Still looking up at the ceiling he rolled his eyes so that he glanced at her for a moment before shifting them back upward. "Cyanide" He said it with both a slight shrug of the shoulders as well as an air of pride. His parents had had an . . . odd sense of humor when they were naming their latest bunch of kids.
Done with looking up at the ceiling he shifted slightly and turned to face her. "I could come up with a name for you but I figure you would not find favor with it. So how about you tell me what yours is?" He replied in more of a demanding fashion then a polite expectation of a favor being returned.
He sat there waiting expectantly for her to reply. He was interested to see if she would return his comments like she had before or if she would be intimidated by his attitude.

Vesper paused for a moment, smirking as he said his name. Cyanide? That was almost as rich as her Mommy-Daddy naming her and her siblings after roses. Well, Nova was understandable... he was such a pretty little thing, but she and Brokat? It almost seemed like a joke.
"That's a neat name you've got there." And then he turned his attention onto her and began to demand a name from her and with the threat of being called names, no less! The little mix laughed slightly, her tail uncurling and lashing from side to side for a moment. "Well, when you put it like that," Vesper's tone was lightly sarcastic and her muzzle twitched into a faint sneer, "I think I'd like to know what you would call me."
Really now, why would she answer a demand like that? She'd been called dozens of horrible things throughout her life by Josiggies (and most other realms as well), it'd be interesting to see if he could come up with something original. Or, even more surprising, something that wasn't insulting. It didn't take much thought to call her 'bucktooth', finding something nice to say was harder by far.

He tilted his head to the side as he considered and pondered over this turn of events. She was willingly putting her self into a spot for insult? Well, there sure was a lot of ammunition for it should be be inclined.
Quietly he inspected her with a narrowed eyes before suddenly announced a name for her. "I think I am going to call you 'Two Toes'. The hard part of a decision decided he promptly got stood up, stretched his front two legs out before him, then headed toward the passageway on his right, not bothering to wait a second longer to verbally invite her along.
Heading down the hallway he ignored the guards, walking much like he was very familiar with the area and its personnel. It was not long again before he reached his next destination on the tour. Coming into a big room he waved a hoof at the surrounding area. "Can you guess what this is?"
Just because he was a guide did not mean he was going to just give all the answers away.

Vesper's surprise, nor her amusement, could not be hidden when Cyanide announced his name for her. Two Toes? "Heh, Two Toes... That's pretty original, Cy, what landed that decision?" To show her 'appreciation' the rat mix snickered slightly, wiggled her overly dexterous paw-toes, and brought one paw up to flip him the classic 'bird'. It wasn't nearly as perfect as someone with say, hands, but it worked well enough. Better than most with paws, at very least.
When the colt headed off, Vesper suppressed the remainder of her snickers and trailed after him. Ahh, that was good. At least he made her laugh instead of inspiring urges for genocide like most people from his region. Coming to a halt in the room, Vesper moved to his side and looked around the big room. Honestly, she had no clue.
"I'd say it's a pretty big room." She smirked and flicked her gaze up to his, arching a brow as she waited for his response.

In all honesty - though he would never ever admit this aloud, he was a little envious of her toe skills. The ability to flip people off . . . well it would add more weight to some of his conversations. Hooves, while wonderful of themselves, could be quite counter-productive sometimes.
It was as he was walking down the hallway that he replied to question, tossing it over his shoulder with a roll of his head. "You have two toes, do you not?" See, some things lay in the simple.
When she sat down next to him and refused to answer his question he rolled his eyes at her and gave a huff of frustration. "Honestly," he mumbled to himself, though there was no fire to the smoke. "This," He motioned to the room with his right hoof, "is the Great Hall."

"Two more per foot than you do, at least." The rat-mix snickered easily, though her tone was merely playful then and not nearly as mocking as it usually was. Nevertheless, she fully intended to let him keep on calling her 'two toes' until he finally got curious enough about her real name that he asked nicely. Or, as was her luck, that something happened and she was forced to reveal it regardless.
Like 'papa' or Cas showing up... Well, she would do her best to keep him guessing until either of those events eventually befell her.
When he rolled his eyes, Vesper mimicked him and smirked. "Isn't that just, y'know, another term for "Big Showy Room"?" Despite her outward snark, Vesper was impressed. It was a great Hall, there was no doubt in that, but Vesper wasn't about to go around admitting true appreciation for big showy rooms.

That . . . was true.
Refusing to admit that even the slightest bit of envy might be momentarily surfacing, he glanced around the room. The servants were currently in the process of changing out the decorations apparently. No more of the rich deep blue that had nicely contrasted with the seemingly Morganberry theme of the palace, to that of a deep forest green. Seasons come and season go.
"I suppose so," he replied somewhat distractedly his eyes watching one of the workers intently. Sniffing at the air he debated his options, struggling with himself and his wants.
A sudden desire had come over him and it was focused on the canine in who was currently taking care of the table decorations to their left.
Now is not the time, he chanted to himself softly. Maybe later
Tearing his attention away from the canine he glanced over at her to see how she was taking the tour so far.

Vesper smirked when she got no reply. That was bloody well correct, of course. The little rat was quite smug with herself, looking around the room and studying the various servants as they moved about. They were... changing the decorations? The blue had been nice, but green was a good color too... Her eyes wandered briefly to the colt, just in time to see him focus in the oddest way on one of the workers.
A canine?
Her head tilted to the side, studying the man that Cyanide was studying. What was so interesting about him? The rat's tail flicked a little and she leaned forward, about to prod the other child about what he was staring at when suddenly she found him watching her again. Vesper smirked. "Somethin' catch your eye?" She had a dozen snide little comments resting on the tip of her tongue but she held them to herself for the time being. Ammunition for later, of course.

A careless shrug was given in return to her question. "Nothing worth chewing on at the moment." Doubting that she would catch the underlying meaning behind those words he gave a soft snort.
Standing up once again he headed out of the Great Hall by an exit across from the canine he had been starring at just moments before. "Hurry up or I will leave you behind" He called out in a swinging melody that - for almost anyone else - would seem to be something of a song.
About middle ways down the hallway he took a door on the right which seemed to lead into another long hallway leading in an off angle from the first. He loved living here in the palace if but for the twisting and confusing maze of hallways and hiding spots that it provided.
He almost always won at hide-and-seek.

Vesper perked up her ears for a moment, mildly perplexed by the statement. Not worth chewing on? The snort only furthered her confusion, but nothing nearly halting enough to keep her from following as he moved. That didn't stop her from having to trot to keep up with his accursed long-legged stride.
Stupid equine genetics!
Moving as swiftly as she could manage without looking like she was actually struggling to keep up, Vesper darted up alongside the colt and followed him down the twisting maze of hallways. She made sure to keep a tight idea of all the winding paths, determined to know where she was going even if he decided he might ditch her along the way (as he undoubtedly could if he actually started running). "So does all this twisting and turning actually lead somewhere cool? or are you trying to get me lost?" Vesper was pleased by her ability to maintain her breath despite her pace, all the better to make it appear that she could keep up with whatever he threw at her.
