He was a little perplexed by her question. Would there not be any purpose to having the twisting and turning? After all, even if it did not lead somewhere it was the journey that mattered. So in reply he gave a shrug of his shoulders. "This is the Court of Clubs. It has never been any other way."
Well that might not be completely true but it held true for all the time since he had been born. However, if you were to take a historical approach to the place, well then the ancient look of the areas that had not been recently remodeled, definitely gave the impression that it had been like this for a very long time.
"Is there anything in particular that you are wanting to see?" He asked, thinking about taking her preferences into consideration. Maybe he would show her and maybe he would not.

Vesper tilted her head a little at that statement. Well, that made sense. Sort of? Not. The rat-mix furrowed her brows but kept up. The place did look old enough, nice and traditional and kind of earthy... Like how she'd always pictured the Court of Clubs to be. Occasionally there were remodeled areas, but Vesper honestly found herself attracted to the older more secretive places.
Her tail curled upward as she trotted along at Cyanide's side, taking in everything despite the fact that she was uncertain where -- or if -- they were going anywhere.
"In particular?" His question nearly caused her to pause, but she kept moving with him in a stubborn refusal to get lost or left behind. "Nah, not really I suppose." She glanced around, trying to think of something that might be really great to see or something. "Why don't you show me something you think is cool? Like, what sort of stuff do you do around here?" This was exactly why asking a guard would be useless. Guards were stiff idiots that didn't have fun... a kid her age was an entirely different matter.

And she passed the ball right back to him. Oddly enough he had been expecting that pass, though not hoping for it. Now he had to come up with something.
He gave a small shrug of his shoulder after having tilted his head slightly to the side while he considered an appropriate answer."There is plenty to do around here, I guess. It being a big place and all. Generally there is some sort of chaos or adventure going on - usually it being my siblings that are up to something or other." Well, actually, his siblings were always up to something or other, it was just a matter of 'who' and 'doing what'.
Well they could not just keep walking in a straight line - well technically the could, he just did not think that it would be all that much fun. With a flick of his tail he kept walking straight.

Vesper kept pace, her tail curled up as she thought. He was an odd guy, but she didn't detest him... That was cool, Vesper needed more people she didn't immediately help. Kat would say it was good for her.
"I suppose you're right... Lots of chaos to be made in such a big place. Is it strict here? I noticed a good number of guard-types." Not a choking amount, but enough to prove that this place wasn't at all as 'low' as she'd heard some snooty Hearts saying it was. "Ya got a lot of siblings?" Abruptly the rat-dog picked up pace, weaving around Cyanide and allowing her tail to brush against his side as she passed him. "I know where I want to go... Show me your Place." She smirked decisively.
Everyone had a Place. That one Place that was better than anywhere else, even if only they thought so. There had to be lots of really awesome places like that in a Court such as this one, all old and winding like it was.

He gave a small shrug that did not really answer her question one way or the other. "I suppose so though not nearly all that strict, really. The guards are here for our protection of course."
Giving a quick glanve over his shoulder he relayed the message that he thought the questions she had asked had been a rather silly one. "We are all told that we used to have a total of nine other siblings but" he gave a small shrug, not really showing howe he felt one way or the other. "now we have eight if you do not count all the guards."
At her suggestion that he should take her somewhere that was his place he titled his head to the side in consideration. Did he have a place that he was willing to reveal to this young girl? Giving another small shrug he continued on his way.

Wow... That was a lot of siblings, huh?
Vesper wasn't sure if she'd want that many. As it was, she had trouble bonding with people and had failed entirely with Nova. Kat was the only one she was close to. "I've just got two other siblings, I think I'd prefer that overly ...eight?" The rat-mix almost hesitated. What had happened to the missing sibling? Was it worth asking? "So what happened to sibling number nine?" She'd never been very subtle and Cyanide hadn't seemed all too broken up about the whole thing. Not that he'd broken nonchalant the entire time she'd been there. Almost boring.
Hopefully he was taking her somewhere interesting...
She glanced around as she walked, investigating the scenery of the Court of Clubs around her as they continued to walk on and on. She almost had to wonder if he was taking her anywhere or not.

Without looking back at her or really pausing to think about a proper answer to her question, he replied, "My other Daddy ate it."
Okay - so that was not a complete truth. Probably.
Taking a right turn suddenly, he changed their path to that down a winding hallway, finally having decided where to take her. Something that was for the most part uniquely his.
It had taken him a while to decide if he trusted her enough to impart the location of it to her. Not that it was secretive, not much could be when you were surrounded by siblings and guards surrounding you and watching your every move. It did seem, however, considering how persistent she had been so far, that she would be one to barge in should he have learned she was someone he would not have wanted bugging her.
Glancing over his shoulder, he looked to see that she was still following.

Vesper's muzzle twitched and her brow arched a little. "Ate it, huh?" The boy probably didn't know a blasted thing about what had happened to his ninth sibling, but Vesper wasn't about to start pointing fingers when he was giving her a no-guards-up-your-tail tour. "That seems a little unfortunate. Why didn't he eat the rest of you guys too?"
Abruptly the pace changed and Vesper momentarily wondered if she'd said something wrong after all and was about to be thrown out on her rear. This happened a lot, but still she was hopeful. Her long tail twitched from side to side before curling up behind her once more.
Whatever was going to happen she'd just keep on following him as she had before and not questioning where they were going. She'd learned plenty that asking Mommy (or Daddy, though he could withstand it a lot longer) 'where are we going' and 'are we there yet' over and over only made people angry.
