, he continued on down the path.

The Court of Clubs... Vesper had heard a lot about it. Nova, 'Papa', they both seemed to just adore this place. Whatever, at least 'Papa's' presence gave her the 'right' to be here and what have you. She could just explore for a bit, see if it was as 'awesome' as everyone said and then go. Or something. The little rat mix snorted to herself and picked up her pace as she saw the gates come into view. Maybe she could slip in undetected? She heard Nova bragging to Kat about doing it a bunch, it shouldn't be too hard. Besides, she wanted to be out and back on her way home before the rain started. Yet, to her great dismay, the only way in -- that she knew of -- was quickly blocked by someone else. A kid her age, no less, but a King. She hesitated for a minute before calling out. "Hey! Hey you! You live here?" Oi, she really wasn't all that great at talking to her peers...

Walking with no destination in mind he was soon pulled out of his revere when his ears flicked to capture the young, female voice that called out. Coming to a halt he sat back on his haunches and with a sneer took in the form close to him with narrowed eyes. It could not be said that it was anything personally aimed at the female in particular since it was the treatment that he gave everyone.
Who was this foolish person who did not know if he lived here or not? He thought to himself as he took in the affects of the mixed realms. After all, everyone who was anyone at the Club Court knew about the Queen's more recent litter of ten kids - well nine and a missing in action one.
"I suppose you could say that." He finally replied aloud, his tone a mixture of both sounding bored as well as sarcastic. It had taken him a while to prefect it.

Vesper recognized that sneer instantly. It was the same snotty sort of look Zether have given her when he'd thought she was saying something stupid or when he was just plain lording over her. Vesper hated it. The youth tensed up a bit, her fur bristling as she shifted her body, wishing she could better hide the rotting forearm from view.
So many people looked down their snout at her because of nothing more than her region...
Quietly, though, she hoped this wouldn't be one of those Josiggy bastards that did just that. Her tail curled up a little, with effort, and she drew closer. "Just suppose so?" She sneered back, flicking her ears back so that they were partially back. Just enough to give her an air of absolute indifference. "This is my first time here, I was hoping I could find a resident of the Court to maybe show me around but I really don't like relying on 'supposin' and all that." In all reality, Vesper had heard plenty about the Queen's litter from 'Papa' but that didn't mean she knew much about them. Names and word of mouth were just that, Vesper had no faces to compare by.

The equine's ears went back at her returning tone. It was not often that someone dared to reply in such a manner, the only persons to date who made such retorts were some of his siblings.
Flicking his ears forward, refusing to give any sort of position of submission to the female, he lifted himself to his full height proudly. Narrowing his eyes at her he shifted through retorts until he found one that was suitable enough.
"Even if I did live here why would I want to bother with the task of showing someone around? We pay people to do that" He motioned with his chin over his shoulder toward the guard that stood at attention there.
Though he did not want to admit it he was fascinated by the female before him. His dad and Uncle Elias were always going off about this or that on the Lowlanders, and never having met one, he was interested to see if they lived up to all his family claimed them to be.

The little rat/canine was already standing at her full height when the equine claimed his own and, even in his youth, he towered over her. Fuck. The little mutt didn't give an inch and stubbornly held her ground before him.
Vesper did follow his gaze when he motioned toward the guard but merely sneered at the comment. "To be frank? Because you looked a hell of a lot more interesting than a suit like him." The rat snorted a little bit and narrowed her eyes almost challengingly. "I suppose you've proved me wrong."
Her tone was just as challenging as her eyes, daring him to prove her differently -- if he could. If not, then there wasn't any point in sticking around. If she had intended to be caught with a stick in the mud than she would've gone to the guard right away, bah! Vesper flicked her tail, the tip occasionally curling upward; waiting.

Keeping one ear facing forward he flicked one backward again. It was the only movement that came for the canine as he considered the female before him. She was not like anyone he had met in all of his short years.
Finally coming to a decision he got up and turned around so that he was facing toward the palace again. He gave a small huff of annoyance, blowing some of the fringe out of his eyes. With a toss of his head he started walking not bothering to check if she was following him or not. If she did not, well then, it was not worth his time thinking about it.
He kept his pace at a moderate speed, his hoofs clacking nicely against the stone pavement. "What do we owe this honor of your presence for?" He finally asked when they reached the entrance to the building, his tone was just as sarcastic as before though it had lost a lot of its sharp edge.

When the horse turned his back of her, Vesper bristled and her expression darkened considerably. How dare he! She took a few trotting steps after him, determined to catch up and give him a rather loud piece of her mind when, to her surprise, his tone seemed to change.
The rat's fur laid down suddenly, her surprise registering briefly through her eyes before being quickly shoved out of sight. He wasn't being a rude arse, after all, he was showing her inside. Ahhh... Vesper allowed her anger and brief surprise to be pushed aside as a smug sort of pleasure overcame her. Good! He did have what it took to prove her wrong, perhaps he wasn't all that boring after all.
"I just wanted to see what this place is all about." She picked up her pace, determined to keep up with the strides of the longer-legged boy. "My brother seems to really like it here... Always following papa in and what have you." Her tone spoke of that common sibling 'dislike', a superficial sort of distaste for ones sibling that came from little more than sibling rivalry. Nova was the 'beloved' child and she was the 'outcast', and that was how it always went. "I wanted to see if it could live up to all its hype."

He lolled that bit of news in his mouth, tasting it for interest. So her father was someone here at the Court? He wondered for a moment who it could be, if one of the lowly workers or someone of actual tilted.
Deciding that even though he was interested it would not do good for his image to ask any further questions on that matter he simply gave a shrug of his shoulders and a nod of his head. Hopefully something else that she said would give him the answers to questions he had.
"Here is the entrance," he offered up being the ever good tour guide. Plus, you never knew who did not know what the obvious was. Well, that and the equine had discovered that some of the simpler - seemingly explained by themselves - kinds of things were the most interesting. Tilting his head back, he surveyed the ceiling for the archway.

Now that she'd finally gotten her way, in a sense, Vesper took in a better look at her 'guide'. The colt was probably about her age, though his sheer size in comparison to hers made it hard to tell. He was, however, pretty 'cool' for all that he'd been a bit of a stuck up bastard at first.
Then again, she had the very same tendency to be a horrible bitch when she first met people...
Hmmm... She paused in her thoughts as they made their way through the entrance and she stopped to follow his gaze to the ceiling. Not the most insanely interesting thing she'd ever seen and she obviously didn't need the explanation, but she had it and wasn't going to argue his decision to mention it. Maybe he found it important? Her tail curled up into a happy little 's' shape and she tilted her head, studying the ceiling even though she was speaking to the colt now. "So what's your name anyway?"
